I’m playing Chun/Julia right now. Chun on point with meter and defense gems to set up Julia coming in with Damage gems. Been beating the shit out of noobs online… These Day 1 people. SHORYUKEN! SHORYUKEN!
Learning the Tekken guys is fun. It’s basically 20 new characters I’ve never used before. It’s awesome. The Trials help A LOT for learning them. That’s the best thing to do I think. I’m going to visit the gf tomorrow, I might be back Thursday, but maybe not. We’re running games Sunday I believe at Patrick’s. His Viewlix cab should be done by then. Hype will be had.

heres my day 1 Sfxt.

So I’ve heard Nina has a messed up hurtbox or something, sucks. I won’t stop playing her even if she’s patched though, her shit is too fun. While messing around with her I found I juggle that I think is really good, it’s j.hk->s.mk->EX Skull Splitter->c.hp->Geyser Cannon->Ivory Cutter. Does 412 without gems. I need to see if people have made anything else in the Nina character section. Before I went to bed last night I tried Jin… I’m not even sure if I have anywhere near the execution to use him… we shall see I guess.

Broadway Monstergames tournament has been delayed! Weren’t many signups so the owner decided to push it back to April 1st. We need to see if there is a way some of you guys can register without having to drive all the way up here.

Boo! I was looking forward to taking all of Hburgs money this weekend too.

That actually opens it up for me. I am coming back to Harrisonburg on Sunday so I wasn’t able to do that one. I’ll sign up as soon as I can.

Well you just need to have sign-ups/registration online. Otherwise you’ll have to go by forum post

Any idea on how to do that?

Alright guys, here is the new poster. New date is April 1st. No Mortal Kombat, but will feature SFxT. Weston will be streaming it live on twitch.tv.

This time tho if you’re attending please email us @ **MonsterGamesTournament@gmail.com** and basically just say you’d like to be signed up for the tournament. It will help us keep track of how many people will be attending. Support the community and get hype!

Heres is the thread in the Events subforum once again:

Oh yeah. Email works. They could also use tumblr to create a submission poll like Richmond. Obviously more work, but it’s neater.

Come watch us play some games live on our stream http://twitch.tv/warston. Get hype! :stuck_out_tongue:

what no blazeblue? thats how you get a big turn out you got to add BB on the list thats the game everyone is playing

If you guys know any JMU students, it would be wise to get them to find a way to get word out to the student body about the tournament. Also glad that SSB isn’t included. Makes me sad whenever I see that on the event list.

Games happening tonight at Patrick’s place? I have work tomorrow so I wouldn’t be able to stay after 9pm.

Anyone trying to get any games today? SFxTK?

Hey what’s up guys? Just wanted to stop through and post up the info for the 2012 EVO Midwest Championships (MWC). That’s right, we are an EVO qualifier this year, and are looking to make this the biggest MWC yet!

This year’s MWC will be held in Nashville, TN. Specifically at the South’s premier arcade, Game Galaxy, which is owned and operated by OG tournament player and veteran game collector Jason “DreamTR” Wilson!

All of the info on location, fees, and scheduling, is contained in the tournament thread, so I won’t make this post overcrowded by including it all here:

SRK Tournament thread - http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/jun-22-2012-evo-series-mwc-2012-nashville-tn-june-22-24-2012-3-days-of-antioch-tn.152079/

Be sure to RSVP at the Facebook event page - http://www.facebook.com/events/100263760101160/

Also, follow Dream, Game Galaxy, and your Main Tournament staff on Twitter:

One additional note - there are some upcoming TN events in which you will have the opportunity to secure favorable seeding for MWC:

The first is our “Games for Autism Speaks” event that is being held jointly with the Tennessee Chapter of The Modified Dolls. It will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, starting at 12pm. Facebook event page here - http://www.facebook.com/events/272080749529275/. Follow TN Dolls on twitter - @TNdolls

The second is an event being organized by our good friend, OG Marvel 2 player, and the hypest commentator in the South, Jose “DGAGodlikeRushdown” Santiago! A lot of you saw and heard him do his thing at Final Round XV! You haven’t seen anything till you come kick it with us in TN! “Memphis Bawse Battles” will take place on May 26th in Memphis, TN. Follow Jose on twitter - @DGAGdlkRushdown; and Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/GodlikeRushdown to stay current on his events!

The TOP FIVE placers at these events will get byes or double byes (depending on turnout) in their respective games at MWC. So, doing well here gets you one step closer to those sought after EVO points!

Finally guys, PLEASE DON’T HESITATE to contact the tournament staff, the arcade, post in the tournament or TN thread, send us smoke signals, carrier pigeons, etc for ANY questions you have. We are here to help and want to make this event huge as it’s the last qualifier before EVO.

Thanks guys!

For those of you still figuring out SFxT, just know that: mashing jab is bad, learn links since chains scale awfully, and throws are worse than they are in KOFXIII.

Well, mashing jab isn’t bad depending in the character, for some it’s all they’ve got in terms of pressure. Take Cammy, what else she going to do with a bad dive kick and no overhead? Walk forward jab.

You’re not really mashing if you’re trying to get counter-hits or tick-throws. I was speaking in a defensive sense. Just like mashing dp’s. You never mash offensively (e.g.during a combo).

Thanks everyone who came out on Saturday! Results are up on the tourney page:
