For fucks sakes help U1. I literally baited a ryu player last night in casuals with spark FADC, saw the jump, U1, this guy was able to land in my face and block the fucking scarf. I stopped playing Rose at that very moment and just went back to Cody.
her specials are outdated. They literally just brought her over from Alpha 3 with no actual changes to the properties. and her ultras either have potential but Capcom won’t change their properties or just fuck it up cause Ryu10030344 doesn’t know how to block/bait/take shitty chip when 2 spinning orbs are around Rose.
Cody certainly isn’t viable all the sudden because of those small adjustments, his backspeed is still slow…bad spray has slow startup=stuffed. He’s just slightly better, other than speed and a situational wake-up there’s not much to talk about. Knife is useful in a few matchups…he too needs some kind of reversal.
Cody was already a good character in AE. They buffed him a lot more than you think.

I think a walk speed increase is big for Cody. He already has some awesome counter hit setups and frame traps… Can you imagine even with a little bit more speed how deadly he can be?
Not to mention all the new combos he can do with all his adjustments.
No need to copy and paste the changes I know them. Do you play Cody? Zonk>Ultra was already easy, Overhead only combos on a standing opponent…useless, as I said before Bad Spray is stuffable, not sure where you got MK Ruffian crouching thing, but im not gonna go into it in a Rose thread. In the end Cody has no true reversal and still dies vs heavy pressure, Rose shares these problems. If you cant deal with pressure in this game, the character wont get too far.
I agree, I’ve missed landing U1 countless times when I saw the jump coming, or baited it with a Spark and I was just late by a micro-second.
To be honest, I personally want this fix more than the EX Drill buff we’re also not even getting.
Basically what I’m trying to say is Cody was good in AE, better than Rose, and he got better buffs than Rose. Do you disagree with that?
And yes, he can’t deal with pressure as well as some characters but he can dish out a ton of his own pressure… Again, much better than Rose is able to.
lol how is EX ZONK not a true reversal? 16 startup 16 invulnerability. EX SPIRAL 13 startup 11 invulnerability. Though EX ZONK is slower, I don’t think it matters once you get to double digit startup. I mean from 3 frames to 4/5 frames is a big deal. But once you get into the double digit startup, you realize these moves aren’t meant to punish cr. shorts and shiet. Try getting SPD’d out of your reversal a few times and then you’ll feel our pain.
Though I can’t comment on Cody’s changes or new placement on version 2012’s stierlist, I will say Rose ain’t going nowhere. If things stay the way they are, she’s still the same old rose.
I do think that movespeed adjustments are going to be huge. Tick throws, weaving, the Gooteck shimmy, frame traps, all that are going to improve. Now whether it improves a lot or not we’ll have to see after everything’s said and done but **I **think it’s going to be huge.
You rose players should stop talking about cody since you clearly don’t understand the character or how his changes effect him, zenfluence actually knows what he is talking about.
I don’t know much about Cody, nor will I ever know much about Cody. I do know a lot about Rose however and I do know that she’s not a better character than Cody.
All i’m saying is that EX ZONK is a true reversal. The invul(16) covers the startup(16). EX SPIRAL isn’t a true reversal. The invul(11) doesn’t cover the startup(13).
Whether it is a better reversal is arguable though, that I will say. It is still however, a true reversal.
I meant no interjection, just pointing out something…hopefully this acts as a usual “loketest” ( ie TTT2, BlazB) and there will other versions before anything final. They apparently need more player input in getting some of these characters right. SRK people def. still need to have some input goin into Capcom unity forums…2012 ain’t here yet.
This is AE, you either rushdown or be rushdowned. Most characters who are in a position to guess against mixup characters are going to lose anyways. At least Cody has amazing damage output and good offense.
Like I stated in my long post, Rose (or any character) doesnt have to excel in every field. Having Rose getting crushed when she’s getting pressured/ in corner and not having good offense…this doesn’t add up in my head.
I can always live with having problem with defense if Capcom decides to buffs Rose’s offense capabilities. But I would prefer having an “ok” offense and boosting her mediocre defense to AT LEAST “bad-ok” defense than having mediocre defense and outstanding damage/pressure because of her low health and the way her special moves are right now
Cody got more fixes than buffs. (like overhead being safe on hit) though he’s still as free on wakeup as rose. Ex zonk is ass for a reversal (osed to death like ex spiral). What makes up for his ass defense is his great pressure and rushdown once he has the momentum. They both still have to block. Bad spray helps a bit but you still can’t throw it out there whenever.
Basically rose doesn’t have anything to make up for her poor defense.
So they fix adon and juri focus attack so it hits slides and low hitbox moves, yet don’t fix rose’s?

So… can anyone agree with me that super was a really balanced game and they should just go back to that, except for a few things (like ryu’s c.mk). So if they go back to that I’m happy.
Maybe… to stop all the bickering with invicibilty on ex spiral just give her backdash back from Vanilla. Do that and I’ll shutup and be even more happy. (I’m happy about the soul piede and meter build back too).
