Yep, drugs and gun laws are to blame… If you understood anything about addiction or depression you’d know that society’s opinion or legal standing is the last thing on a man’s mind when he resorts to either. You want drink/drugs? You’ll get them. You want something to guarantee you’re dead at the end of it? You find it.
We’re talking about a man with a proud family, an entire world of fans, a rich heritage and a lifetime of making people happier and wiser, yet he still wanted it all to end.
No law or social opinion is going to change someone at that point.
I wonder how many people here are both on the side of “I don’t usually care about celebrety deaths” and “Hey that guy doesn’t care about a celebrety death, get him” and don’t notice the fucking hypocrisy there…

The reason why people get teary eyed over the loss of certain famous people is because those famous people had their contributions with certain peoples lives (what we enjoyed growing up, what entertained us, what we found cool)… most of the things we were entertained or inspired from created the roots that made us who we are today, personally. Therefore when the news of a passing of those long-time people comes on it’s like saying goodbye to what you enjoyed about your life. Sometimes acting like a tough ass on the internet is the actual weakness.

What dreams may come, Popeye, Insomnia, One hour Photo, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Dead Poet Society, Hook. Guy was not only a great comedian/comic actor he was top notch in dramatic/serious roles. Death by hanging…really sad.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was one of my absolute favorites (man could play anything and excel), now this. RIP to them both.
When I heard the news I was saddened. Robin Williams is legitimately one of the best comedic actors of any generation and I knew for years that he dealt with severe mental health issues and relapses in alcohol. To see that he committed suicide just makes me sick to my stomach. What even makes me more ill is the usual bigots who come out of their god-awful caves to spread their ignorant closed minded views about Mental Illness. Then these people have the nerve to get “pissed” when they are not respected for their beliefs, even though they shit on a disease and the people who suffer from it.
edit: OK curbstomped is too far. Sorry I’ve dealt with depression for years and it makes me sick when assclowns run their mouth and say that my disease is all in my head and I’m just being weak.
Well it’s not really surprising when an elderly person dies. Sure it sucks when it happens, but it’s typically not shocking. Eastwood is a god damn dinosaur (practically looks as old as one now), and although I’d be saddened by his death, I wouldn’t be surprised either.

I get the feeling Rainbow Randolph might have been what Robin actually saw himself as. A clown who outwardly is very funny and amusing, but behind the mask is a man dealing with demons who seems threatening and scary but in the end is just really, really desperate for actual friendship.
