RE0 had Billy. Therefore its amazing.
I got a lot of love for 0 myself.
Damn, I hope that RE Anniversary Collection makes its way to the US. I don’t know why I want it since I already own every game in it but, I just do.
RE0 was the retarded cousin of RE3:NEM.
Every time that leech-thingy showed up, cue that “thriller music”. Who wants to fight something that isn’t even scary and that bitch was in RE:OB just being more of a troll than an actual threat. And I can’t see how fighting gigaton scorpions would be fun unless it’s Runescape/WoW(sarcasm). RE0 was the “DMC4 of the series” IMO, ie, it had potential to be good but it was like they forgot how to make it good. REmake and RE4 changed that, thankfully.
Was RE0 worse than Outbreak? Nah, not even close. I can’t speak for Dead Aim since I never played it, but yea the two outbreaks were very corny.
Same. I own multiple versions of multiple games so buying this too wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for me.
Isn’t there a sequel with better visuals on the way sometime? Degen was better than that Jovovich/Anderson action girl wife-wanking crap. Bitch plays a fuckin’ Mary-Sue in EVERY damn movie she’s in.
Hey, Outbreak 1 and 2 were the best online games i’ve ever played :[
outbreak was playable on fucking dialup. thats badass
I heard the jap servers were still online and they gonna take it offline this week.
I didn’t say anything about online.
for the hell of it, OB’s “offline modes” were wack.
better?
Yea there is it’s called Damnation and it’s Leon again.
Seconding this, I only found out about it the other day and got really excited only to find that it’s not available outside of Japan.
I have RE1 on Saturn, RE2 and CV on Dreamcast, then RE4 on Wii and RE5 on 360. Would love to get the full series in a big pack like that, since I love what I’ve played of the series and wanted to do a full series run through one day (the order I played them in initially is pretty weird Code Veronica, 2, 4, bit of 1, then 5. Is it worth playing the Saturn RE1, or should I just opt to get the REmake on Gamecube or Wii? In any event, I cannot wait for Code Veronica HD, probably my favourite in the series, I still remember how much I loved every bit of that game when it first came out.
I never said I read it or cared for the script, just giving whoever that was a little heads up. If I wanted a Resi movie done right I’d put Robert Rodriguez on it, hand him a script about super cops doing stupid shit in a mountain mansion (with Ti West on as an advisory role) and boom, good movie.
In news news:
Capcom as you know has a booth set up for comic-con, and will host a Resident Evil event after a Street Fighter one. ORC will be in a playable build for the public, and some more news about the HD collection and other things should be shown. They are supposed to announce a new game, but I don’t think it will be a RE title despite the RE6 rumors circulating.
Anyone mess around with the Resident Evil: Deck Building Game? It’s like Dominion, but with zombies. The next card expansion comes out in August (probably), and is based on the 1st Outbreak game.
P.S. A Deck Building game is not the same as a CCG. You buy the cards in complete sets (for only $30 per base/expansion set).
Didn’t know they had a RE Deck building game.
Never even seen them anywhere.
I’ve seen them at all the game stores (card/board/tabletop) around here. Currently there are two sets, the Base set and a set called Alliance. They both work standalone, but the next expansion will not be a standalone (because it doesn’t come with the basic cards). The Alliance set introduces a new “partner” style of play, where you use two characters instead of one.
There are currently 3 game modes (Outbreak expansion will add another game mode):
- Story. You play till someone kills the biggest monster in the monster deck, then add up points to see who won.
- Mercenary. A score attack mode where you have 15 turns to get as much points as possible. The big baddies are removed from the deck, time bonus cards are added to the deck, and you get a bonus multiplier for killing monsters on consecutive turns.
- Versus. You try to kill the other players. There is no monster deck.
- Outbreak. No one knows how this works. We only know that there will be “infected” characters.
If you have one set, then you have enough basic resources to play up to 4 players. If you have the first two sets, then you have enough resources to play up to 8 players.
Here’s the website: www.bandaicg.com/residentevil
At Gencon Indy, Bandai is hosting the first national tournament for the Resident Evil: DBG. It will be the first national tournament for any deck building game.
Read the how to play thing. Sounds pretty fun. Just need to find the time to visit a shop that has it.
Started Resident Evil 2 again for the first time since I was 12 in 1998. Got through the first cd but the 2nd scenario when Mr. X just randomly drops in when you’re minding your business fucks up my nerves and I really cant play the game, even though I want to.
Its not that im literally scared, but I hate surprises.
That element of surprise is whats really missing in the current games. Looking back on 4, it really was pretty creepy, because 5 totally blew the handle off and turned into an action game. I think if they brought back that idea of a Mr. X…constantly stalking you throughout the game, able to open doors and chase you around, that would really take it back to the old-school and up the ante on a game thats starting to feel a little too easy.
They also give you way too much ammo in the recent RE games.
And I hate how the harder modes just mean you take more damage. I miss the days where hard mode meant putting enemies in places they werent in before, just to fuck you up because you thought you knew the game so well.
EDIT: RE collectors edition might not be coming out over here but thats why PS3 isnt region locked…
besides RE 1-3 are already in the PS store. The HD versions of Code Veronica and RE4 will be DLC in the playstation store in October/November.
RE3 is still the only resident evil game that scares the shit outta me.
First few times you fight Nemesis is not fair. And I don’t want to bitch out by running from him.
For shits and giggles: here’s he drop item lis from RE3. Only on hard mode btw.
Eagle Parts A Dropped by Nemesis the first time you defeat him
Eagle Parts B Dropped by Nemesis the second time you defeat him
First Aid Spray Box Dropped by Nemesis the third and sixth times you defeat him
M37 Parts A Dropped by Nemesis the fourth time you defeat him
M37 Parts B Dropped by Nemesis the fifth time you defeat him
Infinite Ammo for one weapon Dropped by Nemesis the seventh time you defeat him
can I still keep these weapons if you play the game again(totally forgot)? I remember getting a random handgun with scope or something.
