Rumble Fish 2 Announced!

He sad “items” not “clothes” so I though he was talking about CB. My bad…
And now about a costumes change possibility… It is possible to change some parts of clothes but not whole costume, because it would be needed a torso, hands, and legs parts to be redrawn. In torn clothes mod they just replace one arm, torso and sometime a head part, 3 parts from 5. Replaced parts vary from character to character, but it is not more than 3 parts To replace a costume they need to redraw a whole sprite, all 5 parts. So it is impossible.

And that is the saddest part It was 3 lock test all over the world and no vids When some shity KOF NeoWave went in lock tests the whole internet was full of those vids. It seams like the Capcom and SNK communities are so obsessed with theyre 2D games, that they more likely jump to 3D Tekken 5 than take in to serious account some 2D fighting game made by another company then Capcom or SNK imho.

They do EXACTLY that in every KOF. Except in TRF it would be easier, since they would only have to recolor some parts and change something here and there, individually. They could make an all-new outfit just by removing sleaves, changing the color of the outfit, adding patterns to pants… Small things like that. So yes, its VERY possible and easier than what they already do in KOF each year. It would be no different from the “torn clothes” effect.

Maybe because TRF1 is not even close to most Capcom and SNK games in gameplay?

It seams that the core of TRF1 engine meets all the conditions of classical 2D engine aka standard combo system(2in1, chains, links, juggle etc.) special moves combinations(qcf, hcf, etc.) just like any other 2D fighting. Plus it has a lot of good new features. So I can’t see how can TRF cant be close to Capcom and SNK games. Its have all old good features and brand new interesting ones.
And Dimps studios consists from the former Capcom and SNK workers.

RF1 is pretty good IMO for a first attempt… It does feel different though, even though there are lots of basic stuff related to the other games.

And why bother comparing the loke test of Neowave to TRF? KoF is huge all over the world pretty much except in the US. Rumble Fish so far has been a sleeper hit in Japan.

TRF2 videos:

'bout time! DLing now.

I hate Gamespot and their video streams. Streams run like some shitty slide show on a dial-up connection. While I’m at it, I’ll say that I hate how high speed internet isn’t available here…

Hopefully some other site puts up these videos for download.

Uh… You can download from Gamespot. Just click “download”.

Anyway, sprites definetly look bigger. And about time too, since theyre high-res they should take every chance to show-off.

Frankly, Sammy should add some crazy AOF-style zoom (instead of the tame, subtle zoom in this and GG). Never understood why not a single fighting game after the AOF series used zoom to that same point (really making them HUGE when close to each other).

Wow… Great news indeed. Tnx Time_Stop.
And what about their lock test site??? http://www.dimps.co.jp/rumblefish/location/
There some new dates, but everything is on Japanese. Can somebody translate it???

Just downloaded those vids. And 11MB and 13MB archives have some CRC error. Is it just me, or everybody encounter this thing???

I got all three Gamespot videos just fine.

Picture of the final boss and match video (Aran vs Mito) from TRF2:

This one not only has bigger sprites (due to the zoom), but its also faster (since sooooo many people complain about that for some reason).

i hope this gets released on ps2 in the states and we get a new fighting game to have tourneys for

its a shame people are sleeping on this game, lots of effort gone into it and its better than alot of shit people play

sleeping on this game because it’s not available domestically

Not hating but Rumble fish supers have no flair. Game is definetly faster though on that vid time stop, they kinda use one combo again and again.

Anybody know if TRF2 is going to be ported?

TRF1 was the top selling PS2 games near its release from my understanding. TRF2 is probably going to be ported. The REAL question is… will either game reach the US? NOTHING has been said about a U.S. port.

Might be related…might not: how long did it take for Guilty Gear X and XX to get released in the US? I’m guessing Sammy/Dimps may want to sit on it until it gains a cult following in the US. Then again, GGX was probably helped by all those people importing the DC version.

Would Sega even bother bringing an obscure arcade game like that? The game sold well on PS2 in Japan, but its hardly a popular arcade game… anywhere.

Sammys US ports are now handled by Sega, so i dont see them even bothering. Hope im wrong, though.

For those who don’t visit the strategy section:

They’re a lot more entertaining than the one Time_Stop posted, cause the guy doesn’t keep falling for quick overhead…
