Art’s the only Rose player who’s actualy vocal about SF4 as a hole on a stream. Along with Rose/Sim getting that nerfbat from Super>AE.
And actually one of the very few to not sugar coat shit about this game.
I’ve never heard Art once complain about SSF4.
Because SSF4 was a good game.
Then AE came along.
That’s what i’m saying. Art was pretty much the only one actually saying AE was just a big pile of shit for most of the cast. Especially his characters. Granted we all knew it, he pretty much just threw it out there constantly.
regardless, the “Capcom hates Art” thing was a joke.
It’s amazing really, this is such a small and fair list of buffs we ask for. Nothing insane, or broken, or anything that would make Rose top tier and yet still, they only manage to give us one of these. There are so many more great things that people have mentioned here, like being able to combo into U1 off a HP Reflect, or full fireball invincibility during U1 start up.
I would like to add that I’m not ungradeful about the buffs we’re getting, because they are free. One again though, compared to the other characters and their buffs, it just won’t hold up.
I’m praying they don’t increase the hitboxes on U2’s ultra. That’ll make the ultra ass lol. NOOOO my throw gimmicks =(. This is still version alpha. So hopefully version beta does a way better job of making the top tiers good and making this bottom tier better than mediocre.

Easier combos with bigger hitbox tbh.
But for the combos to work you would need to hit them already or they’d need to press a button, a thing most are reluctant to do. The only thing that opens them up since Rose doesn’t have an overhead is a throw. IMO, U2 with smaller hitboxes make for easy as shit weaving and baiting. That way, you can get the orbs to rotate in front them whiffing and yet still be just 1 or 2 steps away from a throw. That’s essentially your goal. The threat of a throw force them to try to tech. And when they do tech, they essentially pressed a button and hopefully they get hit by the orbs for you to hit confirm into a combo.
With bigger hitboxes, all your getting is a blocked orb into a whiff throw followed by YOU getting punished. Either that or just blocked orbs since weaving with big hitboxes are just harder and less efficient. I’ll get right to putting up videos soon of me just baiting with U2 and going for tick throws and setups. Or maybe I should do a write up on how to CORRECTLY use the U2 throw gimmick. I see too many fails when I look up videos.
It’s not hard to do with the Super hitboxes, actually.
I’d rather have the big hitboxes to have cr fierce reflect fadc ultra work against any character :).
And it’s impossible to do far EX Spiral from a turnaround EX Spiral into soul throw because of smaller hitboxes.
And gimmicks with bigger hitboxes is better.
I just like bigger hitboxes so I don’t get thrown up too.
I’m one of the better players to go for big flashy FADC U2 combos :P, it’s just me missing the U2 hitbox.
The FA trap is IMPOSSIBLE to do with small hitboxes because you live way too big of a gap between Orb 1 and 2 >.>
I don’t know if my eyes are deceiving me, but I think I just saw a Rose do ultra 2 on wakeup and hit Blanka out of a meaty attack. On the location test stream.
no the blanka backdashed…I’m sure of it because he was airborne once he got hit by the orbs
some of you guys are really needy super u2 AND fully invincible ex drill? Be lucky you guys got buffs.
No one is saying they want both. Just either or. I’d prefer just having the invincible drill.
That makes no sense to not want to have a really good ultra, but to have an invincible move, that’s still baitable and unsafe. You guys are crazy. If Capcom asked which buff would you rather have. Super U2 would win in a landslide.

Why does everyone act like asking for a 1-13 invincible EX drill is so greedy? Its sad how asking for the tiniest improvement makes everyone freak the f out. EX drill being invincible does not turn it into a 3 frame, FADC->ultra cancellable, unblockable full screen grab that hits ground and airborne and does 550 damage. It turns it into a bad reversal that needs 3 bars to make safe, that does NOT lose randomly. Many characters have better moves than what is being asked for.
But anyway at this point I doubt Capcom would suddenly decide to give Rose some crazy game changing change. They would want all the new stuff out for the test location so it could be… tested. Right now they could get 1 person to hit mk and hk a few times, activate ultra and be done.
the problem with U2 is that no one respected it. I’ll keep saying it. People can say they’re glad it’s gone or not but that shit made people either stop doing OS or literally learn to pay attention to meter and try to bait it out. Again, not hard. Also not hard to take the chip and throws if you have the life lead (which generally is the case for a defensive U2)
EX drill getting a buff is not at all too much to ask. Not when people like Rufus have EX messiah to rely on every chance they get. Not only that, he gets another mixup if you blocked the initial first EX piece.
