I honestly only brought up LOTR Conquest because it allowed you to play hero units in multiplayer, even though I only really played it back when the multiplayer demo had lots of people on it.
But an outbreak style gameplay would be great (I’m assuming thats what OTS stands for?). I really felt like the poor communication skills between people actually made the tension higher because it was like, “Wanna coordinate a plan? No, fuck you. I’m leaving you as bait while I run past them.”
There should honestly be a mode where you have to work with minimal equipment as possible (like Tofu in RE2). Because honestly, in any horror game, when you have any means or option to fight back, it doesn’t become scary at all once the player adapts. The most scary thing in games is when you have no means at all to get rid of your threats like Amnesia (but the AI had pretty stupid moments where they can just be abused).
I’ve said it before but I would have zero problems with the titles if Capcom kept with the whole canon the direction it’s gone but changed the name to something else. I know they mentioned doing something like it on 5’s launch. Still good games and fun
It means Over The Shoulder View, if you played gears of war or RE5 for example…just give me that type of view for the game
if they decide to go old school RE1 style then…lol
I wonder what each character brings to the table, something unique Bertha looks like she will cut you up good so she might have the best melee skills out the four and beltway looks like a sniper type
Oh, you were just talking about that kind of perspective. I was thinking about the mechanics a bit. The over the shoulder 3rd person perspective should definitely stay for RE. It definitely makes controlling and maneuverability much easier than the older games. Since the 3ds games seem to have at least some limited aiming during moving (at least mercs does), we can at least expect something like this to be in this game. I would also like to see manual dodge rolls like RE3, with certain maneuvers like pushing zombies and doing the one knee crouch stance to fire the handgun really fast from the dodge roll.
I also wonder if they would keep the risk of infection from outbreak, it definitely would be interesting instead of just worrying about health. It would be cool to turn on your teammates too as a mechanic. Imagine the team dynamic from one of those zombie flicks, if someone is gonna turn on you, might as well put a bullet in them (which reminds me of Castlevania HOD when someone gets charmed in a multiplayer match. It’s best just to kill them to get out of the way and deal with the hatemail later ).
