I would gladly give up immersion in flavor for some proper communication. A team based game isn’t worth playing if I can’t coordinate with my team.
one time, chick that speciallized in healing spent like five minutes looking out a damn window.
as i’m telling her in-game to come on, she gets snatched by a window zombie.
after just watching what actually would happen dealing with IRL blonde broads… I reset the game.
One guy just stayed in the office. realized it, came back he’s getting attacked by a zombie that was never their the first time.
saved him, just for him to still refuse to follow me. beat the game a few times, took it to gamestop.
Also hated the fact that someone had an item you needed and sometimes they wouldn’t listen to you or they didn’t know why you were asking for that item, because once again communication wasn’t there so I could tell him that the item was for this specific puzzle to move on in the game. I felt like at times to get on a mic and just screaming “GIVE ME THE DAM ITEM SO WE CAN MOVE ON!!!”
Professional Mode is gay as shit.
That is all.
Plot-heavy RE6 Captivate trailer

Your avatar describes that final standoff in the video perfectly.
Old man Leon is going to suplex the roids out of Chris!
Lol @ Wesker Jr. No wonder he was styling on people with Melee. I guess this is what a nerfed Albert Wesker is going to look like?
Soooo…Ada is behind all this? I gotta say that is a helluva payoff considering we didn’t know what her intentions were.
On the outbreak discussion, Take away AI and give it a good online system like the 360 and we be all good. After all, most of all the main titles have been ported, time to port the outbreaks. I won’t be caught dead playing the game with the AI again, and with mic support i would play that shit over and over.
Resident evil 6 is simply going to be the shit. Cannot wait for it. I just hope it has coop like 5. Ever since two i’ve been raving over the beauty a 2 player resident evil would bring. personally, they should have made one with two player old style controls. They could have done it with zero, but they didn’t. Now that they did it with RE5, they can’t drop the coop.
For those who were complaining about RE5’s crap verbal commands, get a mic and play it online. The AI wasn’t horrible, and those commands are fine as they are to bridge the communication between player and computer ally. Stop expecting that those had anything to do with communications to another player.
Sooooo excited for RE6. That trailer was awesome! Team Chris or Team Leon!? :V
It’s obviously going to have co-op. Each character has a female partner and I wouldn’t be surprised that after that standoff that Chris and Leon work together.
Chris
Leon
Boulder Puncher
Suplex King
BOWs must be shaking in their boots.
Sheva’s AI could have been a little better for higher difficulties but yeah RE5’s coop was straight. I just got done beating it again with my gf. So we are both looking forward to RE6 now. And on that note, Whoohoooo! Dramatically Bumped Up Date!!!
The game looks smooth as hell…the animation is leagues above 5…
Leon still has a hard on for her it seems…but she is evil as hell…Chris should take this free…
I need this game…now.

I think people want to go back to the era of something like RE4. ALOT of people don’t like the direction of co-op in Resident Evil because it takes away from the tense atmosphere that the OG games had. It can work provided that they tweak it or at the very least make it optional. I still get a kick out of people that can’t take the nostalgia glasses off and realize that RE4 was probably the best Resident Evil that Capcom made coming out of the original series.

lol Wesker’s son.
Mercenaries in this game should be awesome though,
That trailer makes me feel so much better after watching today’s DmC trailer.
I see where your coming from, however i think that outbreak did the coop system appropriately. Most people who say RE 4 is the best resident evil mostly bases it off of the gameplay. The gameplay style of 4 was fine, but when you add the coop element, it takes the difficulty of the game away, thus the horror also becomes obsolete, which is what made the old resident evils so awesome.
when comparing everything before 5, the puzzle aspect of resident evils 1-3 are dominant in comparison to resident evil 4. The gameplay style of 1-3 also added so much more horror to it in comparison to 4 and 5, more notably the camera angles hiding what enemies may be ahead, how close or how far from the edge of the screen are they etc. This is something that simply cannot be reimagined now that resident evil has moved to over-the-shoulder camera view.
I say all this because, you CAN NOT compare resident evil 4 to the earlier in the series. You can’t say one is better than the other, because in essence they are completely different games. On the other hand, you can argue the gameplay as better or worst. As a huge mercenaries fan, the coop system is a must for me. RE3 had a great mercs mode with rewards for your accomplishments. RE4 had a fun mercs mode, but i didn’t find replayability in it. RE5 however, with coop leaderboards, I still haven’t stopped trying to break my records. My friend and I have gotten so close to breaking a million on prison, and until we do, the game will never die.
If you wish to argue RE2 vs RE3, i would love to argue 3 as the better one. Most people, even my brother, argue 2 as better. 2 didn’t bring in much to the plate as in new things. It was re1 in a new setting, with new characters, sequeling the storyline. 3 Brought in my favorite boss (nemesis), the gunpowder system, split second decision “choose your path” scenarios, a dodge function (not originally intentioned, until they found out that without it, nemesis was “broken” lol).
The comparisons however between 4 and these earlier titles cannot be argued on nothing more than the gameplay aspect. As for the coop aspect of 5, i agree with tweaking it, and 6 may have done just that. With the new moves that leon was doing in the original trailer, the difficulty must have been ramped up. Difficulty has its own role in making a horror game more “horrifying”. I think re5’s biggest downfall was the lighting. Set in Africa in the middle of the day, even if the town is run over by zombies, it just looks like a fun shooting spree to me instead of a survival challenge.
In the same instance of real life, if zombies took over the populace, i would make my wal-mart runs during the day with AR-15 in hand. I wouldn’t be caught outdoors at sundown tho.
Holy fuck RE6 is so hype. That girl is Ada?
Looks like we might have that mix of old and new after all.
