What’s up, G? Yeah, Slash came out about 2 weeks ago. Been playing it on and off. I got back into #R right before it came out and been having fun with it. Dizzy got a bunch of changes in Slash that I’m learning to cope with. Heh.
Wow, congrats to Jon! Where’s the honeymoon at? I may be getting engaged in May as well…
Brad, how are you playing Slash, import? Any thoughts on the changes? I hear Ky got buffed big and Slayer got…the opposite.
I’ve just been playing Guild Wars and Subsistence lately. A little WoW here and there.
I got around to getting a Fliptop and got Slash from ncsx.
As far as changes, I haven’t really played it much to experience stuff first hand. Just the big stuff that’s obvious.
As far as Ky, from what I understand he got the slow and fast fireballs that he had in GGX and he still has charge stun edge. He also has aerial charged stun edge. His hit box on j.S is larger so he can use it on crossup. c.HS has the draw-in properties from #R and you can JC it now. I think the untechable time on Vapor Thrust on Counter hit was increased too. Not sure.
Dizzy got another scythe wheel, but it’s kind of worthless since it’s tragectory goes up then down. You can FRC the wheel now too, which is kinda nifty. She can also hold the air spike by holding down S and you fire it by releasing the button. The two huge detrimental changes, though, are the fish disappears if Dizzy gets hit now (like the spike) and she can no longer cancel her sweep into anything, so she lost one of her best low pokes. The fish change forces Dizzy to be tighter on the rushdown since all it takes is a jab to stop her cold. No fish = no punishment. The damage from combos after the spike also has propagation.
I’ve been messing around with the new char A.B.A, too. All in all, Slash is an upgrade to #R kinda like #R was to XX.
DAMN! After literally not touching the game since you left, your great details have got the blood pumpin again. No game brought the intensity like GG, IMO. Wish you were around for one of those marathon sessions, I miss trying to break free of Dizzy lockdown, or trying to get you a flinch on my own offense.
Actually, Zach out of nowhere wanted to pop GG in last week and sadly, I couldn’t remember my approach w/my side characters like Millia and Jam, but it was still fun to mash around. I couldn’t remember how to do a single Bridget super tho…
Ky’s JC c.HS sounds monstrous!

Those marathon GG sessions were some good times. I miss having that kind of comp readily available, as well as just being able to hang out. I learned a lot of fundamentals about the GG engine as well as lots of different techniques and character matchups.
What’s going on outside of the GG world with you, G?
I’ve been meaning to go down to NYC to hang out with Wilson. I gotta remember to give him a call sometime.
Outside of GG, just workin at Kodak still. Planning some trips with C and enduring boring Rochester by watching movies nonstop, so nothing’s changed for me. Liking the quick pace of GW. There’s no monthly fee so you should give it a look and maybe join me and Wilson.
I’m really hyped for today’s Pearl Jam release but thanks to my crap work PC, I can’t load onto my iPod and have to listen thru the PC’s noisy speaker port. Big day for music with Tool and Neil Young releases if anyone’s into those.
What other characters are you playing in GG so far? Find anything I should know? I can tell you that Ky seems ridiculous so far with c.HS’s vertical hitbox of doom. Bridget is toned way down w/weakened (again) jump-ins and shortened boxing roger. I used to abuse FRC roger for hours on end in #R. Oh, love that you can pick #R variations.

I’m not really into Pearl Jam. I’ll listen to it if someone else is or if it comes on the radio, but I don’t go out of my way to listen to them. Plus, Eddie Vedder kind of annoys me.
I really like Tool tho, so of course picked up their album. I didn’t like it at first, but it’s starting to grow on me. Vicarious is the most Toolish sounding track on the album, imo. There’s a lot of trippy instrumental tracks, like 10,000 days that I’d probably enjoy a bit more if this album came out like 6 years ago when I still smoked weed. 
I guess I gotta give up the hope that another Aenima is going to come out. =/
As far as Slash, I really haven’t done much outside of Dizzy and A.B.A. I’ve mainly just been doing random setups in Training mode, since I only play real comp like once a month. Stephen plays against me with his Tesu, but he’s playing it like XX and using setups that are like 3 years old. He enjoys the game, but doesn’t want to get back into Slash like he was with XX. =/
I’m going to play some people in Jersey on Saturday. They’re really good players. One of the guys, Chaz, placed fifth at FR9. Another guy, who I don’t remember his name, also placed top 10. Kono was at the last gathering, as well. So, I’ll let you know what I see different from #R.

That sucks that Tool stuck a bunch of trippy intrumentals into the record. I understand taking the band in a new direction but if that made up a good portion of the disc, I wouldn’t be happy.
What’s FR9? There’s been 9 of those so I feel pretty clueless.
I’m alive! Not dead! Work has been rather interesting and stuff, but I’m gonna visit Rochester sometime during the summer. I miss my friends a lot to say the least.

So, what the heck have you all been up to? I’m curious to know what ya been playing. I’m guessing BK is playing DOA 4 and everyone else is playing GG Slash. I’ve been playing through the Metal Gear Solid games, Melty Blood Final Tuned, and Guitar Hero. Oh, and Cave Story for the PC.
On another note, is EGS still alive?
Just chiming in to answer your question, and that’s a yes. Phyto actually lives with some EGS folk (to my surprise) so I’ll ask him to fill us in when I see him tonight.
As of Cinco de Mayo (May 5th for those who aren’t bilingual) Jaime & I were married :lovin:
We eloped in Niagra Falls (American side), & honeymooned in Amsterdam.
It was pretty sweet, minus the 6+ hour flight from Boston to London :wasted:
The Greenhouse Effect was my fav place to visit, I highly recommend it
Outside of all this lovey-dovey stuff, I’ve been playing a little here & there.
Mostly Fight Night R3 (my custom character is me, with more muscles), some Oblivion (which is more adventure than RPG to me, & I like that), with some DOA4 sprinkled in. I admit my skills ain’t what they used to be, & I just don’t have the time or people surrounding me to level up much. I don’t mind much since I’m not really playing competitively anymore anyways.
Now I’m trying to figure out my schooling future for film & video.
Since NY state is paying for it, why not better myself?
Right now I’m looking @ Brockport, RIT is just too much $$$.
