Just finished the game today. Overall, I’d say it’s a 9 out of 10. Co-op is awesome, and the game is pretty much a prettier RE4 (which isn’t a bad thing). RE4 was better overall, but both are great games.
Regarding the story, now what? All the loose ends in the storyline seem to be covered, so I’m not sure what else there is to cover. It’s not like Capcom to just end a popular franchise like this, but who knows what they have in store in the future.
Well, just because they covered everything doesn’t mean they can’t start anew with the same stuff. A lot of the creatures from before are still alive, and I heard no mention that they eliminated any of the major viruses out there.
Plus, they could just have new viruses. You’d think with all the mayhem the viruses caused, people would eliminate them, but so far, there have only been attempts to make them better (i.e. quell all the zombie shit that springs from them).
Oh, 9/10 from me too.
Waiting to be a Leon//Claire and Chris//Jill Resident Evil together. Just one huge game…Yeah I know, I’m crazy.
for anyone that has finished the game and played mercenaries mode:
who do you think is the best and worst character so far?
i actually played mercenaries mode before i played this original game.
everyone is saying stars wesker is the best but so far i dont really see why. tribal sheva is a bit too good. Not saying shes the best, but one hit kill with the longbow and infinite ammo is a bit too good.

the rockets missed Wesker, just blowing up all the lava around him. RE6 doesn’t sound too improbable to me.
We have no clue on who Ada was really working for. She certainly didnt seem loyal to Wesker. Hunk, we have no clue what he even is.
We don’t know what happened to Shery. In Nemesis it’s stated the US government has her. Wesker’s Report says she “is in our hands”.
As for the rest, the story didnt mark the end of bio-weapons in the RE universe. Just Ourobouros. All that other shit is still out there, can be used again, and of course mic and matched with other virusses (sigh).
I think some of the Outbreak stuff wasn’t resolved either.
Tribal Sheva lacks sometimes, cause she doesnt have crowd control options. Same for Safari Chris. STARS Wesker is so good cause he has the Hydra. Check the Mercenaries leaderboards, solo and co-op for each level and see what characters appear most. STARS Wesker is top of the list.
Also, how in fucks name are the Japanse so good at RE? It’s rare to even see a non-jap in the first 100 or so people. (on PSN at least).

RE2 remake is what is next.
We want it. It must be done. We all want some more Leon madness and RE2 was pretty much the craziest RE (Next to 4) so it must be made.

Does anyone else feel that this game is just not…finished? I mean there are so many things that bother me about this game. For one that blond chick that gets fucked up at the beginning… Why show her in the trailer if she served no purpose what so ever? Dropped character?
I think what they did with Jill/Nina Williams was fucking terrible and could have been done much better. Now she has super powers? A Wesker-lite? GTFO. Terrible story.
As for wesker…I never saw him going out like that. It was so uncharacteristic of what we know about wesker. Wesker is supposed to be smarter than everyone. Birkin, Spencer, Marcus and all the rest. He played them all. And now he’s some OG B.O.W. lost puppy who’s power mad? It’s just so horribly jumbled it makes me think this was a bunch of ideas slapped together with the RE4 winning formula.

perhaps one of my biggest disappointments with this game…Wesker seemed to have lost it. also the story explains his story and I wasn’t feeling it. he was one of my fave villains but in this game eh…he just wasn’t cool anymore…
I’m sorry but Wesker’s brokenness had to come to an end. And it truly made sense for him to go crazy since he basically felt he had control over everything since Umbrella’s demise.
As for Jill, she only had those powers temporarily because of that thing on her chest.
I forgot about Ada, so maybe it’s not the last we’ll see of her. Why the fuck was Jill blond? I remember her being a brunette in RE3, and I don’t think she was blond in RE1 either. Curtains not matching the drapes? If so, WHICH ONE WAS THE REAL JILL?!
Regarding Outbreak, that shit wasn’t even considered canon, was it?
As for Wesker, he was kinda cool and all… but I don’t think I could stand meeting him doing horrible The Matrix impressions for another game.
According to the producer of RE5, they said the next game is going to be a reboot. So it’s probably gonna be new characters, new enemies, new storyline.
I was about to say that, this is supposed to rap this up completely.
outbreak isn’t canon per say…I think one character can be but not sure. if you read one of the files in RE5 (or was it a cuscene?) that they mention Jill as a subject made her skin paler and changed her natural hair color due to her getting weskerfied.
and of course it misses things…Ada is still a big ? she just disappeared? I don’t accept that…
yeah i agree that leon has more of the “swag” thing going on but c’mon…

I still say Leon is a bigger badass. Not only did Leon fight Birkin, but he Solo’d RE4 while babysitting, and owned up the hurdle race on the falling piece of random ground in Degeneration. He is that good. Chris did hyper combo finish a big fucking rock into lava though: that counts for something.
Chris didn’t peace out anybody. If Sheva wasn’t there to bail him out, he would have gotten fuck owned by Wesker. :shake:
Back to the rock. Me and my friends were all :looney: looking, when he used his sophisticated otg combo on the rock. If this dude can uppercut a rock that’s probably weighs a billion times more than he does, why doesn’t he just use melee the whole game. lol I’d punch a fucking uroboros creature.

But you’re comparing Birkin and some spaniard fools with Wesker, we’re talking about totally different power levels. After all, Wesker could have easily crushed Krauser. Krauser dies just after some magnum shots, while Wesker on the other hand… Leon has no experience dealing with THAT kind of stuff, he’d probably need 3 equally-experienced partners just to have a shot at it.
Leon would kill Wesker with hilarious one liners. Wesker is small time.
well, leon is badass indeed but i got my doubts leon could have handled wesker alone by himself. wesker was just too broken to be dealed alone. i can remember i missed one of the qte’s when they were fighting on the plane and he just broke chris’s neck like it was a toothpick.

Leon went up against Birkin and the God virus though. That’s plenty of experience there. Chris went man to man against Wesker like 2-3 times before RE5 and would have gotten killed each time, if not for some dumb outside reason.
First time:
-Wesker uses force punch.
-Christ faints.
-Wesker spots a wild Alexia and leaves battle.
Second time:
-Chris uses Iron Beam.
-Wesker is hit, but is unaffected by Iron based attacks.
The battlefield is cast in a random fire
-Wesker laughs.
-Chris runs away.
Third Time:
-Chris and Jill use Duo attack.
-Wesker uses double edge and counters.
-Chris is hit with critical damage.
-Jill uses suicide.
-Chris wins the battle.
Meanwhile, Leon had help in RE2, but put in a lot of work in RE4 and Degeneration, with little to no help. Not saying he would win against Wesker solo, but yea. Leon took down El gigante with a Dog, a knife, and a handgun. This man needed an effin turret.
Wesker shouldn’t have lost to anybody, to be honest. He was that broken. The MGS4 vamp cop-out, was exactly that…a cop-out.
The rock got it the worst. :sad:
