Don’t forget Shock Troopers.

Penis.

Genesis has Alien Soldier. It wins action game catagory by default.

Ahhh, Sega Genesis. You know, besides Streets of Rage seris(Who M.D. has covered in-depth), my particular favorite was Shining Force. In particular, I liked Shining Force 2 of the Genesis series, mostly when they introduced Peter, the phoenix. It was one of the tactical-based games that I tried playing through the end when I was younger.
With that, I proudly wear my ‘Sega Genesis’ veteran of the Console War ribbon. … Even if we lost in the end. :frowning:

dat beat!

Holy shit. I remember that ad from my dad’s PC magazines from over 20 years ago. Never noticed the cock boss.

Eh, Alien Soldier is good but Gunstar Heroes trumps it in every way except in number of boss fights.

Since my mind is on this while I’m here.

A few years back me and my bro where playing SOR 1 He was axel I was adamn.

We went through the game till mr X asks you to comply and we did so we cause we were fucking that shit up, and we were tired of beating the game the regular way.

So we made it back to stage 8 and at the wrestlers I had gotten grabbed and then the game went to it’s stage 8 clear jingle and points allocation and then the credits came up.

We had beaten the game without any run in with Mr.X at all

Has this happened to anyone else? I only have the save state of the record we had. We were playing on Sonic’s ultimate genesis collection.

Such sweet game now that I look back on it.

sniffles You make me smile and cry at the same time.

SoR1 had alternate endings. If one player chooses to join Mr. X and the other doesn’t, P1 and P2 fight each other, and if the traitor wins then defeats X he takes over the crime organization. Something like that.

But that still requires directly beating the shit out of Mr.X

We never laid a finger on him.

I remember watching this show waaaaaay back.

Dang, I’m getting old. :frowning:

Ah… that takes me back to early childhood, when screaming rock guitars had to be included on the soundtrack of anything designed to appeal to kids. The first video sounds like a Rockman preamp (Bostom, mid-80s, ZZ Top), though it could be a Marshall JCM800 with a midrange boost.

Anyway.

Anybody else remember this crap?

OK, I get it that the makers of the show probably didn’t have acess to the manuals and original Japanese source materials, and that is why the characters look so radically different from their game counterparts… But seriously, why the fuck did they color Megaman GREEN ???

Ever played the GameGear remakes of Shining Force on Sega CD? That shit was epic.

Ahhh yes Captain N…or “why doesn’t he literally abuse the Start button on his belt controller since it obviously stops time and has no restrictions on it”?

Mega Man was horrendous, but nothing as terrifying as gay-ass Simon Belmont. Even as a kid, I thought that shit was wack…

-Damn…good ole’ Shining Force. I must have beat that game at least 5 times…both Shining Force 1 and 2 (Peter the Phoenix top tier, Slade the Thief shit tier even after turning ninja, nigga dies in 3 hits still  ). I wanted to play the Sega CD version so bad but alas, was broke as fuck. To this day, I still can’t believe SEGA priced that add-on system at $249.99.

-Captain N was the shit; it’s all about dat belt!

Jackie Chan’s Action KungFu is one of NES’ gem title; awesome gameplay, boss battles, stages and dat MUSIC. Can you imagine a reboot of this game in any of the new handheld system? silky smooth gameplay, animated intros/endings, screen-filling boss battles. The Game Over music is forever ingrain in my head.

Got my Sega CD & 32x on bundle clearance from Toys R US for $49.99 for both.

That Jackie Chan looking nothing like Jackie Chan…
