I was just looking at the previews and the whole time I was like

“Uhhhhhhhhhh this is Resident Evil”?

The movie looks like a quasi Sci-Fi-Action Flick rather than anything resembling survival horror.

That’s basically all the RE films, shit stains on the franchise. Basically an excuse for the director to film his wife doing stupid shit or getting naked.

Anyways, has the rumor about a new RE being at TGS been shot down by Capcom yet? I have a feeling it’ll be the 3DS game, but a 360/PS3 announcement would be sweet.

Bump Mainly because of the Afterlife movie.
So yeah i went and saw this movie. Wasn’t too bad. It was better than Apacolypse and Extinction.
Anyways onward with the spoilers:

One thing that i enjoyed was that at the beginning we immediately have Alice and her clones charging through the Tokyo Umbrella place. They try to get at Wesker and he flies off and literally nukes the place taking out the clones. The real Alice tries to get at Wesker on the plane but he immediately sticks her with a needle that depowers her. That action right there pays off throughout the movie because her character does struggle a little and needs help from others which i liked.

Wesker was on point in this movie. He came off more like his RE5 character especially near the end. I mean his fight with Chris and Claire was just like his fight with Chris and Sheva. Though he did get peaced out pretty stupidly.

Black guy survives through the whole movie. Yay!!!

Guy playing Chris Redfield was pretty good.

Bad part about this movie though: No Jill Fucking Valentine. This especially pissed me off because the movie ends with a whole bunch of Umbrella helicopters flying towards the survivors with soldiers on board. I was actually expecting Jill to be on board with the device on her chest but that didn’t happen.
This definitely confuses me because the actress that plays Jill is listed on the IMDB as being in the movie. I can only guess that she may be in a deleted scene or an alternate ending.

I think I’ll avoid the money. Like others have said it’s not really RE and this last movie looks like The matrix with zombies/mutants. Boris Kodjoe doesn’t help anything to assuage me either.

Actually this movie took tons of stuff from RE5. So to say it was like the matrix with zombies is dumb especially since wesker was doing all those things just like his game counterpart.

I hope when we get a new RE, it has an unlockable “chaos mode” like a hack of the re5 pc version has (and to a lesser extent, console’s “Lost In Memories”), where ANY non-boss enemy can show up any damn where, regardless of stage.

The movies just took there cues from RE4 and RE5 and went Action Horror. The first movie was probably the closest you got to Survivial Horror.

GF wants to go see this. The RE purist inside me is already writhing in agony. Why does the female duo of Alice and whoever that other woman are remind of that lesbian duo in fear effect or whatever that game was called.

I would rather pirate this movie, then pay money for this copy and paste “Matrix” / “RE5” B.S. The original game story is 10x better than seeing Milla shit on the franchise.
