C HP, all the time.
c.hp fits the bill a lot
ex.soul throw is not a great choice but it gets the job done
s.hk is also an option but it’s hard to use
cf.mk is a decent option too but it won’t work all the time.
Slide works at EVERY jump in that isn’t a safe jump or an attack the aims down.
s. hk actually works really well but it usually comes out when you’re not even trying to make it come out. ;].
But one that people don’t get is that if you’re anticipating a jump / your opponent’s character is floaty, you can slide cr. hp instantly
ive been using mp reflects alot lately, not to reflect fireballs but to knock the guy far screen so i can get them to the corner, whats everyone’s thoughts on this? useful or not really?
Yeah I often do it by accident but I do try to actively land it sometimes. I asked about this when I first came to this forum and Luffy said he likes it too for that fact. Said it could only really combo off of a few close normals like c.lp, s.mk, s.hp, c.hp and maybe two more. Definitely useful for that corner pressure since we dash forward so far and so fast after it lands.
How are you setting it up? In a combo/cancel? Dash in? I like the possibility, but I think I’d prefer more damage over spacing, if used in a combo. Maybe if reflect as a combo ender worked on every character, I’d try it out more.
Corner games are important against a few characters for sure, but EX kind of nullifies any frame trap, or other attack sequence. At least would be good to bait the EX, or maybe input U2 to prevent them trying any EX anything.
One useful setup to HP reflect I found is DASH, C LP xx HP reflect. Works wonders in the corner as it gives you a free ST. Or Ultra 2. Mix it up with dash to throw.
Can you knock Rose out of U2 in the first 5 frame before its active or is she invincible for those 5 frames.
Unless your attack is already out and hitting Rose pre freeze and the Rose player doesn’t block after the Ultra activation, she won’t get hit.
Though most Rose players aren’t going to do something post freeze unless it’s something punishable. It’s just better to block and let them eat a orb then followup.
lol having some rose troubles there predster?
Is there something different with Rose’s Focus Attack than the rest of the cast? I tend not to get an FADC off her moves most of the time? I mean, she just keeps charging her Focus Attack even though I did the dash at the same time that I would with all the other characters.
Perhaps you input the dash too early, before tha FA actually begins. Try delaying your FA a tiny bit after a soul spark.
That happens to me too.
I mash back dash and it still doesn’t come out unfortunately, it’s weird, cost me a few matches.
dashing too early.
it seldom happens with spark, unless of course the match depends on it then you never know, but trying to cancel a blocked drill i do it all the time and dont back dash out of the FA. dashing is still weird for me, even a regular dash wont come out sometimes and rose will just stand there and jitter a little bit.
I’ve got a question about Rose’s Soul Sparks: when should I be using which Spark? Sometimes I use the light then FADC out of it and chase it but otherwise I have been using the medium version. Should I use the heavy, and when?
Heavy is best used to meaty someone on wakeup. Since it has fast recovery, used correctly, you can do some great things to people on wakeup. Other than that…probably just stick to LP and MP from farther out.
Heavy is also pretty good from far away. You can bait people into doing a fireball-bypassing move when they react to the fireball, then catch them with a soul throw, c.HP or U1 even.
Only problem I have, at least when playing online, is people are so willing to jump… like all the time, so I get screwed by using heavy spark. Get your mind games in there.
Guys i was asking my self if rose has a Kara Throw
if she does, how can i do it?
she doesn’t have one. Though Rose’s throw range is already pretty fat anyway.
lol yeah. Rose’s kara throw is her throw. I think she’s tied with Vega for the best ranged normal throw in the game.
