Rose Combos and Glitches

Found a bug in training mode where Rose can link two Ultra2s together causing her to have 4 orbs rotating at the same time. It requires the Revenge Meter to be set to INFINITE.

So I caught a couple people who landed on my fireballs with soul throw today. I already knew this worked, but I’ve been more mentally prepared to land it. Anybody else having success with it?

I would never have thought to try this unless I saw it happen in a video. Thanks metro. I’ll try to make a consious effort to do it aswell. I guess its like them landing on a orb.

I’ve also gotta start remembering corner soul piede > ST

I did it yesterday on an opponent while warming up before a tournament.

He didn’t have much health left, so I did Soul Spark, FADC, Soul Throw. I assumed since he wouldn’t have survived the Soul Spark if he blocked it, so I would be ready with a Soul Throw if he jumped. Anyways, he waited til the last moment, tried to jump over the Soul Spark, but ate it on the way up, and then my Soul Throw caught him since he was put in a juggled state :rock:

U can plink it for sure. Wont make it 100% foolproof but doubles your chances for nailing the link. Just know that its never a true block string.

Is anything a true block string in this game?

What is Rose’s highest stun FADC combo and highest damage FADC combo and does it do more stun and damage than comboing super and ultra together?

On that note what is the highest damage super and ultra combo combined?

I just found a funny glitch, don’t know if you know it yet, but here it is:

I was sliding in on Chun while i had orbs and Chun activated U2. I was like damn, it’s gonna hit me since I was still sliding, but to my surprise, one of the Orbs hit her Kikosho and it just made poof and disappeared like it was a regular projectile and Chun was left defenseless.

I felt really awkward after that.

Um. It’s not a glitch, it’s the hitbox of the ultra already being on Chun-Li before Kikosho came out.

It’s the same thing with the hitbox of slide vs Rog’s ultra 1, hitbox of slide vs Rose’s U1, Rose’s slide vs Chun Li’s ultra 1.

I didn’t hit her. My Orb touched the tip of the Kikosho and disappeared as well. Like when it hits a normal projectile. No damage done to Chun. You could also hear that sound it does when hitting a projectile. The slide didn’t hit her either because of invincibility frames.

That’s some solid orb then :slight_smile:

PS: slide vs Rose ultra 1 has nothing to do with early loss of invincibility, but rather due to the fact that Ultra1’s hitbox is a rectangle that hits quite high, so slides just travel under, like Blanka’s.

my guesses for hit confirm combo:

  1. c.lpx3 to LK soul spiral
  2. c.lp, c.lk, c.mp to LK soul spiral

best punish combo?

i started with c.lp cuz i guess it’s 3 frames? should I always start with c.lp or should i start with c.lk combos even tho it’s 4 frames just for the low hit?

it may be obvious enough, but you can also activate u2 if someone jumps on one of your ssparks and if youre in the right spot dash in and they will connect. im not sure but i think it takes away juggle possibilities though, i cant remember, so super and st may not connect afterwards, i think it can though just dont want to say for sure if im wrong, but if its near the end of the round it could win you the match.

i sometimes have trouble doing the bnb cr.lp, cr.lk, cr.mp. what button should i be p linking mp with to get it to come out easier? I know this link is easy but i don’t have a way to really sit down and practice it.

Plink mp with lp. It’s <3, since I started plinking, I rarely miss that link anymore, same with s.mp, c.mp, lk/mk drill.

I just started messing with rose as a secondary and I hit this nasty combo it was cross up j.mk ,U2 ,walk them to a corner let the two orbs hit, cr.fp ,f.soul reflect xx super.I haven’t seen it from the few roses I face so just something I am throwing in.

Corner combo for U2: Activate U2 -> first orb hits -> s.hk -> second orb hits -> cr.hp xx hp reflect -> Soul throw. Or be uncool and end with hk spiral to keep them in the corner.

Only real reliable U2 combo midscreen I have is Activate -> first orb hits -> slide -> second orb hits -> cr.mp/cr.hp xx soul spiral.

Also I think crossup -> s.mp -> cr.mp xx drill might be a better blockstring than the 3-hit because it does more damage. Also, apparently it’s a 1 frame link but it really feels like a 2 to me. I dunno.
