Those are the pics I found though, from gamesradar.

Sorry, I screwed up the link :frowning:

Here’s the right one.

Nope.

invalid request? NOOOOOOO!!!

Boo, they took it down for some reason. Here’s a link that quoted the whole article, and here’s the text.

It sounds amazing.

The especially shocking part to me was the part about The Executioner and Negro Dr.Salvadore splitting up and looking for both Chris and the Mercenary Girl.

The enemies seem so smart(Plus the sheer number that I saw) make this game seem very intimidating.

Chris:(if you think thats fast, wait untill you see me) grins

chris is very much like a basic hero but him and jill are the main characters, it wont surprise me if he makes leon look like a little boy in this outing, since both jill and chris were key members of the speacial police and leon being a begginer standard cop, I dont see it any other way

btw am I the only one seeing the link here…

god hand = test for resi 5

red dead revolver = test for gta4

urban reign = test for …?

online co-op mode sounds awesome pwesome :woot:

reading that makes me want to sing queen.
i want it all, i want it all, I WANT IT ALL…and i wan’t it NOW!

If Steve Buscemi was black…

New Resident Evil 5 Online Co-Op Details
Full game will feature jump in/jump out cooperative play.

Enjoyed Resident Evil 4, but wished you had some company while slaughtering hordes of ravenously infected villagers? Then boy are you going to be happy to hear this: The UK mag Xbox World 360 (via sister publication GamesRadar) has a new preview of Resident Evil 5 where – among other things – they break the news of full online co-op throughout the entire game. The preview appears to have since been removed from GamesRadar (though links on the site still point to it), but we managed to catch all the juiciest details.

According to the preview, main character Chris Redfield will be accompanied throughout his ordeal by an as-yet unnamed female mercenary (probably one of the two new female character recently revealed in Famitsu). This character will be guided by the AI when going solo, but a second player can take control at any time. This includes online co-op play, with seamless “jump in/jump out” design. (We’re assuming this game will actually have voice chat, unlike the woefully miscalculated Resident Evil Outbreak games.)

And speaking of mercenaries, the preview also revealed that the shoot-em-up Mercenaries mini-game from Resident Evil 4 will be making a return. Gameplay-wise, the preview reports that while the game will still lack strafing, it will add two contemporary features: a cover system to press up to walls and shoot around corners, and the ability to duck and dodge using the right analog stick.

The preview also revealed some new story details as well (and you might want to consider these some really small spoilers, just in case you want to know as little as possible going in). The game will apparently take place in a nameless African country near a line of active volcanoes that stretch across Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Kenya. When the game begins, everyone will at first be uninfected, and this time around it’ll be a long-dormant virus released through volcanic activity that turns the locals into zombie-like killers.

Moreover (and you might consider this an even bigger spoiler), the preview states the game will feature a number of classic Resident Evil characters (with Albert Wesker and Sherry Birkin being confirmed), including flashback episodes that’ll fill the player in on character histories that haven’t been explored yet.

One last bit of information, perhaps just as noteworthy as the co-op, is buried at the end of the preview: that the game will be released in 2009. Many have speculated whether RE5 would make it out this year, but is this casually mentioned date confirmation that it won’t see release until next year? Let’s hope not…

Aw yeah, baby. I found my hands in my pants after reading all that new info. Can’t fucking wait for this game to arrive now…

2009 is pretty far away. We better see some Degeneration this year then. I’m excited about the flashback feature. It makes me think that maybe we’ll be seeing some more characters like Barry, Rebecca, Jill, etc.

Co-op seems cool but I’ll be playing it a few times solo first probably.

2009 is only 6 months away, but the game will probably get a fall release meaning it’s about a year away. The past 34 years have gone by pretty goddamn fast so 6 months to a year is nothing.

I’m happy to hear that we’ll be able to get some background on what’s happened to certain other characters. I’m surprised to hear that Sherry Birkin will be appearing too. I can’t wait to see where they take this story. Even better, there has to be another conflict between Chris and Wesker.

Resident Evil 5 is due out by the end of the 2008 fiscal year, which is exactly no later than my next birthday. Probably a January release date like RE4.

yea, that beef has been goin on since RE… for all we know…

Online co-op? Sign me up. Wonder if Mercenaries will feature multiplayer as well…that would seal the deal.

[UPDATE] Resident Evil 5 now due out in November?

In March, we posted a rumor on how Resident Evil 5 was expected to hit as early as October (possibly Halloween). This was in support of the rumor that released in April’s issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Well, we’ve received an update from our source stating that Capcom has now pushed the title back to release in November.

We’ve also been told that Sherry Birkin (the young girl who assisted Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2) will play a role in Resident Evil 5. Since the game takes place 10 years after Resident Evil 2, that puts Birkin at about 22yrs. Old the perfect age for killing zombies.

Could she be the second playable character for the rumored Co-op? Only time will tell, however, this role may be reserved for the female mercenary recently shown in Japans Famitsu magazine.

With a new trailer set to debut May 31st, we hope some of these rumors will be answered. Stay tuned to PSU.com for more information.

UPDATE:

A mysterious countdown has recently surfaced on Resident Evil’s official website

Damn that’s a pretty big timeskip.

How old would that make Claire,Jill, and Leon then?

And by mysterious you mean “The countdown for the new trailer.”
