Porting this game onto the Wii isn’t going to help this game in terms of sales. It was one of the poorest selling (main) RE titles produced. I see no reason to buy this game when I have a Wii.

PSSST. I remember the day I bought RE4, I was gonna fuck around with it for a few minutes then I was gonna eat and REALLY dive into the game, as soon as I locked myself in that house and I heard that chainsaw rev up I turned the damn game off lol:rofl:
Because a simple port with enhanced controls is cheaper than completely revamping an entire game. I think everyone wants a RE2-Make, and Capcom knows this.

More RE is always good for me. I’ll definitely get this port but I agree that they should be remaking 2. It’s all fodder until 5 is released though. At least we also have the movie to look forward to as well…hmm
This gets me thinking, what if Capcom does have an RE2 remake in the works right now (seems logical since they’re port-happy at the moment). We could be seeing a remake or enhanced re-release of RE2 at some point to coincide with the film since it supposedly stars Leon and Claire. Capcom ported old RE games on GC just so players would be familiar with the franchise before 4 came out. I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same on the Wii and or first official movie release.
I don’t see how the wii-mote will be used in this game or how it warrants a re-release but it gives me a reason to go through RE0 again, I guess.

I’m sure Capcom’s got the idea in mind, they know how successful REMake was. Right now they’re putting all their effort into SF4 and RE5 after getting done w/DMC4. They’re probably going for as many ports as possible because they see how much more fun games are on the Wii.
Eventually they will get past all their A-titles and need something to reivigorate the RE series. That’s when RE2Wii will hit… I’m certain of it.
I’d be happy if they remade RE2 with an RE4/5 style of play.
When i first played the game he got me in the house too, but i had my backed turned trying to go thru the window… 
Turns out this RE0 port is for Japans only :(. I really hope there’s nothing new. Even the slightest little thing ( Rebbecca has new unlockable contact lenses) will force me to import. Damn you Nintendo and your regional locks. When will we learn?! 
Well, its just been announced for Japan. Give it time, it will probably be announced here, too.

The rumor section of EGM is reporting that RE5 will be out on or before holiday 2008. I think Qman (or whoever does the rumor section now) is really good at predicting Capcom news. He predicted HD remix and Bionic Commando recently. But, he’s also been off on a lot of things too. Why must he tease us?
If the news is true, then we should know by E3 if the game is due out this year. I do remember Capcom saying that we would see lots of new RE5 info after DMC4 was released.

I personally think it’s a false rumor or an April fools joke but Dot50Cal (the owner of the site) has had some tips that turned out true in the past. He apparently gets some sand in his vagina when posters, including myself, point out the possibility of an April fools joke.
In other news:
Famitsu will have a DVD containing an interview with the RE5 devs this week. It was originally said to be gameplay + interview but apparently it’s just an interview. But nothing is confirmed by Capcom. I’ll post the interview here when it’s released just in case anyone would be interested.
Capcom sure knows how to milk its products. Yeah, they are usually high quality titles, but damn how many ports/special editions/upgrades do we need of the same game? Street Fighter, Mega Man, Resident Evil, even Lost Planet and Devil May Cry have fallen into the cash cow category. They make some much money, I think they could afford to make some less-profitable titles, but noooo Clover Studio and its genius titles get kicked to the curb.
any company that makes a game like GodHand…needs to be “ball busta”'d instead of just kicked to the curb…
other than that, If it’s making you money and rehashing the same game is keeping the company from goin’ belly up, then you’d be a fool to think that this type of business decision is stupid or excessive. Hell, arc sys is doing the same exact thing and SNK has been doing it with KOF for the grip aswell. I say keeping milking it while you still can but dont go overboard.
