Dunno why people aren’t aware that most UMvC3 players know the game is ass. That’s literally why we play it.
A patch that was mostly done out of complaints from people who got blown up on week 1 tatsus, jab pressure trolling and such. I was actually talking about a patch demanded for the actual community of players who do understand the game better than the outside spectator. Same deal with UMvC3. A patch demanded by the actual community that actively plays the game.
Unfotunately, neither of these games pull big numbers or have any actual international relevance for Capcom/Marvel/Namco to keep trying to support.
Whatever, Marvel players need to forget about a miracle patch and just enjoy the doom missile,lightning loop, soulfist fest with optimism.
I played it because I saw a lot of creative possibility within the game. I saw a lot of viable characters, viable teams, viable strategies. It really looked like this would be a game that rewarded players who put the most thought into the game rather than the players who simply grinded in training mode until TOD combos became second nature. I saw potential for fun.
Clearly, I need glasses.

Pretty much the way I’ve always viewed Marvel (or at least MvC3/UMvC3 as I didn’t follow tourneys much if at all until 2009, and even that was sparingly at first) is that, yeah the game may have some ‘broken’ things or ‘problems’, or whatever, but whenever UMvC3 (or MvC3 in 2011) had its Top 8 come up at EVO, the amount of sheer unadulterated hype it generated was off the damn charts.
DLC vs Capcom. They destroy each other and mega man is saved by bird je… I mean by Infaking.
I knew that Disney Corp. was evil, but never to this extent… They took everything I loved about being a child and are slowly but surely destroying it. I grew up in the arcade playing MvC2 and seeing this series come to a potential end is heart breaking in a weird way.
Although we need a Tatsunoko reboot to fill in any future Capcom tie ins.
Dunno about the part about being right though, it seems more like it is only about money despite if they enjoy it or not at this point.

I wasn’t joking in my post so I don’t get the LOLs. What I do think deserves an LOL is the number of people who, for whatever reason, feel vindicated by the old-as-fuck news that Marvel 3 wasn’t getting any more support. That much was obvious for over a year.
We’re actually more or less saying the same thing: MvC3 is fun but is also really really terrible. Much like MvC2. Something can be terrible but fun, and its assault on the senses is pretty soothing for most of us ADHD crackheads.
The key difference here is that back in the day everyone was enjoying mvc2, while currently mvc3 is a game were all the top play because is what brings the money, not because they like it or enjoy it.
And you know pretty well that i certainly know that a game can be terrible but fun (hello HnK), but that doesn’t mean that i will not call BS on the game being considered the right one when everyone an their momma keep complaining on how bad the game is, are there people who find it fun? yes, are the majority of the top players part of this group not likely seeing all the shit they complain about it.
At this point is very obvious that the game is played because is what bring numbers and money, more than one player has expressed that if there was another popular game they will drop it.
Pffft, absolutely, anyone and their grandmothers know how terribad umvc3 is, i say it agian, any complaint that you could have for x game umvc3 is worse, way worse.

Everything I’ve said about the community being able to support the game just stems from my own argument that a games legitimacy in tournament play comes not from whether or not it’s objectively a good game, but simply if it’s good enough for it to survive in the tournament circuit (i.e. grabs enough players).
