I got to play some umbrella Chronicles today at SDCC. Pretty cool. I went through the whole demo.
Is it anything like House of the Dead? Or is it much better?

UC is similar to House of the Dead in some ways. But it feels different and the enemies aren’t as crazy. At least not in the demo, which was pretty short. Reloading is kinda awkward and the demo had some visual glitches. I still enjoyed it and I’ll be getting it when it comes out.
Here’s Hunk performing the neckbreaker on me. His costume was pretty much dead on. All of it looked like authentic military/police gear. He had all the satchels and even had an MP5 and sidearm. It was a pretty cool cosplay:

Edit:Im guessing the girl at the end is none other than sherry birkin. Or the girl from RE4(Sorry, The name escapes me at the moment.)
I doubt it’s Ashley (RE4). She plays little significance other than the President’s daughter.
It has to be Sherry. After ten years, she has to have become high-priority considering who her father was. Who knows, perhaps she inherited much of his research and may be responsible for this new “virus,” if it even is that.
I find it interesting though that they’re making the enemies neither ganados nor zombies. I will admit that I’d love a zombie game again, rather than axes being thrown at me. No doubt it’s going to be a good game, but I miss the half-eaten corpses, empty eye sockets, and gushing blood you get from zombies.

Ashley was her name, God she was annoying as fuck. I dunno, It would explain sherry’s dissapearance, And by the looks of it she’s in a container…Maybe she’s been infected?
Trailer had me pumped:tup: I think the general consensus here that the girl is Sherry. I imagine Wesker took her after RE2 and may have done experiments on her to see what effects the G-virus did to her. Even though Claire cured Sherry the virus could still be in her DNA. Just my 2 cents.

wish they would’ve came up with something new and innovative rather than rehashing RE4’s style again. The great thing about RE4 was that it broke all the old conventions of RE gameplay and ventured onto an new path of it’s own. it’s 3/4 camera angle has influenced every game that has come out since.
Capcom should’ve kept Mikami so he could’ve done more innovative things, rather than keeping infune who just rehashes.
Game looks great though.
But the idea you’re suggesting is maddnes. Why the hell would they completely revamp it AGAIN only one game later? Why not just slowly build ontop of the formula started by Re4? wouldn’t that make more sense?

What else can they do though? They’ve improved on what was already arguably a good improvement. It’s not like 4 was a particularly big innovation itself, innovation has become slightly overrated.

And Inafune rehashes? He was behind two of the best original 360 games around (Dead Rising and Lost Planet).
And yeah, I can’t think of many improvements you could make to RE4. I guess some more weapon customization would be ok. And they have the faster action already…
