Road to Victory - YouTube Series

YO, new to the srk forums and the Street Fighter scene. I plan on going to tourneys at chinatown fair(locals Evo ect…) when they hold them its about a six hour drive from where i live BUT ANWAY. This thread is basically me promoting my youtube channel. www.youtube.com/proteq1

Basically me and my boy Active are at leavel one and the plan is to flim active and myself through this journey to become a top player. Not paying top players for lessons or anything like but hardcore practice and learning the game and we hope to flim most of the journey.

I think it would be cool for alot of gamers like me to see other players struggle and fight to make there way to the top and this is what this channel is gonna be about so checkout and hope i can get this big enough to make some noise.

                                                                                      peace out
                                                                                                       -Proteq.

Hi dude, welcome to Street Fighter.

thanks bra

Hit me up whenever you feel like making it out to chinatown, tourny or not.

CTF is having tournys now?

Who the FUCK is Proteq and why should I care?

I think it would be cool for a lot of gamers to get better at a game rather than watch someone else get better at a game.

If you’ve ever tried to improve at a game, and compete at a top level, then you’d know you always need a little motivation and a little drive as you go. Seeing someone do something that your working to do as well is inspiration to you and the “dream” you have.

Are you telling me, if you were in love basketball, and you wanted to try and make it into the NBA, you wouldn’t want to see how Michael Jordan didn’t make his highschool basketball team, but still struggled and went on a road to become one of the best basketball players in the world? I would.

Proteq and I are new to the Street Fighter community, thanks for the awesome welcome, I appreciate it.

Anyway, this video series is for all the newcomers to Street Fighter, and the fighting community as a whole. If anyone ever wants to be a top player, but they don’t quite know how to do it… (Hopefully) they can watch our videos and find out (If we make it)

Yeah all the time, from what I hear.

fo sho bra.

If you are 6 hours from NYC then perhaps there is a community and tournaments closer to where you live. 6 hours is a long drive. Check the regional forums.

I don’t know if you guys want to do it alone, but playing people better than you is the best way to improve. It will go much faster if you join an already active community.

Anyways good luck to you.

yea man thanks. i live in rhode island and the closet place that has a sf4 cab is in newyork. i totally agree with playing better players gets you better but the area i live in is kinda wack soo yea. : /

As inspiring as that might be, it doesn’t matter to me how someone became great. What makes them great is what matters. :coffee: I’d learn more about Rufus by playing Kindevu’s Rufus than I would from reading Kindevu’s biography.

But anyway, that’s straying a bit away from the original point I was making… which is that with the resources and competition available, imo people would be better off spending their time getting good at the game than watching someone else get good at the game, unless you have some golden nuggets of wisdom (that haven’t already been written up in Domination 101 or by Sirlin) that you’re going to impart on us.

But yeah, good luck at rising to the top.

yo welcome man fight me

Add us.

Activee

and

Proteq

are our XBL gamertags.

The fuck? How do you not know that. I live on the other side of the country and know they hold tourneys.

I think he’s refering to them actually holding tournaments again.

Which would be a giant NO, they’re not.

This is a very very bad idea…
you see, 09 members arent really …“liked” around here

Its not like we dont aprecciate the fact that you wanna join our community, its just that if we waste time listening to your noob questions, we willl loose precious time we could use levelin up.
I hope you understand that at 90% of whoever reads this doesnt give a shit whether you become a good player or not.
You want to shut us up, then just go ahead and win a bunch of maors, place at EVO etc…
You will get flamed for this, like every other 09 member tryin to introduce himself to the forum.
If you want to level up, go ahead and get your ass kicked again and again and again and again untill you learn.
You dont need our permission or approval or anything for that.
and BTW, Im tryin to be as polite as I can.

Now let me give you a proper welcome to SRK

I DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR STUPID CHANNEL. I AINT GOT TIME TO SEE SOME DUMB ASS PIECE OF RESURRECTED ABORTION LIKE YOU TRYIN TO BECOME GOOD AT STREET FIGHTER.
YOU’RE A FAILURE AT LIFE ITSELF, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT TO BECOME A TRUE STREET FIGHTER!!
YOU REMIND ME OF THAT STUPID ATTENTION WHORE WHO WANTED US TO BE AMAZED CAUSE HE WAS A LAWYER AND SHIT.

Oh really? Cause Gootecks, a top player that is 10x more sucessfull then you, has stated that everyone should be nice to the new players because we want the community to grow… WOW, your doing a great job at making your community grow. What have you done at EVO?

So why waste your time posting that at all? What are you playing Street Fighter for? Are you going pro? Have you ever been good enough at a game to the point where you’ve made enough money to support yourself? If you have, then forgive me, if you haven’t, then gtf off of my thread. Thanks.

Now on Youtube, I talked about how I like the Street Fighter community, but ofcourse not one community is going to have all chill people in it, theres always going to be one or 2 dickheads. To the rest of you cool people, I appreicate the welcome and I love you
