He was the guy who made the Dead Fantasy vids.
Talented guy, RIP
I was just watching the Dead Fantasy vids the other day, smh…
Rest In Peace, boss!
R.I.P. you 3d animation genius
I met the guy many years ago at ACEN and was able to get at that time a copy of Dead Fantasy 1-2 with Haloid on DVD. Also he had a table with some art which i promptly snagged. Man was great with he action scenes and diff will be missed :(.
I was really hoping he would recover from whatever it was he had and was kind of shocked when I found out today. Extremely talented and driven. I’m quite saddened by this. R.I.P. man…
Okay rip
I really enjoyed watching RWBY. Wish that he could still be with us. R.I.P.
33 is way too young.
RIP.
Very sad. The guy had legitimate talent. Haloid, Dead Fantasy, working for Namco Bandai and later Rooster Teeth. A tragic and random death I can personally sympathize with, too.
He was really ahead of his time when he Haloid was first released in 2007.
That’s really sad, especially at that age.
Wonder if there was some neglect on the part of the doctors.
I hear he often overworked himself, to the point where his coworkers telling him to get some sleep became a very common occurrence. I wonder if that had anything to do with what happened.
RIP to a very talented guy. Haloid and Dead Fantasy were the original works of his that wow’d me. It wasn’t until this EVENING, that I learned of RWBY. What a charming show, you could tell it was his passion project. I like Rwby more than any anime I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a shame there will probably be no more.
this guy had it amazing. An Asian guy in America with an American dime of a girl, decent career job. You could say he had it all (maybe minus then Nissan GT-R).
180k is worthless if you’re dead. I suppose Sheena will take dat paper
It’s a tough loss. I remember meeting him at Anime Los Angeles a couple of years back. He was quiet, but he was also very nice and fielded whatever questions he could. It’s those times where you look back and say, “Man, I got to hang out with one of the best.” He will definitely be missed.
Wow this really freaking sucks
^this 10000000000% his fight scenes are some of the greatest of all time imo
Let’s not forget that Monty was also a combat designer at Midway and Namco. He worked on the Afro Samurai games for the latter.
“No parent should have to bury their child”. My thoughts go to his family and friends.

The cause of death was an allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure that left him in a coma. He later passed away during his comatose state.
Isn’t RWBY that show that looks like Vocaloid models and unfinished cel shading?
I only remember watching half an episode before turning it off.
