I had some up but these (and others recently) keep showing up black on utube for some reason. I’ll try again later tonight.
Sounds like we need a Blakna thread. I’l make one now
I’m trying to learn Rose, so I’m trying to limit the number of moves I use until I get more familiar with using them. It’s been said that C.MP and DF.MK (slide) are two of her best moves, and I do seem to hit people a fair amount with them, but I’m a little unsure of what to do after that. What do you do after you get close or hit them with the slide? What is there to do after C.MP, besides soul spiral?
Also, what are the differences between the L, M, and H versions of soul spiral and soul throw? Should I usually stick with the L version or are the M or H versions also useful? As a beginner, should I just forget about soul throw and use C.HP for the time being?
First off, use ALL of her moves. Not using isn’t going to make you familiar with them any faster.
And it really depends on how/where you hit them with the slide. It can be used as a tick throw tool if done meaty. You pretty much always want to hit from clos to max range with it since it’s unsafe even on hit. If you hit with it around max ranfe, I find that doing c.lk,c.mp into drill(some characters you need to do ex drill for it to combo)/spark/super
As for the sparks. I use lp spark like 96% of the time. THe only real reason that I can see using the other two versions is to throw off peoples timing on fa’s or jumping over them and also delaying your blockstrings in hopes that they eat the spark.
Thanks. I know about spark though, I was asking about spiral and throw. I figure that it’s similar, the heaver ones have a longer startup but do more damage? But I was wondering what situations would call for using the light vs heavy spiral or throw.
All spirals do the same damage, even ex version. Bue yea, they’re used to change up the timing in your block strings. Just know that her drills aren’t safe, so don’t get too greedy.
I dunno about you guys, but I throw all the damn time. If for no other reason, to show that I’m not afraid of SRK’s/360’s. THis has worked remarkably well for me. Once I do that, baiting becomes mad easy and it also makes them afraid on their wakeup since their go-to move isn’t all that great of a threat. If that made any sense that is…
Like tonight, I got a knockdown on GEEF and proceeded to throw him 3 times in a row. One tick throw, and 2 straight up walk up throws.:lovin: Next knockdown, I used lp spark and mixup up from there
anyone here think rose beats chun for free?
seems like she has a lot of tools to stuff her.
seems like a 6-4 matchup at worst.
I throw like 3 times each match. Dont know why exactly, seems like her best option most of the time when close to break though defense. Guess I overdo it though, I start eating a lot of low shorts lately.
Vega is starting to be a real pain.
His dives can be grabbed easily with soul throw, but when it’s the horizontal thing you get killed. So ye, thats anooying. Didn’t find a (visual or auditive) difference between them yet on startup.
I find the S MK/HK to be nice against slides though.
Can you elaborate on how you play chun’s? They give me a rough time, because they are pretty turtly and her normals come out quick. Plus that flip kick/overhead/air throw seem to get me a decent amount. I haven’t played many good ones, but I always seem to take the wrong approach when I do.
The amount of horizontal travel and fakeouts he can do on the wall dive/izuna are crazy. A buddy of mine was saying FA plays a big part in this match, but FA isn’t going to stop you getting Izuna’ed. I suppose this is because he doesn’t use Izuna often, just the claw strike from above.
Can Izuna grab standing and ducking opponents? maybe with very late timing?
Ye, the horizontal one can be countered with FA and the rest with soul throw (except ig he does a safe one). Trouble is recognizing the correct one
I probably throw too much, but it’s a good way to punish bad shoto players. I am however struggling to think of a way to combat good Cammy players with Rose.
It’s good to see i’m not the only rose player who hores out throws like it’s my job. I’m always getting told “you throw too damn much” or “stop throwing” I can’t really think of too many other ways of getting through a turtle other than that. Half the time I’m expecting them to attempt a throw on me so I’m just trying to Tech
Basically have her come to you. She doesn’t have fb so she’ll need to close it to cause any damage. Punish blocked cannon spikes with f.hk. I think EX soul throw beats cannon arrow. Remember to block low most of the time as her hooligan throw only works on people who are standing. Someone here also mentioned that you can HP soul throw her spinning backfist while she’s in the air.
As for shotos/sagat Im feeling absorbing fbs is a nice way to deal with them. easy and makes the game look real better for you in 3 or 4 fbs absorbed.
I have alot of problems facing dictator…
His headstomp and scissor kicks keep so much pressure on me I feel helpless T_T
Head stomp can be beaten easy. Kicks can be beaten with c.mp, it’s just risky cuz if you throw it out and he doesn’t do it…:wasted:
If you can keep Bison away, he can’t do much to you. When he comes at you with head stomp, j.hk him and he has to try again. Also if you go on the offensive sometimes after resetting him, he gets scared and that means throw mixups!!!
Also, throwing seems to rosk pretty freakin well against Blanka for some reason. Maybe I had the 2 Blankas I played tonight spooked, but I was choke slammin bitches like nobody’s business:rofl:
Good Cammy users will be trying to poke you instead abusing her unsafe specials or mindlessly spamming jumps (Soul Throw >>>> Predictable jumping habits). Try to stick to the ground, keep her away with smart use of s rh, and punish her if she uses her specials.
