That’s what I was thinking! I was watching the recent Ricky vs insanelee vid from tekken.net, and she seems pretty cheap, which is a big plus.

I wanted to go there today, but I had a major exam, that and my car needs to be fixed.
For some reason Julia feels slower on this game, I remember how quick she was on Tag and T4, but she is still good, just a little bit harder to use.

I swear, sometimes when I go out (which is rarely now) the amount of SRK geeks nut-licking people that can kick their ass makes me sick.
Mike was telling me at the one PSM tournament (the one before the last one) about how people are all happy and shit around each other at meets and tournaments. I used to feel like the stone faces at SHGL should lighten up, and I used to throw a joke into the crowd occassionally… but now when I go to arcades and tournaments, I gotta admit that all the happy talk is plain embarassing. Maybe it’s just me, but the people that are participating seem to be riding some wave that barely exists for brief shits and giggles. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to be giving false hope to the people that really care about SF and are trying to revive it the best they can. I can tell the people that really do care… they wouldn’t admit it if you asked them, but their actions speak louder than their words. The thing that is just plain annoying is that I used to be like them… the reason I stopped wasn’t because of people that half-assed their way through activities (God knows there were plenty of those types back when I was doing Pentland in 02-03). The reason I stopped was because of a plain lack of resources. I couldn’t accomodate the kind of crowds that were showing up every single Friday and Saturday (waiting time for each set-up was beginning to get to like 10 minutes!)… and even though I was kind of fed up (it might have showed), I would’ve been more than happy to oblige the scene had I had the money and time to.
Now I see the people that care doing what they can and it’s just plain sad what kind of “competitors” they have on their hands. These people play and laugh when they get beat. Like “Oh man, it’s just a game” has turned into the phrase of the millenium or something… and I apologize to you pussies for saying this but you all need to get off your asses with that mighty ducks “play for fun” bullshit and learn how to fucking play before SF dies. Either that or let it die because the state I’ve seen it in lately is just pitiful. Stop talking about legends that don’t even exist… if the fool is in front of you and whooping off in your ass, he ain’t no goddam legend. Just cuz he’s on APEX or ranked in Evo or whatever don’t mean shit either. Think about why you got fucked up instead of asking him to validate your sorry ass existence with a stupid joke or “wisecrack” about why you lost and why he’s good. I swear… it looks like the people that actually wanna win are stringing you faggots along because they’re afraid you’re the only players they got… and the most ironic thing about it is that if you bullshit SRK geeks would get off your asses and try to find an arcade to play at, you’d kill everyone there… but flake as soon as somebody that actually travels far or does rank enters the room. AND OF COURSE THEY’RE GONNA SAY THEY RANK… you think that person’s gonna just let you beat him without trying to psych you out or give you a brass ring to go for? What fun is it for an actual competitor to teach? Why does it take someone like me to come along and say that shit before it actually occurs to you…?
That’s why I look at this dismal shit and seriously wish things were like they were back in the day… even if they were a little more tight lipped and less relaxed. I mean, I looked like an idiot to everyone at SHGL when I cracked jokes and did voices in the serious crowd… but at least I got respect and could hang out in the enviornment without bitching about every single guy that didn’t shake hands… man, I remember that some cats in SHGL wouldn’t even talk to you when you spoke to them… I still hung out… nowadays if someone doesn’t say what’s up to you without giving you a big ol’ pat on the shoulder and pep talk, people seem to get upset like “WHAT’S WRONG?? WHAT DID I DO?? DON’T YOU LIKE ME ANYMORE??”
I even heard that this one fool got all upset because I asked him to call me “Jose” instead of “ZAZA” all the time… and had a whole fucking bitch-fest conversation about it! WTF??
Serious, though… people need to step up their game and stop acting like the whole world is a warm and fluffy place. Why couldn’t you go to the arcades by yourself anymore, huh? People act like you’re weird if you don’t roll with a crew or something… back in the day, niggas used to show up at SHGL and arcades ALONE… they used to go all the way to FF BY THEMSELVES… now if you don’t have a crew or someone, people are scared to go. I’m pretty sure everyone knows Lawrence works at TILT now (meaning he can fix little problems w/3S)… why not play there every Friday until close and go to Pentland or someone’s place afterwards? Or PSM, then Pentland…

Sure I’m a little competative but the reason I like playing GAMES because GAMES are supposed to be fun. When 2 people play chess and one loses, does the other fuckin flip the board over and stomp out of the fuckin room? For me, SF is about progression at a pace that I can figure out shit, and it dosn’t involve winning all the time, but it dosn’t matter to me, it’s still fun.
