Hahaha in a debate over at Gamefaqs right now about Dead Space and Resident Evil 5.
It never occurred to me, but Dead Space is more of a survival horror game now, than the series(Resident Evil) that pretty much pioneered the survival horror genre.
I gotta lot of hope for Dead Space.
I thought Dead Space was pretty action-y.
Few jump out scares here and there, but I wouldn’t make much of a distinction between the two.
Ok this is funny, the GT review of RE 5 all they do is shit on it for 10 min. Then they proceed to give it a 9.
That is GT in a nutshell. They score games based on industry standards, so even if they sound like they genuinely like a game, if it’s too niche, they won’t give it more than an 8, and if they hate on a game too much, but it’s getting high marks everywhere else, they’ll give it a high score.
Well, just because they have a list of complaints doesn’t mean they don’t like the game.
I personally am the same way. I can love a game to death, but easily know the flaws. I guess that helps me to appreciate what they got right more or something.

For me, the atmosphere of Dead Space made it more Survival than actionish.

Default Chris is probably top tier anyway, though. Hand Grenades = too good.

Ok, quick question.
My partner and I just called it a night (or at least he did)
We finished at a checkpoint and he left the game, if I want to go back and replay the chapters we already did with someone else, will that fuck up my continue? I could always resume chapter with him, but not checkpoint.
Also, the Adjule (infected dogs) with Big Man Majini combo are BEASTY together.
He should be able to resume checkpoint and then you would join him. Unless he also goes and replays chapters with someone else…
Oh. True. That makes sense.
But in other words, once you overwrite a save that was at a checkpoint in the middle of the chapter, you have to start the chapter over. That sucks. You should have multiple saves like in Devil May Cry.

How it happened was creepy too. I was manning the rifle thinking I have shit in check and he just pops up outta no-fucking-where in my sights. Before I could say “OH FUCK” I was dead.
Still nothing is as creepy as the RE4 regenerators. fuck what you heard.
I played through it on Impossible. It was definitely survival all the way. But yes either argument is supportable based on point of view.

You only need 40000 points if you’re going Solo. The 80000 points is when you’re with a partner

One player is fucking broken. One hit kills one 99% of the enemies.
The more I play this, the more pissed off at the computer AI I become. Should I just bite the bullet and go online with any random person? What if they suck more? Or what if I suck and am ruining their game?
