They made it artificially difficult because the move is so godlike.
This.
Funny thing is you can do the shortcut for Rose’s soul spark super (in reverse of course) this is the only way I can get it in combos on the left side.
Sorry if this has been answered before but I only picked Rose after doubting between her and Gen for awhile in Super.
Is it possible to do Reflector > Soul Throw? I can only do so in the corner…but maybe my timing is way off :).
Yes it’s possible mid screen: HP reflect - FADC - Soul throw.
Aww Not really worth the damage then is it?
It’s really not. and the reflect hitbox hasn’t been increased, so it’s hard to tell if it’ll work or not. Some characters just can’t get hit with reflect after a normal either. So unless you’re playing against a character it does work on, and happen to know you’re at the right range where the reflect will hit, and the ST will K.O., it’s not worth it.
If you have U2, then that might make a bigger difference in terms of utility.
Kinda sorta near the corner: cr. mp/cr. mk/whatever xx SS , FADC, cr. hp xx hp reflect into hp ST.
Loving the carry distance to the corner from FADC combos. Let’s you surprise people with those ST combo-enders.
Not a combo but I just got me EX ST stuffed by Dudley’s jumping rh a few minutes ago. I thought this move was invincible all the way up? Am I wrong?
The first six frames only.
Actually, according to the new hitbox screen captures, it’s invincible for the first 7 frames now, and it grabs on frames 6 and 7. That’s why it seems so buff.
Therefore, it’s better to do EX soul throw on deep jump ins, and regular soul throws against opponents mid jump. (Especially if they are below her arm).
Don’t know if any of these are known since the user who created this thread hasn’t updated since 2009 (I think someone DEDICATED should create a seperate thread, sort of how the Dudley board is doing), but U2 is pretty awesome.
cr.HP xx MP SS xx HP Super, (fit in a dash or df.mk) U2 = 586 dmg 238 stun
LP SS xx Super, 2 dashes, U2 = 561 dmg 50 stun (works from fullscreen if they’re in corner, dunno if you’d ever use it tho)
cr.LP, cr.LK, cr.MP xx LP SS xx Super, U2 = 435 dmg 228 stun
(if you use MP Rflct, timing is a lot more strict, MP and EX Rflct and only works in corner. Not worth it to use any of those punches, not sure if LP Rflct works too.)
cr.HP xx MP/HP/EX Rflct, (FADC if not in corner) U2, HP ST = 439 dmg 348 stun
cr.HP xx MP/HP/EX Rflct, U2, Super = 523 dmg 288 stun (only in corner)
cr.MP xx LP SS xx HP Super, U2 = 539 dmg 175 stun
I’m pretty sure all those combos have been mentioned before. It’d be nice, in a sense, to have a new thread where all Rose information was in the first post, but I kind of like the fact that a person needs to look through our posts to find the information. Seems more coven-like.
Sigh, I’d prefer ease of use. I’d really wanna try some of the ridiculous combos you guys found, especially with U2. ):
The best combo I have found for U2 is:
cr.HP xx lp.Soul Spark > FADC > U2 > cr.HP xx Soul Spiral… Does 446 dmg mid screen. And pretty easy to do.
I dont know if this has been mentioned but if your without meter to FADC and have your oppent cornered you can use Hp.SSpark in your U2 combos. U2 will make the Hp.SSpark combo to Cr HP.
For Ex. i did j.HpxxSSatalite,Cr.HpxxHpSpark-link-Cr.HpxxSReflectxxST for iirc 506 damage. The Cr.HPxx at the end is a link (1-2f) so you have to be on point, you can sub it for Cr.MpxxSSpiral which is alot easier and its iirc 456-460 somethin. You can also use Cr.HpxxSSpiral i dont know the damage becaue it was late and i kept fluffin up the link but you get the gist of it.
So if your like me and your meter cheap these coner combos might be somthing you like or if for some reason you have your opponent cornered and have U2 and no meter heres a way to make the most of what you got.
Technically the Satellite doesn’t make the HP Spark -> cHP link work. It works normally and is now a 2-frame link; it was 1f in vanilla because of cHP’s old startup.

You can also link Satellite off of HP Spark as U2 has the same startup as cHP.
I don’t see why you would use HP SSpark or HK SSpiral as they are both much slower then there light version and provide no additional damage.
It gives you different options. Let’s say you jump in with jHP and activate U2 when you land. Going into cHP xx HP Spark allows you a longer meterless combo since the Spark will hit after the second orb and allows you to link off of it. So the actual order of hits would be:
jHK {activate U2}, cHP {xx HP Spark}, orb, orb, HP Spark, cMP, LK Spiral
Whereas if you had gone MP or LP Spark they don’t have the guaranteed followups meterless. These are still being researched though. HK Spiral isn’t particularly useful outside of being able to link U2 off of it situationally; hitting in deep in the corner gives you another nice meterless U2 combo such as:
cHP xx HK Spiral -> U2, orb, orb -> Soul Throw
Oh no pasqual i didnt say that SSatilite makes the Hp.Spark link to cr.HP. I was saying that activating SSatilite will allow Cr.Hp to combo to Hp.SSpark where it normaly doesnt. After the spark hits you just do the normal link that you would do if you landed a Hp.SSpark in the corner. (though this hardly happens due Hp.SSpark not combing into Cr.HP)
I’m going to have to test and see if cr.hp xx lp.SSpark > FADC > U2 > cr.hp xx hp.SSpark > cr.mp xx lk.SSprial works. Sounds likely giving what you said but I’m not sure as with this combo the orbs hit at the same time as your cr.hp and not after.
EDIT:
Not even close.
