Agreed, Dan isn’t hard to play at all, he just requires, a little more creativity(with what you have to work with) to win with than most characters.
I keep getting good responses when I win with Dan. I kind of wanted some funny hate mail, but no one seems to hate on my Dan. When I play Zangief people seem to not like it though, I got a message asking me if grabbing was all I could do(when I play grappler characters I do tend to use grapples a lot, strange coincidence). Maybe more people really appreciate Dan then I realized.
I just got my first rage-quit!
I just had a G1 Akuma ragequit on me as I was about to finish him off after dominating two straight rounds. I sent him my typical “Dan’s scary, huh?” message, and he responded complaining that “he couldn’t move”. Of course he couldn’t move, I was beating him from pillar to post and knocking him down every time he got up with a predictable Shoryuken. I poked more fun at him running away from Dan, so he tried to blame his XBox controller. Which, of course, doesn’t fly with me, because that’s what I use too. Finally, he challenges me to a rematch. I wouldn’t normally go out of my way to do that, but I notice that he’s actually in the custom game queue for the next Championship Mode match, so I join his game.
This time he picks Ken. This gets my hopes up already. He fights better in the first round, as I mistime my Knee of Justice bunnyhop and eat his wakeup Ultra instead of dodging it. I still rally from that and take both rounds, dizzying him in the second round. No ragequit this time. I go to write a message congratulating him for sticking this one out, and he sends me a message while I’m writing. I finish sending mine anyway, only to find out that he’s left me a voice message. With immense sarcasm dripping off every word.
“I didn’t run. Are you happy? I didn’t run. DAN.”
For better or worse, that message made my day. 
He sounded so hateful!

I played this one guy last week. Beat him 1 match and he said:
“OMG DAN WTF NOOB CHARACTER TOP TIER!!!”
Beat him 4 more times and he said:
“OMG DAN!!! 2010 EVO…MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!”
It would be great to see a Dan place very high in any popular tourney. Instant popularity to any person that makes it in the top 10 at EVO with Dan.
I think all the fun opponents are on PSN, because I rarely get any response at all with Dan.

Im never sore about losing to Dan. There was a G1 dan that I faced in what I think was my 2nd G1 match. I sent a message saying “I never thought I’d have to learn the dan matchup” I was most impressed. Haha
Like I said I only get messages if I lose. Nobody ever compliments me when i win, thats usually when I get the “your cheap” or “my little brother was playing” messages. People give me props for a close match where I lose, 20 bucks says they would be too busy breaking their stick over their own head if they ended up losing.
yeah. plenty of “gracious” winners out there.
though lately, i haven’t been getting much mail. two days ago some guy beat my seth and he messaged me “you should have won”. that was cool.

I don’t play Dan, I play Abel but I’m here to say that anyone who thinks Dan is a free win is an idiot. That’s half the reason he dominates in the first place. People go in thinking he won’t be much better than a training mode dummy and they get rocked.
so I just ran into this guy again on another one of his accounts. and we did have quite a few back and fourth messages. I will give him this, he went much further without threatening me this time. He got pissed of when I cornered him and just kept using the knee of justice. I don’t have what I used for the screen caps anymore so I will type it all out . keep in mind that the spelling and english mistakes in his messages are not my mistake, that is how they were sent. I was hoping he would send a phone number again so I could see if it was the same as last time but no luck

Oh I am garbage? What does that say about you, the guy who lost to the garbage player? And for your information I do know more than 1 move. Perhaps you should look into this “blocking” I have heard so much about. Oh but why should you have to change your game plan when you’re losing, obviously your opponent should be the one to stop using what is getting the win.
