Samuel, our next tourney will be on September 5th at the Huntington Play N Trade. I posted info on the tourney page. Hope you can make it.

I just want to thank all of you putting efforts into guides, videos and streams. Contrary to what others think, this is a game we love and there’s lots of fun to be had.

I finally had an epiphany with Balrog…I’m playing VERY well with him.

When I play at home with the kids, we do disable the timer.

hey guys in october in richmond, va is one of the state’s semi big tournies.
I was hoping to let all the sfxt players know that they can come to this tourney and play and such. I’ll even try to get a room for all of us to stay the night and play. I just want a decent number for sfxt so they’ll stream it. I know the guy in charge and will wiggle my way to get it up.
So in october 6th is river city runbacks. Def come out guys and we’ll see what we can plan. I want the sfxt defense force out for this one.

I was just about to post this here. I’ll be bringing my own PS3 to contribute to SFxT so keep an eye out for the dude in the SFxT custom shirt.

Bumping this old thread to encourage expanding the SFxT community.

Maybe the new version has brought people back? Any new ideas? I want this game to have an awesome community.

I’m going to bump this too, because I agree. Last I knew, J0e Lewis was working on something of an “Iron Fist League” but for SFxT.

Is there a better message board out there just for SFxT?

ARGH I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH AND I DON’T KNOW WHO TO TALK TO ABOUT IT!

I just bought this game for PC (don’t have a console) because it looked like a blast. I played a little bit today on my pad and really enjoyed it, I have a new arcade stick in the mail to me and I’m really hoping to get down on this game. Are there any consistent streamers left? Looks like not very many people really play the game much, forum even seems a little slow. I don’t care as long as I can find games online. It would be nice to play some local stuff eventually if there is any around me ever. I’m a bit of a n00b to newer fighting games. I played SF II all the time in arcades when I was a kid but that was a long time ago. I played some SFIV back when it released and was actually pretty decent at that but then somebody stole my arcade stick and I got sidetracked. Hoping to get back into fighting games in general but the scene on PC doesn’t seem like it has as many options. I haven’t played SSFIV and I considered picking that up instead but this game just looked so damn fun and so far it is pretty fun. I would really like to see the community grow.

I just got this as well and I am really excited about it. I know it’s old news for a lot of people here, but I think we can still build an awesome community. Just in the same way that SSBM has an awesome community still - let’s keep SFxT alive and well!

Maybe it would be good to start a separate SFxT messageboard, so all these other games won’t detract from the conversation. There is a really amazing MK messageboard out there, TestYourMight. Would love to see a “Test Your Might” for SFxT, where we could have more thread organization (Video Forum, Character forum, Strategy Forum, Off-Topic, Introduction, Meetups, Online matchmaking, fight matchups)

Anyone interested?

Isolating ourselves from the other Capcom games might not be a good idea. Don’t forget that SFxT is still has Street Fighter as its root. What we could do is to spur the interests of the Tekken players towards this game by posting in their official site, Tekken Zaibatsu. After all, that’s one of the main reasons why this game is developed in the first place.

I completely agree. Fans of Capcom fighters are going to check here first. Starting a brand new community on the internet would be difficult and redundant. I love the passion though. I’m hoping to get good enough to maybe stream some day but right now, I’m terrible and nobody will want to watch. Honestly I think one of the best things we can do is just try to up the activity on this forum, and maybe try to get people interested enough to buy the game.

Sounds good. Wish there was a way to make some more sub-forums of this area to make more of a community feel for SFxT. One problem is fans of other games coming here and bashing SFxT doesn’t make people want to post about how much they love this game! Trollers be trollin’

Oh don’t worry. People around here can fend off the trolls!

Besides, I feel that the community here on SRK will keep SFxT up and running for a long time. There is always something around the corner in these parts!

Thanks! Glad to here it. I hope to enter a tournament one day, even if I lose to a double perfect in the first round!

Oh man I am pretty shocked someone bumped my topic, but it feels good! Ironically I stuck with this game all 2012 but once 2013 Came around and broke all my characters I switched for competitive Tf2.

Can anyone give me an update as to how sfxt is doing right now? I imagined with the evo lock it was going strong but this topic makes me think maybe no? Are JiBbo and Ryan Hunter and the defense force still active or is there a new guard?

I’ve found that FingerCramp has some good SFxT character guide videos. Not sure about other things, though.

Fingercramp guides, unless there are recent ones, are really quite old and dated especially with the changes made in 2013. Are members of srk still trying to make all those mini guides for every character and put them on the main site? There was a big hullabaloo about that right when 2013 was about to drop.

What can we do to help get SFxT matches a good time slot on the EVO schedule?

I really have the urge to do something, but all I can do with my current setup is upload non hd match replays and tutorials for setups which don’t require great execution :frowning:
Maybe we need more character guides for the less used characters, or some hype compilation videos. There are so many outdated combo videos, too. I don’t know much about the situation in the US and PSN in general, but xbl in Europe is very inactive.
