Speaking from personal experience, sometimes, no matter how much meds you’re taking and all the therapy in the world, when it’s bad, it’s really hard to pull yourself up and out… and then stay out. It really is a ball and chain, the weights just vary from person to person.

You are definitely wrong about this, and considering there is really no cost to raising awareness, I don’t see why it would be a bad thing even if it was redundant.

Depression is a emotional weakness, however the emotional weakness is due to lack of serotonin in the brain. I wasn’t just referring to medication but treatments in GENERAL are expensive.

The first stages of treatment is a Physician check up and people normally pass that up because of the thought of the amount of money they will be spending over something that may “not be” serious after all.

List of his best lines.

I would’ve preferred some more of his personal quotes, but that’s still a good collection.

I feel like watching Patch Adams again…

In related news, I wonder if his divorce(s) contributed to his stress?

2 divorces almost bankrupted him. I never saw him as a Scrooge, but I’m sure it caused him a more stress than he needed.

.

Am I the only person that feels sickened by this? Like I feel that Toby is only taking advantage of a tragic situation for more views and money. Like who cries this much over celebrity’s death outside of family and friends #UnpopularOpinion

I don’t watch his videos, but I know Toby is one of the biggest channels on youtube.
It is very strange to see people who don’t know Robin Williams on a personal level breakdown like that. I mean I could understand a comic, or someone who lives with or has someone close to them commit suicide or deal with depression. I haven’t enough of his videos to know if this is the type of vlogs he does, so I won’t judge.

He looks like a fucking idiot, we need Williams in genie form just 1 more time so I can we all these youtube blogging assholes to kill themselves with poison, honestly that shit makes me sick.

I have never actually watched a Tobuscus video. I was browsing through Youtube and it was a trending video. I watched it and I found his reaction to be a bit of an exaggeration if you ask me, plus that he has ads on (according to the comments).

You’ve got that backwards. Yes, alcohol is a depressant, but if it didn’t make people feel better in some way, why would they start drinking to cope with depression?

I think part of the problem is that, much like musicians (and I can speak from experience here), the comedy profession almost ENCOURAGES drug/alcohol abuse. It’s romanticized. You can be a functional addict/alcoholic and still do the gig, in fact if you are an addict/alcoholic, it’s probably going to make people like what you do even MORE. So by using drugs/booze to cover up a problem like depression, when you’re at the level he’s at, even if you have a problem and other people notice, they’re probably not going to say anything until you become non-functional and start missing appearances, not being able to work. Plus when you work in a given entertainment medium, you see it differently than people who don’t. Comedians can laugh at other comedians, but when you do it is as a profession, you’re not just taking it at face value like the rest of us.

It’s got nothing to do with how much money you have. Steve Jobs had all the money in the world, but he still died of cancer. Robin Williams had more money than most of us could ever dream of having, fame, etc, but still couldn’t find a reason to work it out. What does that tell you? Money’s the answer to 9 out of 10 questions, but in this case, we’ve found that 10th question here.

Watched ‘Hook’ in Netflix before I went to sleep last night. The feels was too strong.

RIP Robin Williams- I hope you are cracking jokes with Carlson, Patrice O’ Neal, Richard Pryor etc upstairs.

i know this is depressing and makes most of us all sad and upset , but i just wanted to take my time
to say that Chris G is the biggest piece of shit in the FGC. Hope he gets deported or something.

And ofcourse… R.I.P Mr.Williams , thanks for the great memories.

they are all downstairs doe :coffee:
