Keep dreaming, The Shonen Jump rights are on hands of Bamco, 1st they know that the demographic that like those series give a rat about traditional fighting games (which is sad), secondly after the fiasco with SFxT i doubt that they ill want to team with them again.
Add that Capcom is barely relevant on their home country when it comes to fighting games.
It is more probable that you will see a Namco vs SJ than a capcom vs SJ.
If they struggled to sell MVC3 there’s no way they’d bring back Tatsunoko which has probably even more difficult licensing issues. Niggas don’t like fighting games. Time to turn the series into an RPG or something. LOL.
You know what, I was playing TVC today and its a lot of fun. Sure it only has 3 buttons for attacking, but honestly it has so many cool stuff in it you get used to it. Not to mention all the Tatsunoko characters being cool and qwerky you want to learn more about them. I wish it had been on other systems though.
Marvel 3 hasn’t really been getting support anywhere for a while, and that thing keeps chugging along. That thing is gonna be with us forever, for better or worse.
All that is really lost is Shuma and Jill, but very few were playing them to begin with and I imagine it won’t be long before unlocking them illegitimate ways will be as easy as it is on Dreamcast now.
And hey, Capcom has plenty of possibilities for crossovers without Marvel. I’m personally hoping for this, shit would earn so much money.
I bought the madcatz boxed version. No regrets. I’m actually still salty that Capcom announced Marvel 3 so soon after releasing TvCUAS stateside. I feel that doing that really smothered any chances TvC had of becoming a thing. I mean it already had to contend with the issue of being a Wii exclusive due to the hardware on the arcade version being based on a Wii. Then you have the fact that there are very few recognizable characters on the Tatsunoko side for the average american. Then you have the Wii’s internet play sucking. All of that is enough shit to wade through that perhaps the FGC would have accepted, but then announcing a supposed sequel to Marvel 2, one of the most popular fighting games of all time and a direct competitor for the attention of players currently playing TvC thinking the chances of a Marvel 3 were nonexistent?
So much Marvel 2 footage started showing up right after that when tons of players flocked back to Marvel 2 to prepare for MVC3 and just stopped playing TvC
Glad I got Shuma and Jill back in Vanilla MVC3, but I was planning on picking up Zero with the megaman skin. Now that I can’t buy it anymore I have no interest in the character.
I wish they would have made all the characters stupid like vergil before they lost the license.
