OK, now that I’ve had it for about a week…I’m almost done with it (for the 1st run through) on Normal.
It’s a good game, it’s worth money f’sure but you better get it NOW to enjoy it cause I don’t see many folks playing it after July or so, it’ll be a memory by this fall I promise.
It really does boil down to the fact that it’s 4 with more stuff, Car Guys will feel me when I say this.
Resident Evil 4 = S13 a reboot of the series of sort, all kinds of new and great.
Resident Evil 5 = S14 an S13 but in ways better and in ways the same and in ways the S13 was better…a mixed bag really.
The Good, It’s Resident Evil 4 but better and with CoOp and Sheva is the baddest bitch ever.
The Bad, Lots of useless ****ing weapons just keep upgrading the first weapons you get per class (1st Handgun, 1st Machine Gun, 1st Shotgun, 1st Magnum) they beat out anything new that comes along for the most part and those are the ones you need to upgrade to get the games “Special” Weapons. The only weapon that gets better (and ironically it’s one of the weapon classes that doesn’t have a “Special” version) is the Sniper Rifle.
Also, CoOp is only as fun as the person you’re working with.
The Ugly, The Story…it’s not that good, once the game is over you can tell Capcom rested on it’s laurels.
If there was no RE4 and this game came out in it’s place this woulda been one of the best games ever known to man…too bad 75 percent of this game was seen 5 years ago on Gamecube.
It’s a good game?, Yes.
It’s worth buying?, Better get it NOW, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to play this game on the 2 harder settings without a capable human partner and I don’t see folks staying on there in another month or 2. I myself am about ready to get back on SF4 full time again I don’t even see it going back in the 360 after May…you can only play “Mercenaries” for so long.
Game of the Year like all the hype going on says?, So far it’s tied with SF4 but let’s see what Final Fantasy XIII brings to the table this fall.

The game is awesome, but it borrows a lot of stuff from RE4, especially some enemies. There are good share of cool enemies that look awesome, but in some cases ONLY, it’s like RE4 with a different skin. I still find the game to be tons of fun and it looks amazing. The cover system is useful in certain scenarios.
The game has its funny moments. Remember the very 1st chapter where you just walk through the village, and those villagers would just stare at you. If you go close to them, you can see their eyes pop out, LOL. Then there is a group of villagers beating up on something inside a bag, and they stop and stare at you as you pass by, and there is one guy hitting a bat on his hand while staring at you. It was hilarious.
Who is a good character to use in the Missle Area stage? That stage confuses the fuck out of me, the timers are all spread out, and all the timers offer very little bonus time to make use out of them.
if you have it wesker works…otherwise I would use anyone with a sniper rifle.
Question since I don’t have it yet (my computer upgrade had to come first, lol): Does Wesker still beast in Mercenaries? I remember he was awesome due to the fact that you hardly ever had to even shoot anything with him, just stun and WTFpwn with his uber melee attacks.
Jill has the double knee press of Shadaloo and awesome ass neck break, but…Wesker still owns. His weapon set is gdlk.

Played RE5 at a mate’s place, co-op all the way thru, man what a experience, capcom really did a good job on it imo
My highest score so far came from using Battle suit Jill on that stage. Im not gonna lie tho i had to play that stage the most bc it was confusing as hell at first.
