I’ll try and come around 4-5 maybe earlier cuz its Blazblue.
I only got a ps triple stick, though lol
Yah, I bring enough shit as it’s since I don’t play SFIV so I bring my laptop to make it easier to play the games I wanna play with peeps. That looks pretty good for $5, but yah I don’t wouldn’t want some wobbly table. Let me know if its good!
Don’t listen to Lane…he just doesn’t want you to come cuz he don’t like SFIV.
I wish it was a bit roomier but there’s ways to accommodate. We could always try to use that bit of space in the back if things get tight. Blazblue will be the game that starts us branching off into playing multiple games at once here which is cool. It’s better when the mainstream gamers aren’t hogging rock band or COD4 when they could be playing it at their houses. :arazz:
I have a feeling 3s might be removed from EVO after this year. I really hope it stays alive or like DJ said, maybe some #37 moment allows the game to keep its lifespan going at evo. I mean its sad that it took that to get people interested in the game.
From what I’ve seen at least from the forums people are fine with letting 3s wither away. I think even Super Turbo/HDR will get the boot if it doesn’t get people interested.
The only reason this seems probable is because of the huge influx of games this year.
Meh, Ima still play it anyways no matter what. I mean people still play XvsSF…lol
CTF still has local tourneys and shit.
Nah 3S will be gone by next year. Evo wants to push the new games to help them further into possible sponsorships and old looking 3S ain’t gonna cut it. On top of considering the game is never a good spectators game at Evo unless multiple mid/low tiers make it into top 8. Even then if they aren’t winning matches (Chun/Yun usual Evo arpe) then it’s not all that as a spectating game.
As much as I love 3S the only time I had real fun watching it at Evo (outside of Evo2k4 since I wasn’t there) was Evo2k7 where the single match format had mad random people making top 8. We’re just not good enough with the mid/low tiers (and it’s hella hard in the first place) to keep up with the GDLK YCK’s that dominate the game. Thus everyone assuming the game is a top tier poke fest when it’s really not.
SBO would make for much better viewing from a spectators perspective and the reason they’re doing 2v2 in the first place at Evo. In hope that this is the first 3S finals in a while that isn’t a bore to watch. SFIV Finals at least will be interesting to watch for a few years since the game is growing and developing and the characters are much closer in matchups. Even the statistically worst characters in SFIV still have very few really bad matches. It’s possible that if someone dedicates themselves hard to any character they can place highly. Especially now that the fighting games as a genre has basically resurged people will be hungrier than ever to actually learn and play IV at a high level and that means anything can happen.
Agreed - a good time was had by all who showed up. Honestly, I wasn’t even going to come last night - but my date got cancelled and I was in the area.
Purbeast, I need to be more aggressive like you were last night - and yeah, our mirror match was horrible.
I think I’m past the point where I can make excuses about being new to a stick; I’m pretty comfortable now, especially since I did that spring mod. I’ll definitely be back in the coming weeks and working on my stick execution/combos in between sessions.
