I cannot believe the suit can phsyically take over Peter’s body even if he’s awake.
Man, this show is too good. One thing that bothers me, though, is that all the guns make laser/Air Soft rifle sounds, but oh well, since they at least look like they shoot bullets.
Also, unlike with Legion or The Batman (for which Kids WB! still shows promos, for some reason), which started off shitty and then got good, this show hit the ground running, so I really hope it stays around.

There’s no question at this point that the current Spidey cartoon has far surpassed anything that came before. The best fights, best animation (*unless you count cel-shaded polys on the MTV version.), and now the best Venom. They found a great way to put him on the show quickly with it still making sense. I wonder if they’ll take it further and eventually put Carnage on…eh, I doubt it. Carnage hasn’t even been popular since the 90s, right? Modern-day Spidey fans probably forgot him, actually. There’s also the problem of Carnage being a little too much for Saturday-morning censor guidelines…even with today’s looser set of standards. Carnage in the comics was purely about killing…killing the shit out of everything. I guess there’s no real way to tone that down.
*Also, I’m still sure Norman is Goblin…he set up a brilliant plan to somehow make it appear like his son was it. Heh, great Father-of-the-Year material there. Norman = The Shit?.
Anyone else think Eddie is… what’s the word I’m looking for, Emo? Or at least he’ll be emo now that he’s Venom. I’m almost expecting them to bust out with Crawling In My Skin when he whines and moans about how Spidey ruined his life next week.
And MJ being aware of Gwen’s crush on Peter and giving her advice? Did not see that coming. No not at all. I also thought Spidey taking Tombstone up on his offer was a shocker but I was more surprised by Flash being the voice of reason for Peter when he blew off his 3 hot friends, Gwen, MJ, and Liz. Even Sally felt bad for Peter. SALLY!!
Ed Asner (Cosgroove!) Did a great job voicing Uncle Ben. I liked how the told the origin story in this ep. It just added to Pete’s reasoning for dumping the suit. And Uncle Ben working as the good side of Peter’s conscience was great. Someone mentioned in another board if we’d had this sort of thing we wouldn’t have gotten One More Day’s ending. This Peter has more balls than the comic version.
The Venom vs Spidey fight is major factor in every Spidey incarnation. In the 90s cartoon, after it was over, they failed to surpass it at all. The only thing that came close was the final Green Goblin battle. It was so bad I only cared for the Venom fight and the final Goblin fight. So far this series is doing so good and that does worry me.
What can they bring that can even compete with the level that the. first season has created?
And I kinda agree with Million. Kinda because I believe that Norman didn’t know Harry was the GG but later on dons on the Green himself and far more powerful than Harry ever was. Hopefully Pete and Gwen start dating… that’s THE sign if you’ve been keeping up with the comics(not Ultimate). Personally I don’t want Eddie and Pete to patch things up for a LONG, LONG time. Like some epic battle later on.

Well 90’s Spidey made Carnage have the ability to suck out a person’s “life force” putting them in a coma-like state. I’m sure they can use some creativity in handling such a violent character.
Come to think about it, imagine Harry Osborn Goblin with Carnage Symbiote over him!:looney:

1: even if you don’t particularly care for Spider-Man…yes.
2: beats the hell out of it. Then it calls a few of it’s boys and beats it to death.
Last episode was awesome. Spidey’s origin, his struggle with the symbiote and Eddie becomes Venom! I can’t believe they managed to fit all of that into a half hour and not make it seem incredibly rushed or forced! Best episode ever. I can’t wait for next week!
so mad… Cable had an outage as the were performing maintenance all day friday and half a day saturday… missed it…
Definitely a slower episode than the last ones, but good development for the story. I like how the kept the notion of Brock losing his job because of Parker, but changed it to fit the circumstances.
anyone else notice how the suit changed from the last episode too? this episode lost the web marks on the face and made it sleeker and cooler.
