So do people ever really use forward+roundhouse? I think someone mentioned on this thread that it’s used as anti-air or anti-crossup? Is that right? Are there any other uses? What makes it different from other attacks?
It’s pretty good at catching people ogg guard from max range. It works wonders against GEEF. It also can tatch people trying to jump, scoring you a knockwodn. I also am usually able to do one or two f=rh attacks and then either sweep/dash in/soul spark/ jump in in anticipation of some sort of retalliation. You just gotta feel out who you are fighting, you’ll know what to do and when to do it.:bluu:
What? that move is badass. I use it like Luigi said, even at round start occasionally. It’s also -1 on block if I remember right.
Mannnnn. So I was playing a badass GEEF last night. I managed to land aj.mk c.lp, c.lp c.lk. c.mp ,ex drill BUT the ex drill didn’t combo! I thought that shit connected no matter what. I got that same combo again and it worked the second time. WTF?
PSN players hit up Tubsy3 for some good GEEF matches. He didn’t beat my Rose, but he’s probably sthe best GEEF I’ve played still. All the matches were good ones. He actually does ex hand juggles, and now I don’t like them.:bluu:

also if you could break down what it counters in terms of other characters special moves
I dunno all the details, but the higher the strength the further it travels. Also the higher the strength, the safer it is on block (except for ex). They’re great for blockstrings/combos. I dunno if they outright counter anything, but they can trade with tuns of stuff if you like doing that.
They can counter a couple of things, like Cammy’s leg drill or what if timed right and also Geef’s lariat if timed right as well. I can’t think of the others right now.
wait the hk goes furthest and is the least punishable? so there is no reason to ever use lk?
Going by the frame data chart, the hk has the longest startup of all the spirals. So it might not combo after certain hits whereas the lk would.
exactly. close to them, cr.MP > hk drill will not work, but lk will. Farther away, lk drill will whiff. There’s a time and a place for all of them.
It’s like her sparks, the light version is fastest, but the stronger versions have better recovery. You can throw a HP spark, other guy reacts by jumping at you, but unless they jumped early enough it’s possible for you to recover from the projectile and ultra them. Without FADC. If it was a LP spark, you’d still be reeling back from throwing it and might get hit by their jump-in.
Ohhh thats why I couldnt ever do that. Just by my luck I do lp spark more than mp or hp. This explains why I could never tag people with the ultra when they jump. Thanks!
Well…yeah, but it’s not exactly free/guaranteed. You have to kinda know the situation. Eventually, you’ll play Rose long enough to just look at the screen and judge instantly that the other guy’s hitbox will be vulnerable long enough for you to wrap your scarf around them.
yeah i had never bothered to pay too much attention but its seems like i should, using hp SS to bait them into a jump might be useful, at least it’d keep me from using half my bar on fadc just to have them block it
So I won a match against Ryu where in one round I ultra’d through a fireball, and in the other round I supered through a fireball (it didn’t just cancel the fireball, I saw his fireball pass through me after I killed him). Both times totally by accident, since I wasn’t aware either the super or the ultra would allow you to pass through fireballs. So what’s the timing on this? Is this something I could use, or did I just get lucky and shouldn’t try it again?
Ultra through fireball is really awkward imo. Only seems to work when you get them really early. You need to grab them before the fireball hits you AFAIK, after that you are invulnerable.
Super always works, unless you do it really late maybe. Normally super loses 1 hit for each fireball it absorbs.
dunno why but the past couple days I’ve been using the shir out of far mp. It’s a lot better than I thought it was. Yeah you can’t cancel it, but you guys should mess with it and see how it works for you:tup:
Dunno if this has been already posted but last night i kept using ex soul drill to phase through fireballs when timed right like TAP. I don’t if this was because of lag or a common thing that you could do.
Yea, it works but I don’t use it because the window to go through stuff is so small I feel more comfortable just blocking/FA’ing.
Only time I use ex drill is in combos.
I’ve noticed myself using lp spark fdac a lot more towards the end of a match. It always works for me since people are always ready to jump over them. Just fdac and pop em with c.hp ftw:tup:
Thanks for the heads up with that. I usually do lp spark and bait them into to jump and try to land a soul drill right before they land. It works, but not all the time, especially when they get used to it.
Dont know if this has already been discussed but what do you is better for an AA, c.hp or f.hk?
