To be fair, ssfevo has a whole bunch of varied characters. He usually just records the top psn ranked players so ryu/kazuya are common, but you can find everyone there.

I’d love to see a guide giving players a checklist on what to equip their team with, especially considering a lot of players will be switching their teams up come the 31st.
SFxT teams all need a pretty consistent/common ‘box of tools’ to be successful. Each team, at minimum, needs a good 6+ combos for each scenario based on life/meter of themselves/their opponents. It’d be really cool to create a pretty concise (even clinical) list of things to equip whatever team you play with, in order of necessity/importance.
ooh. I was planning in doing that, or at least covering the importance of it, in my stable thingy, but then otakon happened.
Speaking of, i am planning on giving out jibbo’s stream, youtube channel, and rawtag today, and maybe collect some psn and gamertag names of the better and most interested players. People cool with that?

For example
What different ‘strings’ do I need for each state of health/meter (hit confirms/punish combos/frametraps/mixups) <-- topic in itself
Can I combo off my alpha counter
What’s my best air-to-air and what should I do after an air-to-air knockdown
What are my best anti-airs at each range
What ways do I have to safely tag
What should I buffer when playing footsies
etc. etc.
This is a generic list for your own team but you could also extend this on what to know when learning a matchup
Do they have an invinvible reversal
Is there an obvious point to try and crush their lows with a launcher
Which is the safest way to block a particular mixup to minimise damage if I guess wrong
You get the picture. It’s pretty big checklist so may take a lot of forum suggestions to get a good list together.
I’m working on some guides on what you can use to punish on black and i have a bunch of video that i need help, or at least tips on editing. This will be my first time doing something like this, so any help would be appriciated
So there is a new sfxt streamer on twitch, check out ademusxp7 there. He will appreciate our support to keep it going I am sure.
Better yet, he is streaming an online singles tourney next weekend where the winner gets a $100 gift card. That is awesome, so we should help a brother out if we can.

I recently got done with some throw tech

Great video man! Shame many people do not see cadc and excadc like they do fadc yet. Characters vary on dash speed (obv) as well as how early they can dash out of their CA, so this is more useful for some rather than others.

Appreciate the effort put into the video, but I would have liked it to go deeper:
-Make examples where you cancel a block string into a CADC into throw, then do it again and cancel into an attack, and show how you get counterhit, if the opponent tries to tech/crouch tech for example.
-Show examples with command throws maybe?
-Show how early attacks in the air will wiff on opponents and open the opponent up for throws (example: Hugo: Super jump early splash)
-Early meaty attacks can fool opponents into thinking they will be in blockstun, but when it wiffs, it can open them up to throws.
-Show set ups that leaves you at +6 (so that the opponent will be grabbed on the first free frame) if you do it as fast as possible
Again, I like that you are putting effort into making a video like this! I just would want a video that focuses on throw setups, to dive into more variants, and maybe the theory around landing throws (training your opponent) etc:)
yeah the conditioning of your opponent is what leads into these throw set ups. sometimes you don’t need a cadc and it’s just as simple as walking up and chucking them. Cadc are risky because you’re leaving it up to your opponent to do something. I think excadc allot more pressure but it’s at the cost of meter. But it’s always good to see tech vids and you did a good job nonetheless. keep it up!
I think it is more a “hey look everyone, something you can do with throws!” Rather than a treatise on the subject. A treatise would be lovely though.
anyway Sim, was it you a long while back that talked about Hwoarang’s ex dynamite heel and how its double crossup can be great for wakeup games? Well after a hard kd, depending on his cadc rate and the like, do you think he can charge a heel and either be able to release it if they get up normally or cadc throw back if they roll? Even if you do not get the full chargeup time the heel is still safe on block so you do not sacrifice much, especially if you only do it when they are conditioned not to reverse.

Yes it was more of a “hey look what we can do!” Hmm I never thought I’d go deeper into it.I’ll hit the lab and see what kind of setups I can come up with. I have about two weeks before school so I’ll look into an “advanced tutorial”.
EDIT: And if anyone wants to figure some throw setups with their team I’d gladly use and give credit to them in the tutorial
cool, i think that is a really good idea. Thanks for the work either way
Just wrote a weird thing giving a short overview of Bob’s playstyle, strengths, weaknesses, and how he can be used to help his parther/synergy.
Bob’s Personal Ad: A short overview of his style and team synergy
I am planning to write these for many more characters if people would find them interesting, either in or out of character.

Wrote what I thought to be nice comments on Maximillion’s latest sfxt online warrior regarding llmhh combos (he called them the peak of the metagame), Vulcan’s Yoshi, and my thoughts on comeback mechanics (cross assault is a comeback mechanic exclusive for 2v2, giving them an additional option a solo player loses for the sake of much greater synergy between characters and therefore less of a need to comeback mechanic. That or get off your ass and learn a pandora combo or two. do not say it is situational and leave it at that, find a situation for it).
Name is lordsamvimes, upvote it if you honestly have nothing better to do ( ; ; ).
Also made a Paul monologue/overview.

Has anyone played with timer disabled? It’s great.
My circle of friends are not tournament players or anything, just play for bragging rights and fun. Nothing is fun about your opponent running away while the timer ticks away. Doing it yourself is only marginally fun.
Timer is also detrimental to any roleplay element you might imagine while playing. I mean, in a street fight, ain’t no person holding a stop watch. Oops 99 seconds has passed, now who took less damage? No, this is *Street Fighter, *there are no rules. Its two man enter, one man leave. Disabling timer just feels more hardcore. Nothing is going to save your ass. Only one person is walking away from this fight. You or your mate. Kill or be killed.
Also I think it changes the gem strategy you might employ. IMO, with timer, Fortitude gems are golden because your life is such a critical resource. More damage block = more damage they have to deal within 99 seconds.
With no timer, I feel Fortitude loses a little value. Yes, you are still increasing the damage they need to do. However suddenly having life doesn’t = winning. You could have 10,000 HP and you wouldn’t win until you deal lethal damage to your opponent. Thus, I think meter gems are more useful. Meter can be used to increase your damage; damage dealt being the only thing that can end the match in your favour. I also think the flexibility of meter outweighs straight power gems.
Anyways figured I’d just bring it up. Perhaps a better way to introduce the game to someone lest they be put off by time outs. No newbie’s have maximised damage combos or anything so time outs might be more prevalent.
The problem is that matches could take even longer (as least they did when I tried that). Also if you run into a Zangief/Hugo/Marduk with health gems its going to take forever if you’re using a character with less than spectacular damage output.
@ thread topic:
Just keep playing the game, upload videos/make new content, and show up for tournaments, locals, majors.
Also, get friends to play the game. You can do this by:
You devious, devious man.
Decided to update my guides too be devoid of character but with much more organized information.
