Honestly, I say we’ll wait a few years until Capcom feels like approaching them again. That is how MVC3 was made, Marvel left and Capcom did it’s own thing for a decade until they talked to Marvel after the success of SF4.

Since when has lack of support from the publishers/developers/license holders “killed” a game.
I mean, you don’t see people saying MvC2 died back in the mid 2000s no do you.
Next time Marvel feels like promoting like 10 different characters, but doesn’t want to invest in them on their own, they will do another MvC. Look at Ultimate, and how they added in Rocket Raccoon, Nova, and other unlikely characters, before the GotG movie.

But as people have said, the game not being available/supported digitally isn’t going to kill the scene. Like has been pointed out, people stuck with MVC2 for almost an entire decade, and there’s probably still side games/side tourneys for it at some majors every now and then that I don’t know about. The companies just make the game and put it out there, but it’s the people playing it that keep it alive.

You know, just a thought, but could they just turn that Sega/Namco/Capcom crossover, Project X Zone into a 3v3 Marvel style fighter? Or hell, just Namco vs Capcom as one if they had to. Of course, KOS-MOS, Bayonetta, and Saya would probably be kinda OP, but…what’s a Marvel VS game without that?
Edit: Of course, I’m pretty sure for it to be accepted, it’d have to be Capcom-made, or something.
