More than likely the characters you like to play in 4 have even more options to win with in xT, thats how the game is built.

I can agree with that – I think I give them more credit than most in that I appreciate that despite its similarities to SSF4, the engine is more or less completely new and designed to introduce (and work as a template for) upcoming games like Darkstalkers 4.
Ways to expand the SFxT community:
Play characters who weren’t in SF2.
Better yet, play characters who were never in a Street Fighter game ever.
That’s literally more than half the roster in this game.
Also right now I feel the community is scattered. There are heads on facebook and gamefaqs that love the game and wanna play it more seriously. Think i’ll try to get them to migrate over here.
Also I think Capcom did an amazing job on sum SF chars. Sagat is perfect. He is powerful but in no way cheap or overpowered. He has clear weaknesses but no glaring holes or crippling faults. Juri…they kinda dropped the ball with her. Shes a little TOO good. They completely fucked up with Rufus but his balance is that sum chars body him. He was patched though so meh. Sim is another char they got right. Actually Capcom did right by zoners in general for this game.

Or just play the game better. If the only way you can get people interested is by catering to their character interest only you aren’t gonna have a healthy scene. Show them proper play of characters like Chun, Sim, Gief, Blanka, and the other WW characters while also showing off characters like Poison and the Tekken crew. Try to get the real devoted people interested and playing instead of going for a mass of people that are just gonna get bodied and just wanna see streams with favorite characters.
Do you guys even like the counter hit air juggles? I think it may make the game more interesting if they gave it regular air resets.
I like it a lot, but I do think they could give every character at least one AtA that resets even after a counter hit. Maybe j.lk or j.lp. That would be pretty slick.
actually they didnt get anyone right because the game is based on sf4 which was already slow and crappy and then they added a bunch of chars that bring the average speed even further down. maybe you enjoy sagat’s slug walk speed but i dont and i dont see how anyone could unless their only basis for comparison is sf4.
Walk speed this, walk speed that people make it sound like every character should be darting and dashing around the screen like flies.

have you played literally any street fighter game made before sf4?
every character shouldn’t for obvious balance purposes ( such as grapplers ). but when you’re an offensive character, yet walk like a 400lb slug, then we obviously have issues. this is something that is called bad gameplay design. which sf x tk is full of.
SF 2 Turbo,Alpha 2,Alpha 3, the EX series,3s,CVS 1 & 2 . Not at a competitive level mind you, but enough to not be bothered by walk speed.

if you arent bothered by walkspeed it really shows you have no idea how those games work at a competitive level
ST gief walks faster than SF4 ryu. CvS2 raiden walks faster than SFxT paul. houston, we have a problem
slower walking = far fewer options in footsie game. i said this the last time i talked about this game but…in SF2 you could bait sweeps then walk up throw as a guaranteed punish! that isn’t even close to possible in modern capcom games.
go play sf4/sfxt and then go back and try one of those older games and realise how much better it feels when the average walk speed isnt slug status
I do not want to see any kind of increased walkspeed for Sagat.
That being said, this topic is about how to improve the community and presentation of SFxT, not any of the mechanics itself. So if you would be so kind, please take this conversation over to the Balance or Patch areas to people who give a rat’s ass.

It feels like Akuma is flying around on the ground. Playing footsies vs Akuma is hella scary.
sumone else said it. u dont want gat to walk fast that said hes always walked slow so yeah idk what point you were tryin to make. He walked faster in past games but everything is relative to the cast in which case hes always been slow as hell in walking. Also yeah Gems keep this up i get a mod. just take it somewhere else. you are just trolling at this point.
you can’t just compare walk speeds to other walk speeds. you have to compare them to the speed of everything else in the game and also human reaction times. by that metric, all walk speeds in sfxt are far too slow.
