Also, Rufus’ Sweep should be faster. And -Reach for the Nachos- could use a bit less startup.

I lol’d at the “micro second to punish his ultra being way to generous” and “his moves aren’t safe enough”.

Dunno if someone ever thought of making Rufus Ultra more punishable, the recovery he has after his Ultra is damn fast, he should take a bit more to recover. I know you can punish him in the last hits he does, but sometimes the weird SF4 hitboxes will cause the opposite effect.

I’d do a few things.

  • Target combo only works on standing opponents
  • Tone Ex-Snakestrike down in damage to 180 (I think this has already been done).
  • Lower the damage on the dive kick to 70.
  • Lower the damage of ultra I by about 100 damage points.
  • Add like 4 more frames of recovery on his ultra I
  • Make him less of a braindead character.

the rest can stay where it is…I dont mind about the 2nd ultra cuz ill be still using S.O.S unless BBT comes with something really abusable or if its good against some chars

Target combo on everyone crouching makes perfect sense to me. But SOS off of any tornado is too broken.

What about…

-Nerfed EX SS damage (200/220?)
-Fix his hitbox. I’ve been hit by Super Fireballs and shit that scrubs thrown at me that I’m jumping down when they don’t even touch me. If you want a really funny example of this, try to do RH messiah followup against a reversal EX headbutt from Honda.
-Target Combos work on Crouchers.
-Galactic Tornado does slightly less damage- 150 on fierce/130 strong/80 jab
-Divekick doesn’t whiff on standing opponents anymore (Balrog, Vega, Zangief, Sagat, etc.)
-Decrease startup on Fragrance Palm, Grab Nachos, and far Roundhouse
-Far RH doesn’t add ultra juggle opportunities anymore, but works as a better anti-air on far jumpins

Mixed hand as far as buffs/nerfs, makes him less braindead and goes with the theme of improving him while bringing him in line so he dominates low tier/low health characters a bit less, but doesn’t lose to Shotos/Sagat and Gief as hard?

Lol, I actually contradicted myself. noticed how I said that Target Combo only works on standing is bad, but target combo on everyone is also bad… Hilarious shit right there.

Anyways:

-EX.SS should be on the 200~210 range.
-he’s a big guy, it’s normal that he gets hit by a lot of stuff, but I agree that some stuff just looks plain WRONG
-yes.
-YES.
-HmmHmm
-Fragrance palm is fine as it is IMO, but agree on the others.
-I don’t really think he needs another anti-air besides cr.mp and j.HK (which is so fast that’s it’s practically an anti-air)

he’s a good character, the problem is that other character (ie. Sakura) can’t do anything -offensive- to get out of his loop, while other can just mash something out.

And he has that problems against other characters as well. Street Fighter Four. (_o)/

I doubt Guy has any worse than 900 health, and that does ridiculously silly damage on him. (In fact, I doubt Guy has worse than 1000 health)

Yeah it especially doesn’t make sense when you factor in the 100 ways to land it, zero timing required and high damage it does. Meanwhile other characters have few or no ways to combo into theirs, difficult timing, less damage, and leave themselves open all day if its blocked/whiffed. Fix it.

Ye it looks the same to me. I think a lot of the changes reported from this event were just in peoples heads to be honest.

He needs to be nerfed overall. Either reduce his HP, nerf his antiairs so much they end up shitty as antiairs, or give his dive kick longer startup or make it push back more. I’d vote more for nerfing his antiairs and make EX Messiah Kick slightly more punishable- I don’t see why his defense is so good when he has the best rushdown in the game.

He is absolutely retarded vs characters without good reversals. Safe jump in big damage combo attempts/throw mixups that he can ultra off of whenever. His j hk seems like it might be the best air-to-air in the game and if that wasn’t enough it leads to ultra or EX SS for huge damage. Everything he does is safe yet he he has all that extra health. Has good defense (c.hp ground;, j.hk, ex SS, c.mp air) along with the best rush down in the game. Too many safe easy ultra attempts. Very safe reversal.

Playing vs Rufus is very annoying. He probably won’t be changed though since all the attention is on Sagat.
