when trying to tech a throw it depends on if youre holding db or just back. if youre crouching you need to tech a split second later than you normally would if you were just holding back. i was noticing it a lot lately and started looking into it then Juicebox had a blog he posted all about throwing and he said the same thing in it. so i think its accurate.
about plinking, ive just started using it myself too. st mp to cr mp it works wonders, ive been able to actually link it in online matches with plinking. the great thing about using it in cr. lp, cr. lk, cr. mp, drill is if you mess up you will get a cr. lp, cr. lk, cr. lp, drill. its like getting rewarded for messing up, pretty bitchin. also, that makes it easier to actually connect the link since it is obvious if youre doing it too late (cr. mp blocked) or too early (cr. lp hit) and you just work from there on your timing.
if you get the c.lp instead of c.mp it’s because you did the plink itself too slow, not the link too early or too late. I’m not consistent with plinking and I get this a lot. I need to tap the buttons quicker after eachother. Currently I do it more like the way you would pull off the hundred hand slap, which is wrong;
If your fighting juri you can use j.mk,st.mp,cr.lp,cr.mpxxSSpiral (lk) for 248 damage. It doe the same dame as j.mk,st.mp,cr.mpxxSSpiral but its easier since st.mp to cr.mp is a 3f link and dont know why cr.lp combo to cr.mp on juri but it does (i think its hitbox issue). (It worked better with jump in but its not required)
Thats what i said thought i was seeing things but it works and the stun is decnt to i cant remeber off the top. I did it by accident practicng my 1f before my online and lately i have been using random character dummies, it came up as juri i did this from cross up the first time an was like nah i must have did something wrong. 4 tires later and i could do it like nothing at all. Try it im tellin you it works, but i think its charcter specific so anybody else it might just be a great frame trap. (so long as they dont have invinc or armor).
what is roses most damaging combo off of a jumping rh/fierce -> ultra 2 -> ?
WIth meter and without meter.
ive just been doing slide into cr.mp ss without meter and with meter fadc soul spark into cr.fierce x spiral
Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere, but in a video I saw Gootecks ending combos and strings by “comboing” into reflects. They didn’t even connect. I’m just wondering if anyone knows why? He did it several timesso I’m assuming it couldn’t have been an executional mistake. Is it a way to end a string safely? or build extra meter? I was really surprised by this and hasn’t seen it before. Any idea?
(for reference, the video was that one he posted on facebook where he and Mike Ross played a few XBL randoms)
Its not impossible i wouldnt have wrote it if i couldnt recreate it. I got a feelin your trollin me but if you arent and you dont believe me u can add me pick juri and ill show u but really its not that hard to just do it in training mode.
Are you sure? The only reason I wonder is he does it like 4+ times, more often than not doing it. And say what you want about Gootecks, he’s good enough that him messing up his combo so badly almost every time comes as a surprise to me. <shrug>
The j.mk -> s.mp -> cr.lp -> cr.mp -> lk spiral juri-only combo definitely does work, crossup or not. I just did it 4 times in training mode. Juri has to be standing.
It works because the cr.lp whiffs on the first active frame, making it connect meaty, allowing a 1-frame link into cr.mp. However, since this combo does no more damage than just s.mp -> cr.mp xx spiral there’s no reason to do it. Also, on Juri since cr.lp whiffs on its first active frame this combo involves two 1 frame links: s.mp -> meaty cr.lp, and meaty cr.lp -> cr.mp.
Also for some reason drill xx super -> u2 doesn’t work on Juri, at least in the corner.
Next time someone posts a combo try it before you say it doesn’t work. There are plenty of combos in this game that shouldn’t work if you just look at frame advantage and startup numbers. Guile b.hk -> s.hp, Dudley meaty f.hk -> cr.mp, Dudley f.hp -> s.hk, Makoto meaty cr.lk -> U1, Chun’s hk -> mk legs combos, etcetera.
Wasn’t an execution mistake, he was ending the block string that way just to make people freak and mash something stupid out. I’m fairly certain he mentions that at some point in one of the vids anyway.
It’s definitely not the wisest thing to try more than once against a smart player, but against someone who mashes shoryu’s all day long, I guess it could work? Haven’t really tested it, so I’m just guessing on this one.
(Edit) U2 after Drill xx Super in the corner works on Dudley if you dash or slide, just checked it.
well indeed kikuilalala proved it. I forgot to calculate the possibility of meaties due to weird hitbox behavior, sorry. I will think twice before declaring something impossible next time
