Resident Evil (Questions & Discussions) Thread

I find it slightly annoying that people actually complained that in RE6 that Ada’s campaign wasn’t co-op so they added someone else. Do they not know how bothersome it would be to have a partner in her line of work, especially in the beginning on the submarine segment? It just seems suspecitible to frustration and constant failure because while one person is trying to be stealthy and stay out of the sight, the other is tripping all of the freaking alarms and trying to gun down everything in sight. :bluu:

I’m also kinda iffy about Revelations 2 being co-op, mainly because I partially would want it to be like RE4 where you only play as Claire and then Moira in some segments as with Leon and Ashley, but protecting Ashley was annoying and personally I’d rather have it to be like a solo act as done with The Evil Within for example. Also, it would be rather dumb if Claire can’t heal herself and that Moira was just there to hold a flashlight and be a healer, but reading about Moira’s role in the game made me think it over some more. Apparently she uses her flashlight to stun the monsters and in the art she’s armed with a crowbar (not that I’m saying she’ll use it). Maybe her gameplay will revolve around being an average person in the situations in which Claire has been in.

What I want from this game is when I play single player that it doesn’t have doors where I need to wait for the AI partner to open. That shit is stupid when I’m playing by myself.

I just hate when you’re in a crisis and the AI has the nerve to get you an attitude for telling them to hurry up.

Raid Mode Confirmed for Rev 2

Good. If I could I’d, buy just Raid Mode day-one & wait for the campaign’s full season to go on sale. Doubt it’ll work like that, tho’.

And again, this raises the conundrum; whether to buy on PS3 or PC. The former will obviously have the most shit graphics and/or performance, but probably also have the healthiest online playerbase (thanks to Japan’s love of RE & PS3 being the most popular of the five target platforms there).

EDITL Oh crap, I just remembered the campaign will have only local co-op. If the same holds true for Raid Mode, then my interest in it will plummet even further.

Why does Capcom keep trying to force co-op on people? Can’t we just get a single player campaign for once?

Co-Op should be a seperate mode with new levels if they really just HAVE to have the feature

Because if they did that, people actually would want to play their campaigns. And why would Capcom want people to play their campaigns?

Don’t they think consumers maybe want to play the game by themselves? I’m still annoyed that people begged Capcom to make Ada’s campaign in RE6 co-op; her scenarios are meant to be taken on alone.

this is uh…interesting

I told you guys! All these years, episode two end of Revelations 2 finally proved me right.

That file was real, my yomi skills are godlike.

Also resurrection of thread and all that. Game is fun.

I’m still waiting on the disc release, I thought the first revelations was great.

So RE Revelations 2 is available on Xbox Arcade for $5.99, while the disc release is of course $39.99 at Gamestop, and about $20+ on Steam. I don’t know whether to simply pay for the Xbox Arcade version since it’s the cheapest option unless it doesn’t come with offline co-op or all four episodes (as if done with Telltale’s The Walking Dead). Has anyone bought it on XBL?

All the episodes aren’t out yet so that’s for a single episode.

Thank you. So I assume it’s like TWDG when you purchase each episode?

I like revelations 2 more than RE5-6 , that says alot considering i have only played ep 1 and 2.
Only gripe so far is that there is no exploding heads / flying limbs , that’s to be expected by modern Capcom though.

It actually doesn’t say much because RE6 is mediocre to hell and back and RE5’s single player is just…there.

@Dramatix idk what it looks like on xbox but on PSN you can get the season pass for roughly 18€ (22$) which includes episode 2,3,4.
Episode 1 is the core game pack that includes raidmode. Before the release of episode 1 you could preorder the whole thing in a package
for 24€ (28$) , that way you would get tons of extras. Too good of a deal for me to pass on so i bought it digitally , but i’m sure i’ll
get the physical release later on too considering how much i’m enjoying it so far.

and @Saitsu it says alot because i have only seen half the game and i’m liking it more than those already.

I’ve been playing RE6 a lot lately and though it has its replay value, it’s indeed mediocre and I could write a book on the problems it has. Also, almost no one plays the other DLC (Onslaught and Predator) outside of Survivors, where everyone is literally a dick and the mode itself is hellish and unfortunately teamwork-oriented (you will almost always lose if teamed with randoms as the lobby leader is most likely accomplished by friends while part of a dedicated team, which I enjoy deathmatches more than team matches). Aside from that, the story/writing in 6 was just abysmal - Simmons covers up the Raccoon City incident with a bioterrorist attack instead of assassinating the President the old-fashioned way? Not to mention Carla, who was the main villain, took a backseat to let the worst villain in the series shine.

The pricing model isn’t to bad really, the disc outside of being the disc just has some of the dlc stuff.

Most people got a good 30 hours out of one episode with just Raid which is pretty fun.

Exploding enemies isn’t bothersome really, game has a nice vibe and looks fairly good for a budget title.

Thank you. I’ll keep looking because there’s nothing about a Season Pass on XBL. If anything, I’d might as well either buy the original Resident Evil on XBL or wait around and see what comes up.

@ExposedD Never mind found it.
