Found out this morning after I got to work and haven’t had a chance to post until now.
RIP to an incredible legend… I haven’t checked out all his stuff, but those that I do know are amazing examples of songwriting. He was also somewhat of an elder statesman of music, such as the aforementioned calling out of MTV and radio stations over their “white-washing” of black artists.
David Bowie was truly one of a kind, and we should be so lucky if someone comes around in our lifetimes that is even half as talented and wise as he was.
Thank you, Mr. Bowie… You were probably the closest thing to Mozart modern music will ever see.
“Tell my wife I love her very much
***She knows!***”
I can think of few parts of songs that I find more touching.
That and Modern Love are my favorite Bowie tracks. 69 is a decent stretch. Glad he got that last album out and passed away as someone that was still regarded as a legend, and not just remembered as one.
Yeah dude, I KNOW, but we’re looking at an outpouring of affection and gratitude from the entire English speaking world, which seems to me like a different and more reasoned thing than a stadium of screaming fans.
lol damn, posting another one in case its real. Otherwise I just need to see Bowie edited into random shit like he is the unknown version of Dr. Who that happened while the show was in hiatus.
I never knowingly listened to his music but I feel obliged to pay my respects simply because he was great in one of my favorite movies growing up, The Labryinth.
