Resident Evil (Questions & Discussions) Thread

Chris wouldn’t have to jump through shit, he’ll just rip out the whole damn wall and disable the lasers with his Roid powers.

What is the best way to beat the Heavy Gun guys without a magnum? I usually play with BSAA Chris(I love shotguns) and I can’t really stun him or do damage without getting sprayed in the face. I usually run away and grenade him for the stun then pimp slap his ass, but it takes too long. Suggestions?

I’m not asking for RE5 to turn into MGS, I’m asking it to have a little more to the story, rather than half-rush everything into a carbon copy of RE 4 (seriously, not much changed from 4 to 5).

Also, how do you not see Code Verionica’s ending any better than 5’s?
5 ending is a “We can all go home” and that’s it kind of ending, nothing lame! So fuckin’ lame.
At least Code V has an “oh shit, it’s not over” kind of feeling and it feels a hell of a lot more rewarding after beating the game.

I dunno, I didn’t like the final result of the game itself or were the story went.
It really took the path for the worse, but whatever.

Well Capcom said the Resident Evil series is going to take a different turn with the next game. I haven’t finished 5 yet but I’d like to see where it goes from there as well. I just hope the gameplay mechanics don’t get tweaked TOO much to the point where it’s not even recognizable as an RE game.

edit Oh god… I hope they don’t go into some space alien was the original source/idea for the Virus stuff.

I mean but RE5 is not all over. There is still a world of nut cases and remnants of Umbrella everywhere. I know that no one reads my posts but in RE5 it’s stated that the U-8 (Crab boss) has been improved and sold to various buyers. It can destroy tanks as well.

If anything RE5 opened up a new world where enemies can be BOW centric instead of just crazed humans with the occasional mutation.

EDIT: ^I hope it’s not about space aliens either. I doubt that it will be considering Las Plagas comes from a flower.

And I don’t get the whining about the control difference between RE4 and RE5 when RE5 has the RE4 controls as an option. Fucking babies the lot of you.

Actually if you read alot of the paperwork that’s scattered throughout the game it shows where the whole progenitor virus came from especially when you get the underground flower area.

I don’t mean the control mapping, I mean the motion. Like how YOU aim on RE4 Wii and stuff. I loved how it worked and honestly once I got the hang of it, I think it was a lot better than using analog sticks.

And yeah I know about the flower part, I’m just saying I hope it doesn’t take some weird ass twist like the flower was cultivated by aliens or something.

About Wesker

Spoiler

There is still another child from the ‘Wesker Family’ out and about, or so some of the documents would give strong hints on from what you find through out the game.

After a lot of experimentation last night with a fully upgraded Hydra, I have to agree that when fully upgraded, it is superior to the Ithaca.

:china:

Yeah Hydra is beast. It can kill Lickers in one blast at short range, even on Pro.

Well, the S&W 500 is my licker killer (5000dmg per shot) but yeah, the Hydra is good for getting Majani out of my face with the quickness.

That is really all I use the shotguns for, is a kind of “force push” to avoid getting swamped.

Oh, and I found that Sheva can actually kick some SERIOUS ass with the longbow…she is finally useful with something other than the sniper rifle! W00T!!!

On Pro mode, I give Sheva a long bow, both armors, and a whole bunch of health items. If only she would stop shooting and heal me, YOU STUPID BITCH! BLARGH!

Does the armor even do anything in Pro? I was using it at first, but still going into dying from a single hit from most things, so I eventually just took it all off in favor of more inventory space.

I am finishing up Veteran now and looking forward to Pro.

I will post up my observations once I get into Pro mode.

What are the known differences for pro, besides the fact that enemies due a shit ton of damage to you?

Also, regarding inventory space: Once you get your primary weapons to infinite ammo, inventory matters MUCH less. You don’t really need much inventory space if you don’t have to worry about carrying ammo. I would consider upgrading to infinite ammo for your primary weapons and get both characters fully armored up (assuming that the armor still helps in pro mode, even a little).

Why does that guy at the beginning of mercs mode keep farting. DeChant liked to rip a few, too.

What guns get infinite ammo when fully upgraded? All?

Accuracy has gone to shit since we use infinite ammo. We shoot everything with shotguns. Open the wooden door? FUCK THAT! We shoot doors open with shotguns. Birds in the sky? Use a rifle? Fuck that shit! We use shotguns. Crocodiles in my swamp? Fuck that! The hydra parts the red sea.

Holy shit @ the last magnum. It’s the best looking gun in the game.

Yep. Once upgraded to max you have to purchase the ability to use infinite ammo from the special menu. You have to use the points gained in mercs mode to buy stuff. Kinda wack, but what can you do?

Funny, my accuracy before I got unlimited ammo was about 65%.

Now my accuracy is commonly 75% or higher.

I think the difference is that I started carrying a magnum as my primary, and with the slower rate of fire I CANNOT afford to miss, so I am now much more careful with my shots.

I usually side step a little, to line up multiple Majani and then the mag goes through up to 4 of them, deads all four. I feel like Indiana Jones when he kills those three Nazis on the tank with the luger.

I LOVE one hit killing the alligators in the marsh with the 500 mag…you don’t get anything for it, but I just love that the game designers decided to make them killable, instead of just invincible.

I’m still on my first play through on normal (Being a science major steals my life so I don’t get to play much ) but I just got to the underground ruins right after you kill the annoying guy on the boat. That place looks amazing. Minus the Majini, it looks like somewhere worth exploring IRL.

Also, those plates are in some random ass places. I’ve only found 4 or 5 I think. Maybe even 3.

Most rich area in the entire game for money farming.

Avoid the lickers = no moneyz.

Kill all the lickers in that level = $10,000 in lionhearts.

YumCha85 on PSN, I’m almost done with professional, and I have almost all the gun upgraded. I “duped” some rotten eggs with a friend to upgrade most of my guns, I stopped half way through because it kind of defeated the purpose of story mode, but my friend got the trophy for upgrading every gun. I’m not sure if you guys know about that system but it was on Gamefaqs.com.

I still need to beat the game on everything below veteran, so I’m down to play whatever. Once I learn the mercenaries maps better, I’ll hit those up.
