I just won 9 matches in endless battle against three people with Dan(and my Dan isn’t that respectable, I just have always loved the character) and lost the tenth. Afterwards all three of them complimented my Dan. Apparently he isn’t that represented online?

I beat a Adon today one of the many sense evo and after i won he claimed i was messing with the connection lol i didn’t even know that was possible.
This was in a endless match too. He started taunting me during the match and i after winning i told him to leave the taunting to the professionals i guess he didn’t like that lol.

I’ve been playing dan lately and made it to rank C so far. I was playing a makato who was ranked B. We ended up connecting via random ranked matches three times, all the matches were close. I won the first, they won the second. On the last one, it was tied one round a piece and they missed their ultra, As my ultra started they rage quitted :wasted: I think their name was king cabbage
4000 bp akuma was mopping up an 8 man endless battle room utilizing THE VORTEX. Combos EVERYWHERE.
But he was no match for SAIKYO FOREVER! The entire room burst into laughter and he immediately left.

I played a Vega a little while back in Ranked. I don’t pull many punches against Vega because he can be a pain poking with his normals and playing keepaway, so I rushed this guy down something fierce and kept pressure on him with Dankus. I eventually forced him into desperation backflips, but that wasn’t enough to spare him my Saikyo fury, and I handily crushed him in two straight rounds. So I get a message…
“Talk about a one trick pony”
My reply was something like “Rushdown is a very nice trick though! It’s what I have to do against a weak defensive character with no good reversal. To do otherwise would be foolish!”
“ok dude forget what i said explain what ure trying to say”
That response made me curious, so I elaborated. “Vega is a character with strong offense and a good spacing game, but weak defense. Dan is a character with strong offense but no ranged game. Thus, it’s in my best interests to get in your face and smash you before you can do anything about it. It’s how the matchup is played.”

I’m not sure what a blind spot is… maybe a space for the friend request that followed? But I’m guessing this 4000ish BP Vega player had never heard people explaining the game in those kinds of terms. Always fun, once again, to turn attempted hatemail into friend requests.

I just started playing again, havent played in over 6 months. I love the game and Dan and play ranked and invite matches online, just not interested in nor think I am good enough to compete in tourney’s. Just started playing SSF4 tonight. I was respectable in SF4, had a 60% win ratio only with dan about 10k online matches. Im a rusty pile of dung right now.
Secondly, Im technically not from “Chicago” I am from Joliet, but to people outside the chicago area its just easier to say that, as to avoid the prison stigma and or saying where the fuck is that. In college, a foreign exchange student thought I was a hardened felon for like 3 weeks, when I told him I was from Joliet, due to the movie blues brothers, he though Joliet was american slang for prison, not a city in which a prison exists. So when i said I am from Joliet he thought I meant I am from prison.
Anywho, i might be down just for some freindly play, work permitting.

Everytime I play a Dan, regardless of if I win or lose, I send a message. I main 'Rog (not anymore, I’m on a search for a new main, I’m maining random button for now) so when a higher Tier char loses to a low tier (though I know some players don’t believe in “tiers”), I have nothing but respect. If I lose, my message goes something along the lines of, “Usually I get mad when I lose, but now I am just speechless after witnessing your extraordinary SAIKYOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”, and if I win it’s just “SAIKYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” or “I love dan <3”.
That’d put a big grin on my face, good to see Dan support from non-Dan mainers :bgrin:
Arguably in defense of players that use higher tiers that get pimp slapped by Dan. Knowing matchups is a big aspect of the game. Alot of Dan mind games can catch you off guard if you arent familiar with him, and he actually has a rather extensive resume in that respect. How many times do people face Dan online, let alone one that knows what hes doing?
The odds are in most situations the Dan player will be familiar with most matchups hes in, whereas the opponent might not know crap about what Dan can actually do, imo that throws any tier list out the window.
Ignorance is no excuse
That’s what I love about Dan. When it comes down to it, they really don’t have an excuse. We took the time to master and hone our skills with the joke character. We know better than anyone that no matchup is free. It’s something everyone has to learn eventually, but few ever do, simply because they don’t see it as “necessary” when so few people use characters like Dan and Gen.
I have to agree, Dan gets talked down about and is treated as such a horrible character, I think people just assume he is so bad that no matter who is using him it would be a free win.
Fact is he isnt that bad as far as most of the cast is concerned, he just has a few matchups that are quite the uphill battle (for me primarily gief, blanka, honda) if said players have an idea of how to play their character.
Aye, I know that if I win with Dan it’s because I outplayed my opponent. There’s no two ways about it, plain and simple 
My most recent (and now my favorite) hate mail was, and i quote: “bitch uGotLuckFAG” from the worst Ryu player I’ve ever seen. 5000 bp and did nothing but literally lp shoryuken spam and reversal U2. Online, you so funny.
