RIP Spectacular Spider-Man 2008-2010

The suit evolves… amazing. I noticed it but never brought it up.

They changed the time it airs in my city and I missed it.

Check your PMs. :wgrin:

Guys, remember when Eddie said “Don’t go all emo on me, bro” in the 4th ep. Now who’s emo?

I checked out some episodes yesterday online and this isn’t bad like I thought it was. He was getting his ass handled by the sinister six. That was a beautiful ep

much thanks. That episode was pretty tight I enjoyed how they represented the struggle to break free of the symbiote.

HOW COULD IT BE BAD???

So, I started watching it from episode 1 and it is pretty good. It takes a lot from the Ultimate Spidey comics(which is a good thing). No complaints so far. The animation is too good. Takes a while to get used to the character designs(non-costume characters, of course). But nonetheless, this Spidey cartoon beats the shit out of the 90s version. Granted, the 90s version wasn’t all that good to begin with. And airing alongside Batman TAS, that made it an even worse cartoon.

Alright so here is my 2 cents into this: Well first off the series is looking great so far, easily one of the best comic/TV shows since probably JLU IMO. Although the show is still in it’s infancy ill not some issues im having thus far.

1.The art style:The animation is smooth but the chibi art style isn’t to my liking, I wish it could have adopted the 90’s iteration look.

2.Tier issue: Spidey is being manhandled by folks that shoudnt be able to touch him. Nameless thugs r overpowering him and somehow matching his pace. Not as bad as JLU’s Superman nerf but it is a cause for concern that needs to be fixed.

Aside from that everything else is working good, im looking forward to the second season.

What? This is teenage Spidey. When he’s all weak and not that smart. OG Spidey and 90s cartoon Spidey were college age. And didn’t the director want Spidey to start off weak anyway? Show more progress IMO. 90s cartoon Spidey never evolved at all. He stayed the same the enitre time.

someone pm me that spidey episode please.

Hmm still doesn’t quite make sense how a class 10 hero is being thrown around by mere street level thugs. Not that im shitting on the series or anything its just im having issues with the nerfing and what not.

You really should read the thread before you continue to post stupid shit, Rik. This specific issue was already addressed officially.

Nigga, Supes was upgraded (from his premier WB series) for JLU. He was nerfed when he had his own series. He’d get owned and exhausted by simple electricity and lasers, and physical attacks that would barely crack pavement in TAOS. JLU supes was taking shit that would cave in entire streets, and coming back like it was just a slap to the face…see the fights he had with Captain Marvel, and the Doomsday wannabe.

Example?? Almost every episode has him fighting a major villain.

Alien: We don’t need you anymore, old man.
Uncle Ben: Too bad. You stirred up my memory. Now you’re stuck with me.

Anyone else think Uncle Ben has balls the size of the Grand Canyon? Dude was talking to the symbiote like he owned the place! :woot:

Reading 20 pages worth of material in a online forum exceeds the amount of the time I wanna put forth in slacking. At any rate im not making a federal case or anything, its just a simple complaint and thats it so dont look to my word as the gospel or nothing.

Rico: In the first episode as Spidey was fighting Vulture, there were these dudes sent by kingpin to capture peter. They engaged him on the roof and then one of the dudes had him in a bearhug that peter was struggling to escape…a mere street level thug was bearhugging a class 10 hero…that shit aint right.

There you go.

holy god shut up.

Stuart go away, seriously you’ve stalked me through each and every thread and have done nothing but usless spam so all ill say this…GTFO troll.

Anyhow I read the creators words and I must respectfully disagree, I have issues with creators taking liberties with franchies and characters especially as it relates to there level of power. I can at least appreciate the fact that he was very open about the nerf with peter as opposed to how Supes was handled in JLU. The show is still badass but its unfortunate the creator decided to go with this direction.

Did you want him to be bench pressing tanks?

Yeah, let’s take Omega Spider-Man, Pre-Crisis Superman, and Spectred-up Hal Jordan and put them all in their own show. We’ll call it “The Most Boring Cartoon Ever Made Where the Protagonists Are Never Challenged.”

Oh, wait. They made that already. It’s called Pokemon.
