Resident Evil (Questions & Discussions) Thread

Was about to say…

What’s next? You gonna tell us about your Akuma play through too? Lol

This is why I don’t do Resident Evil Games…

resident evil 7 scared me so it accomplished its job unlike resident evil 6 where I could suplex zombies

I went in and played the midnight demo raw too and that monster got me too

cant wait

anyone played the demo in VR?

A half of me was scared and the other half was ready to fight evil rednecks (after watching AHS Roanoke) until I saw the monsters, but I’m sold. May download and play the demo after finals.

now that the game is out and a shitload of people have finished it, i’m waiting for this one to drop in:

enjoy guys.
edit: also, REBECCAAAAA!!!

Ummm. Did nobody else buy this RE7 but me? Lol. Anyway still in the beginning…but I’m feeling it. Not gonna lie it got a nigga kinda shook. Glad they made you kinda helpless and not OP. There’s no tension if I can belly to belly suplex niggas and side kick them imo

Edit: playing this on a 4k setup is crazy too btw. Graphics card clean as fuck.

I picked it up. Prob wont start until this weekend tho

i am 4-5 hours in so far.

From what i’ve seen so far it’s pretty much what every reviewer will confirm for you…It’s classic RE but in first person. Absolutely love it!

I’m a couple of hours into it myself. This game definitely has the classic RE feel. The detail on the game is amazing. For example

Spoiler

When you make you way to the old house I like how bug bites appear all over your arms when you get attacked by the wasps and spiders.

Game is fun. Feels short though, but it’s prob a good thing. Feels like all the shit in the game would get old real if it went on longer.

I’ve been scavenging every corner for loot, only going for head shots, running past as much enemies as I can, resetting when I miss. Yet I still only have about one clip per gun left.

Edit: Just finished the game. Final play time and stats:

It chose a good time to end as the tension was dying down. Solid game. I’ll probably play it again on madhouse mode sometime soon.

this installment really evokes that classic RE feel with the atmosphere and limited ammunition.
shit, ethan is just a regular guy with no fighting or survival skills and he’s dumped into this situation at the worst time.

very much deserves to be a numbered sequel, imo

@SNAAAAKE
you like that call out huh? lololol

Finished it last night. Definitely my favorite new game I’ve actually gone out and bought in the longest time. That said: I think the game does not close well to me.

[details=Spoiler] Everything leading up to the choice between Zoe/Mia for the cure was actually perfect. I was legit on edge most of the first few acts waiting for shit and it got me a couple of times. Once it went to a boat that sort of panned off, mostly cause it was another RE game that had a boat segment lol. But even that section was creepy, and not having a weapon as Mia the majority of the time made surviving very tricky.

However, the mine segment to the ending was terribly disappointing imo. Maybe it was the fact I had so much amo/weapons, but the on edge thing was totally gone and it felt like a more actiony RE title. Which is fine cause I fucking love those, but it wasn’t what I wanted out of this one. The closing sequences against Eveline were w.e since you basically just soaked her with bullets in a mostly story fight.[/details]

Left with a lot of plot points and questions, but it looks they they’re planning to cover most stuff with DLC.

So i haven’t finished the game just yet… And i’m pretty much just guessing at this point, but i’m confident that :

I made the right choice giving the serum to Zoe instead of Mia. I mean just use your head… Anything that comes out of those 2
fetus like thingys simply just can’t be good

I finished the game

[details=Spoiler]I agree with ribu. Everything up until you have to cure Mia or Zoe is excellent. I chose to save Mia since that’s the one time we actually met Zoe in person.

The game lost some tension to me by the time I reached the tanker. I got a good handle on how the molded behaved so getting pass them without weapons wasn’t an issue. Drawn to an open space to evade and closing doors behind you is all you need to do. The environment is still creepy so I give it that.

The mine sucked though. It almost dips it’s hand in the action route. I like that game used its atmosphere for the entire time to make you feel threaten instead of throwing powerful enemies at you. The mine section almost ruined it. Thankfully it’s short and not the final area.

Eveline being the old lady is a cool twist. She would creepy me out whenever I see her around the mansion. It will good when the game finally let me take her out.

I doubt that the Redfield that saves you in the end is Chris.[/details]

Finished the game, just got to the trailer on my second playthrough. Very satisfied with it, I hope it does well and has long sales tail. My biggest gripe is that key items take up your inventory space, I very much preferred the RE4 approach where those didn’t. Ended up taking way too many trips to storage bins as a result. The part everyone’s complaining about didn’t bother me, I like the catharsis after so much tense gameplay.

RE5 having a partner I felt is what made it not scary at all. Atmosphere wise if they just used a dusk or midnight setting the vibe would at least be better.

been awhile since i played resident evil. Played RE 4 and RE 5. Did not play 6.

Would it be better to play RE7 first or The Evil Within?

I was a big fan of RE 4.

Play Evil Within since it’s similar to RE4.
