the sfa3/sfz3 infinites were pretty weird to use. V-ISM + a fairly quick character + crouch land into jump = corner inf.
What’s up everyone,
I was wondering when you guys get together for gaming. You may or may not remember me…I played 3S with a few of you once at Time-Out in Greece Ridge Center a while ago. Well, I’m back at home in Rochester for the summer and would love to get together for some MvC2, 3S, Super Turbo, or other 2d fighters…
My main games would be probably be MvC2 and ST, and I’d love to get better in 3S, CvS2, etc…(MvC2 and ST of course!!)
I haven’t played #r at all but would like to if that’s what you all play. I’m up for anything, really.
Hopefully see you all soon
hey

I’ve been busy, so I apologize for not responding sooner. If you guys wanna meet up, hopefully Grifter or someone else will be able host this and make arrangements. I would host this, but my place is a mess. :wow: I would rather meet at the arcades, but they all suck around here.
Oh, don’t worry about it. Whenever would probably be ok with me, I’m pretty free over the summer. I would rather meet at the cades too, cause I left all my fighting game stuff (custom stick, Dreamcast, games) at college, unless it’d be ok to use someone else’s. What exactly do we have around here in terms of arcades? The ones that have fighting games I know of are:
Time-Out (Greece Ridge Center) – 3S, T5, T4 (pretty much all in questionable condition except T5)
The Clubhouse (near Marketplace Mall in Henrietta) – MvC2 (2P side unusable last time I checked, dunno if they got it fixed yet)
Adventure Landing (about 1-2 miles from Greece Ridge) – MvC2 (surprisingly good, working condition with P360 joysticks), TTT, CvS1 (dunno if they still have it), T5
We have got to get a good arcade around here!! How is the arcade at RIT? I’ve never been there. It IS listed as an official APEX arcade…
RIT arcade = really shitty. You wanna go there if you play pool, not fighters (Tekken 4 is all there is, I think). Also, UoR’s arcade has SvC Chaos, if that’s your thing. P
By the way, I’ve been trying to pick up 3S if anyone here plays at all. I’m not in Rochester 'till fall quarter starts at RIT, but after that some meetups or whatever would be pretty cool.
Yeah, none of the arcades are a good bet for fighters unless you like T5. I can play T5 and #R if anyone has a place to meet. Zach may be into having more game nights but not sure.
Last time I was in Greece with Dan, the MvC2 machine at Adventure Landing didn’t have working buttons and the damage is set to like 4 or 5. I did one combo with Ken and Magneto died. lol
Yeah, now that I think about it, the damage must be set pretty high on MvC2 at AL. You’re also probably right about some of the buttons, I had trouble getting the Assist 1 button to work on the 1P side…
And wow, that sucks about the university arcades too…damn.
Hi. How are you?
Hi. Good, thanks. Anyone planning to do anything anytime soon? I’d like to take up Blackkyheart’s offer from the beginning of the year for some MvC2 sometime.
This thread’s been dry as hell recently…what’s everyone up to around here?? The summer’s coming to a close with about a month left and it feels like I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing.
Anyone going to Evo? I’m really sad about it but it doesn’t look like I’ll get to go this year…kinda short on cash at the moment. Would have loved to go, especially cause this year’s looks promising in some aspects.
It’s not fighting game-related but I got a mail about some FFXI event coming up in Rochester:
http://na.square-eni.com/events/ffxi/tour2005/ny/
Sounds like it’s a chill/hang-out type thing, which is definitely cool with me. Free entry and food only heighten the incentive to check it out…and that PC they’re giving away looks tight as hell.
Looks like it falls on the Saturday of Evo2k5 weekend.
I’ll dress up as a goblin so I can aggro random people and beat them to death. :pleased:
w00taru, im going.
The problem is that most of the people that play fighters are either home since they don’t live in Rochester, are on vacation, or are too busy with work. I’m around, but too absorbed in my work. I haven’t even played World of Warcraft for about 4-5 days straight now since I’m too busy tinkering with my new Java IDE along with learning Java 1.5’s little nuances.
I figured it was something like that…oh well. I’ll be going back to college in two weeks anyways. Too bad I didn’t get to meet with anyone though.
Time-Out got The King of Fighters: Neowave (!!) and Tekken 5.1. That’s awesome, especially KOF:Neowave. It’s pretty rare to be found in any arcade in the U.S., let alone one in Rochester, NY.
There also will be a tournament there on September 10th, featuring Third Strike, KOF: Neowave, and Tekken 5.1. Unfortunately I’ll be at college then, but hopefully some of you can support it.
I’m actually impressed with Time-Out. It seems the staff cares enough about fighters to keep bringing new ones in and throwing occasional tournaments. If only people played there, I think it would have the potential to become at least somewhat like a ‘real’ arcade like Chinatown Fair, 8 on the Break, and the ones found on the West Coast.
They have Neowave? Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll give that a look.
me and my roomates are looking for competition on campus. We play thrid strike and tekken 5 some times for money ;). Stop by anytime

Hey guys. How’s everyone doing? Bobby, G, Wilson, Randall, Ron, Ira, Jon? Just stopping by to say what’s up and hope everyone is doing well.
I’ve been playing some old PS1 games. I found a used copy of Xenogears for 10 and a sealed copy of Symphony of the Night for 5. Greatest hits tho. =/ Currently in the inverted library killing the things for that godly sword haha. Also still playing FFXI. Got my first BLM afv2 from Dynamis-Jeuno last night. Heh, what games you guys playing?
Good luck with classes this year whoever still hasn’t graduated.
Hey Brad! If your # didn’t change, I’ll give ya a call tonight.
As for Symphony of the Night, kill the Schmoos. They drop the Crissy. Ira got Crissy in about 45 minutes into the game the first time he played the game and beat the game a few hours later.
Err…I haven’t been playing much of anything lately due to learning design patterns and re-reading my discrete mathematics book. Only games I have touched lately are Devil May Cry 3, DBZ: Budokai 3, and Jump! Superstars.
