So I guess the show is kind of a mesh of the OG/Ultimate Spidey storylines, what with having a young Pete who was friends with Brock, and there father’s being colleagues, but keeping all the OG villain designs. Where did the suit come from in this one? I missed out on that.
I’m glad that they’re running old episode/new episode cuz I need to catch up on all the back episodes. So what exactly happened between Pete and Brock to make him so cray-zay about getting revenge on him in the show?
Cause I don’t want to start shit this post has SPOILERS
Ok
I loved 90s Spiderman but this show is like the perfect fusion of crack, weed and porn. It has a great storyline and beautiful fights that they could NEVER pull off in the old days.
It took me mid way through the fight to realize that the suit had Pete on auto pilot but that alien suit was brilliant. I had figured Pete would try to pit them against one another but using their powers against one another tactically was a work of art. And Doc Ock has become my favorite villian outside of Green Goblin and Tombstone, the dude was pimp refined and really used his intelligence until that last point.
Excellent fight in the latest episode. I was kinda wondering up until the end why Pete wasn’t talking the entire time…
And about Doc Ock: I definitely like Ultimate Doc Octopus a lot more than the old one. Maybe in the future we’ll see…
Ultimate Octavius
Spoiler
In the Ultimate series Doc’s arms are removed and destroyed completely, but he surprises Pete with his discovery that he couldn’t control just his arms, he could control metal ala Magneto.
Ha, whatdoyaknow, you did mention that earlier. I’m slippin’.
I’ve seen more pics from this Saturday’s comic ep. The suit will look more like it did in the comics when Spidey obtained it. Love how they are showing the suit’s transformation. Oh and I’ve seen Venom. Venom fans will not be disappointed.
Man I loved how they put it in black and white. That was a sweet touch. And Ben helping Peter was an “Aww” moment. And they even said the classic line" With great power comes great responsiblity."
it has begun
Spoiler
The epic battle between Venom and Spidey comes next week. Man Venom is one scaryass looking enemy now. That has to be the end of the 1st season. Now way they can top that anytime soon. What’s sad is that Spidey just needs to have a little talk with Brock and they can smooth things over. But no! War must ensue!!!:nunchuck: And they have the “We are VENOM!” line from the 90’s cartoon too.
Yeah
I like Ed Asner’s voice for uncle Ben, very paternal. I think the best part of this ep was how these incidents made Eddie have absolute hatred for the entire entity known as Spiderman, not just Peter Parker.
They kept traditional Venom and not that gawdawful Spiderman 3 Venom YAY!:woot:
The episode with the halloween event had to be much earlier since he didn’t have Symbiote yet…but somehow I missed that when it first aired, I guess.
Since this show is so good…I wouldn’t be surpised if Season 2 turns out to be the last. Whenever something is this good, of course it must be cancelled as soon as possible, and of course little kids don’t watch because little kids have such amazingly bad taste in things. I’m sure the average 9 year old out there would much rather watch some bullshit like “Spider Riders” and Winx Club…and of course networks and artists/animators have to cater to that kind of nonsense to continue generating money and success. Kids are so damn annoying…
When the show first came on, I thought they were gonna take continuity for a spin. But everything is semi-canon and damn is it so nice. I can’t wait for those 2 to have at it. And with the way Pete and Eddie are tied together, shit is gonna personal. And that will be the all and all reason why this fight is gonna be legendary.
Hell yeah. Good to see that the roots of Spider-Man aren’t being taken for granted.
Damn Million I hate the truth. But even I have to admit that this show is too damn good. I hope this isn’t a 1-2 out like the Legion. And I thought they still had stories to tell within that universe. Teen Titans and The Batman fall into this same category. Flora from the Winx is C.I.L.F. material, but that’s beside the point. Let’s just hope that we get all the storytelling and action that Spectacular gives us every Saturday for a good while to come. And if all else fails, there’s still Cartoon Network. And with Spidey gettng ready for a hiatus, we can shift to Wolverine and the X-Men and hope it’s half as good as Spectacular is now.
Just wondering are you guys peeping the 4Kids invasion. Last week Yu-Gi-Oh GX, this week TMNT: Fast Forward. I wonder what’s next? Or better question, what’s left? And how in the hell do you compete with yourself? We’ll find out in September.
Not to worry, guys. Greg Wesiman is talking about going beyond 65 eps with Spec Spidey. He says he wants them to pry this out from his cold, dead fingers. After season 2 they are going to do direct to DVD releases for the show. Spec Spidey isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
So can we talk about this ep without spoiler tags now? I don’t know how to use those things.
