the whole game was pretty half assed

What makes you think I don’t how to use a spoiler tag? A mere typo suggests I don’t know how to use a spoiler tag rather than other numerous posts I’ve made where I’ve properly done it. Also why is there a hostility towards me? It might possibly be coming internally as I have made no direct or indirect insults to you. I included the ending as it is an integral part story wise and if we are making comparisons every part of both sides should be considered.
I just don’t think bad controls are ever a good idea even if it IS Survival Horror. There are better ways to create panic and fear of death. Limiting ammo supplies and health supplies. Giving us powerful, unstoppable monsters to deal with. Nemesis would still scare the ever loving shit out of you even if the controls where RE4 style cuz the dude was unstoppable, he showed up when you least expected it, usually through a wall, and you never had what you needed to kill him so you had to run, and even if you did you had to debate using it cuz who knew what the hell was coming down the pipe.
Shitty controls does not make RE, tense, crazy oh shit situations make RE. RE4 has a lot for these. It could have toned the ammo down for sure but thats more a tuning issue and less a flaw. My first time through that game before I knew how to play it Conservative i was still struggling for ammo. Game just needed to be balanced out better. Instead of just making you take more damage on harder difficulties they needed to cut back on the ammo a lot and the health items and so on and so fourth.
Games like Gears are compared to RE4 not cuz RE4 is an action game but because it’s a really really good 3rd person shooter. It is a horror game but it does 3rd person shooter mechanics extremely well and has the kind of mechanics other games that use that type of system should strive for. Dead Space is scary as hell but I wouldn’t call it an action game. It’s a horror game that uses a 3rd person shooter system. Thats all.
Just…shitty controls shouldn’t be stuck to just cuz thats how the old games worked. Thats just asking for your series to stagnate and die (Which RE was doing by the way.) Those old controls worked for those games at the time and taking that into perspective those games are still due to that but it was time to change or kiss the series goodbye.
My favorites are RE2 and 4 by the way.

I also think RE6 might have the other alive Wesker brother, originally there was what 20? And as far as I can tell one is left, forgot his name though…I would say Adam but don’t quote me on it. Umbrella is done, but they sold enough stuff that I think other companies will emulate what they had done, giving the BSAA something to do.

I actually like most everyone in RE. I think Chris is great. My favorite character is actually Jill. Leons awesome (I am of the opinion Leon is actually just A different Dimension Dante where Dante is a human lol). I like Clair…I like everybody. I actually really enjoy the fact that RE has so many characters who at any time could take on a lead role. It’s great and shows a series isn’t defined by who takes on the lead role. I would LOVE for Barry to take on the lead role at some point. Dudes bad ass and deserves his time in the lime light. I wonder if Capcoms forgotten about him it’s been a while since he’s been seen hasn’t it?
I think Capcoms got a lot of awesome options work with, with this BSAA thing they have set up. They can go in a lot of directions with lots of styles of survival horror games using the BSAA thing. I’m interested in seeing what they do with the series. I hope they back off on how action packed RE5 was tho and make it so the main series can still be played in an enjoyable manor by yourself again please. RE5 is onyl fun when someones using Sheva and thats a shame.
Never let us run and aim at the same time tho. Thats a bad idea in my opinion.

I don’t like everything but I do like a lot of stuff. I work to hard to be picky about my entertainment. It’s too much work to put in 12 hour days then go home and let small things ruin my enjoyment of something thats reletivly fun, thats all.
I didnt see it mentioned in here but im assuming everyone is aware that in RE mercenaries for the 3DS you can walk and shoot at the same time?

Why does Claire look like a hooker all of a sudden? I’m sure the run and shoot is an optional feature for retards, though if it’s not then I will never, ever have to waste inventory slots on healing items.
Krauser should come back in mainstream RE titles, I always thought his death was ambiguous enough for a return. RE: Revelations is so damn hype to me, it’s like RE:Gaiden and Cold w.e done right…hopefully.
I really hope it is a toggle option, I’m not going to get it otherwise and ultimately not get a 3DS.
The 2 RE games and MGS are driving me to get one, but if they both suck ass because of run and shoot I just wont bother.
I have more purchases I would like on the 3DS, but the RE games were a BIG part of it for me. I don’t mind the option, IF it’s an option. If not I’ll probably still get it but just find it really, really easy. Fucking move back bow shot all day with Krauser lol.
