You’ll win more games with Chipp than you will with Millia at the beginning. Millia and Venom are both full time investment characters with Millia needing more execution.

How is millia a good character? Doesnt she have nearly identical health and damge to chipp but with wayy less mobility?

She has better matchups than him. He’s at a disadvantage with a good chunk of the characters.

Also, his mobility isn’t such an advantage given that there are other characters that are only slightly less mobile, but have significantly higher damage output (i.e. Slayer, Sol, Ky).

Chipp is still mad fun to play. I played the hell out of him and it was a delight the whole time. However, the simple fact remains that He’s at a significant disadvantage constantly.

Millia is also a relatively lightweight character. However, she has better matchups. Millia is also more technical than Chipp, which if you focus on learning her, you can learn a lot of cool, damaging shit.

Chipp is a lateral character. Everything he does relies on moving left or right. Outside of his triple jump, he doesn’t have many vertical options to throw your opponent off.

He has a very predictable moveset that is easily punishable, and Chipp doesn’t have the health to compensate.

He’s a good beginning character, but not something that can be maintained unless someone is willing to work very, very hard for what should be basic wins.

Like Gary said, you’ll win initially, but he’s so easy to read that taking Chipp to next level is too much work for too little pay.

Millia just has better options and adaptability, but she takes longer to get good with.

Umm, I main chipp. That one time I played you at your place i was using chipp. I know all his strengths and weaknesses already. You didnt really answer my question.

I asked why is Millia a good character and simply used chipp as a point of comparison. all you really gave me was millia has good tools and nice set ups for damage. but that doesnt really tell me anything about why shes a good character, which is what I was actually asking.

Not trying to offend or be mean. But the focus of my question was Millia and you didnt really tell me anything about her. What are said tools? What are said setups? Why does she have better matchups?

Chipp has a major critical flaw

The fact that this man exists -

Given the lifespan of the game, Chipp will win more here, period, but Millia has maybe the best oki of the game. Both have hard combos but Millia requires an execution machine.

Go do the research if thats how in-depth you want to get. All the information is out there to support what I’ve said.

I just gave some general comments based on what I know and my own experience with the game, where I played damn near every character obsessively for about two years.

You think I’m wrong? Fine.

You think I didnt say anything? Fine.

You think you know better? Great, more power to ya.

Just thought I’d come in and answer your vague question with a general answer.

The information is out there, not too hard to find.

Again, try being less of a dick about things, you might get further with people in life.

 I need to find a woman who likes wildberries.

Just remember Yannick:

The Snozzberries taste like Snozzberries.

how did the ranbats go yesterday?

Or a woman.

Nice combo breaker Yannick. :p:

Don’t let the hatred weigh you down.

Do want.

 Never!

Honestly, that was not the impression I was trying to make, and I completely apologise.

I wasnt trying to say you were wrong, and I wasnt trying to imply that I know more about the game than you. Far from it. The only characters in GG I know anything about past a super basic level are the 3 characters i play: Chipp, regular Sol, and Jam. Just like when CK comes in here and asks the people he considers experts what certain terms like tick throw mean because he doesnt understand, I was doing the same thing and just asking the people who know better about something you guys said that didnt make sense to me. If you had taken your post and had given me all the info that you broke down on Chipp and gave me that same info on Millia, I would have been golden. Because Chipp makes sense to me, but Millia doesnt, considering that, on that base level, they seem like very similar character types (pixies with low health and low damage but good options and mobility)

I dont even know how I could have phrased my response in a less aggressive way. Cause I definitely wasnt trying to send that message.

EDIT
YO FK POTEMKIN.
SCREW THAT MATCHUP. HOW OBNOXIOUS DOES A GAME HAVE TO BE TO HAVE THAT KIND OF MATCHUP.

Got a question, who’s planning on going to PAX?

. . .Far as I know?

Gary and Wife, Dan, Me (potentially with wife).

From what I’ve gleaned through reading, Millia is strong because she has really good mixups and apparently a blockstring that leads into itself. So basically you get a knockdown and your opponent has to guess which way to block; if they guess wrong, you get another knockdown and you’re back where you started. A few wrong guesses and it’s game over.

Chipp is rushdown, but I don’t think he has the same mixup potential, which means he’s got to work harder for the same damage output.

I picked up BB:CSEX today to tide me over while I wait for Guilty Gear. It’s weird going from Persona to BB. Ugh.
