Yeah, definitely need to take in some resources. There’s a lot to learn and most of it is not intuitive. You’ve played a new fighting game before, so feel it out like you would any other… Also the vesperarcade trial videos helped give me an idea on execution and timing of the combos. So check those out if you want. Just don’t bang your head against the trials since they get pretty ridiculous.
So I’m gonna start playing Billy as well and may pick up another character to have 2 different teams but I may just put Shen on both of my teams because he is good like that. Still not as good as Hwa “everything I have is safe and Manny knows it” Jai.
Billy seems gimicky, doesn’t do big damage, his elevator move is unsafe if not in a combo his playstyle is the “I-have-an-annoying-move-that-is-safe-so-im-going-to-abuse-it-until-you-can-respond-to-it”. He will definitely drop in tiers as the game progresses once more people figure out how to counter him properly.
Also, Hwa’s moves are all unsafe. DP is unsafe, horizontal knee is unsafe, and his slide is unsafe. So there :P.
Hey guys! Blacksburg is throwing down in a couple of weeks; it’d be cool if some of you guys came down to hang out/get bodied. =P
What? No you should learn HD combos first its the best part of the game
Hey John/Patrick. What hotel are you guys staying in Richmond for Civil War 4? I decided to go but I’m not staying at that crappy hotel thats hosting it. It has crazy bad reviews about bed bugs.
Staying at the Double Tree
Lets just all crash in one room. It’s the cool thing to do.
Also, gg’s tonight Manny. 0-11 is a learning experience to say the least but thanks for not going easy on me. My KoF handle may officially be “Needs3Maximas”.
I agree. You should drop him.
Lol, why the Clark hate? He’s so awesome
No, hate. However, he’s just as you described him.
I should of specified I guess. Hwa’s normals like Billy’s are safe. Hwa is basically Billy with out the Kane but anyway I’m gonna pick him up and play him to atleast give us some play against he shannigans and who knows I may put him on my team.
I would love to come down there however I don’t believe I will be able to because my finances are about to take a shot in the nuts.
Guh, KoF is so strange. I’d like to try it, but I don’t know if I could/should learn another system right now.
Its the best game out right now. Give it a shot
Who are you again? Depends what you want out of a fighting game. KoF is easily the most skill oriented game to be released recently, but that isn’t always what a player wants. If you want a much much easier/casual game, SFxT is the way to go lol.
Hey guys. I settled on a team for now I think. Maxima/King/Elisabeth. I really REALLY like Maxima and Elisabeth, and I’ve got King’s non HD BNB’s down pretty well. I won’t be there tomorrow night, but I’m going on Saturday to the UVA tourney, so if anyone wants to get together on Friday night or anything to play some I’m down. I’ll probably enter SFxTK and Marvel and KoF just to play some games there.
I’m the new guy that just showed up last week. I’m actually really bored of SFxT, it’s too simple. I’ve seen what the KoF trials make you do though, and it scares me.
That said, there are some characters I really like just from what I’ve seen. Raiden, Clark, Maxima, Goro…
You’re on the right track already. >:)
Dimetri (sp?) right? All slow, but heavy hitters. I feel the same way about SFxT. I can’t enjoy a fighting game with such a flat learning curve.
I’m playing King now also. She does great damage anywhere on the screen and her HD combos are relatively easy, but you have to vary it based on screen position. Her biggest weakness is defense since she has no solid reversal without meter.
That’s me! (Demetri, but whatever) No surprise I liked them, slow hitters/grapplers are what I tend towards. I tried it today, and it’s really obtuse. I have no idea what all these fancy symbols in combos mean. I think I’d need someone to actually show me what things are.
