Whoah what? Ninja Slade was way OP. He one shot everything in his way.

Oh snap! I just realized it - the green guy in the Captain N show who is supposed to be Mega Man isn’t really Mega Man, it is Quint, a character from the Game Boy games who actuallly happens to be… Mega Man from the future!

Mind blown

My dad bought the game randomly from blockbuster when they were cleaning up some of their nes games for cheap. It was really good.

I’m willing to bet you still remember this bgm. One of my favorites.

@Tekno_Virus: Hmm…you might be right. I just remember he die so quickly before everyone upgrades to their respective job class.

Regarding game commercials, I’m amaze on how much they got away with considering its supposedly for kids their advertising to especially the SEGA ones.

Also, Sonic’s Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection is $14.99 up in Walmart.

I play mostly old games, modern titles have mostly forgotten about challenge and seem to be movie wannabes ashamed of being games. Besides arcade ports there’s not much of interest to me in modern gaming save the odd game here and there, like Dark Souls.

Playing a lot of STGs (mostly Psikyo ones, working on a 2-ALL on Sengoku Blade) and belt scrollers (1CC’d The Punisher and Alien vs. Predator, going for Shadow Over Mystara and Powered Gear next). As for sidescrollers, I really liked Saigo no Nindou, a great Irem gem. Excellent weapon system and level design. It’s not too hard once you know what to do, but if you don’t the game tears you apart as usual with Irem.

Funny thing I was just watching this a few weeks ago…dat princess would get the DP FADC!!!

I never realized just how THIRSTY link was in that series and how sexually charged everything was for a damn kids show.

This just reminds me how man moist I am for Captain N and the EXCELLENT Zelda cartoon.

i remember completing Batman Forever for the snes but I’ve forgotten how all levels or even how the bosses looked like. The only thing I recall is that game being really frustrating.

what do you expect from a game with 8 bit graphics?

That Genesis collection is solid. If it had online play, it would be ridiculously awesome.

Love some Batman and Robin.

Genesis Batman and Robin beats the shit out of the SNES game. It’s the game Revenge of the Joker on the NES should have been. Music is bitching too.

Y’all know about this game right? (Rudra no Hihou)

That game really showed off how great 8 bit can be visually…a shame not more games looked like that.

Fuggettaboutit.

I’m so out of the loop on modern gaming that all i bother to play now is old stuff, usually for the Genesis.

Anyone else here legit beaten a Ghouls n’ Ghosts title? I dunno what it is, perhaps because i’m older i’m more disciplined, but i could never come close to beating these games back in the day.

Now? I can beat ghouls n’ ghosts(2nd game in the series, Genesis port). And right now i’m working on beating Super Ghouls n’ Ghosts for the SNES. No cheating or emu use BTW.

Not seeing enough sport games

Just re-beat NES Castlevania. Used 1 Savestate on the beginning of level 3 where you have to jump on that moving platform just as a bat flies right at you and their altitude varies. Other than that, still holds up.

NES Castlevania weapon tiers

**S+**Holy Water/Holy Perfume: best overall weapon. Destroys the Medusa, allows you to easily destroy those Knights by luring them in and wailing on them, completely rapes the Grim Reaper if you spam the Holy Water on the top right platform just as he appears, and it pretty much rapes Dracula’s 2nd form.

**A+ ** Stop Watch: best weapon for intense platforming sections. Allows you to easily beat those 2 screens in the last level where Midgets and Falcons are flying in. Completely worthless against bosses except Medusa.

A Holy Cross: good overall weapon and if you weren’t able to get the Holy Water it’s your 2nd best bet against the Grim Reaper. You could use it against Dracula but unless you’ve stored up a ton of hearts it makes more sense to save your hearts and invest in the Holy Water for the 2nd form. 2nd best weapon at dealing with the Knights/Medusa Heads bullet hell.

A- Axe: the only time you need to use the Axe is against the very first boss -no duh- and otherwise it’s okay but other than reaching certain Candles or dealing with Skeletons in an annoying spot it’s not that great of a weapon. In the final level it’s obvious that they gave you the Axe to deal with those giant bats but they have so much health that it’s a better option to just avoid them, save your hearts, and get the Stop Watch.

**B **Dagger: only time I get it is at level 3 where you fight Frankenstein’s Monster and the Midget boss. Usually that’s my luck, I usually go with the Stop Watch throughout most of the level. It helps a little in that specific boss though. The trick is to stay to the left of the right-most platform and wail on Frankenstein’s Monster and as soon as the Midget starts to fire more frequently towards you, you jump on the right platform and get in the corner and continue to wail on the Monster and use Dagger.

Loved Acme Allstars. Definitely one of my favorite Genesis games.

Anyone play Hagane on Super Nintendo? I beat it recently, it’s a shame the game is so unknown, because it’s really entertaining.

Basically it’s a ninja action platformer, with a huge move set. Your jump goes really high vertically, but you can cancel it into a somersault that goes straight horizontally. The platforming feels really good. Not to mention it has a ton of weapons (grappling hooks, bombs, swords, shurikens, etc.)

Does it count if it’s not a 1cc? I beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts a long while back, and I also beat the arcade version of the genesis one…In an actual arcade! Which was great fun.

Of course I used a lot of credits. I have yet to do a legit 1cc run of any of them.

Hagane was okay. I’ll have to try it again some time because I think I didn’t know how to approach it with all the shit you can do.
