RIP David Bowie

Found out this morning after I got to work and haven’t had a chance to post until now.

RIP to an incredible legend… I haven’t checked out all his stuff, but those that I do know are amazing examples of songwriting. He was also somewhat of an elder statesman of music, such as the aforementioned calling out of MTV and radio stations over their “white-washing” of black artists.

David Bowie was truly one of a kind, and we should be so lucky if someone comes around in our lifetimes that is even half as talented and wise as he was.

Thank you, Mr. Bowie… You were probably the closest thing to Mozart modern music will ever see.

Rest In Peace, David Bowie…

Nickleback has been trying to kill me sonically for years and been trying to made every proud Canadian die of shame.

R.I.P. David. Your work here is done, but will NEVER be forgotten.

First David Bowie song I ever heard. You’re gonna be missed man.

MMmh, I always thought SNK created Ramon based on Bowie’s look on “Little Wonder”…

Good night, to the man who sold the world.

…You do know who David Bowie is right?

toasts

“Tell my wife I love her very much
***She knows!***”

I can think of few parts of songs that I find more touching.

That and Modern Love are my favorite Bowie tracks. 69 is a decent stretch. Glad he got that last album out and passed away as someone that was still regarded as a legend, and not just remembered as one.

Yeah dude, I KNOW, but we’re looking at an outpouring of affection and gratitude from the entire English speaking world, which seems to me like a different and more reasoned thing than a stadium of screaming fans.

This cover of “Space Oddity” was recorded on the International Space Station:

David Bowie himself called this version “possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created”.

there have been some pretty amazing pictures being posted of Bowie with other talent:

lol damn, posting another one in case its real. Otherwise I just need to see Bowie edited into random shit like he is the unknown version of Dr. Who that happened while the show was in hiatus.

I would accept David Bowie as Doctor Who in half a heart beat.

Seems legit.

I’m sure Bowie was most proud of this.

I never knowingly listened to his music but I feel obliged to pay my respects simply because he was great in one of my favorite movies growing up, The Labryinth.
