Resident Evil 6

I appriciate the way you present your opinions. Let me start by saying 6 out of 10 would be fair if this were a new IP, but its RE and it has tradition and history and it shouldnt be forgotten because its a convienient time. If anything it being forgotten is a large part of the problem. I dont know what / what id rate it, but it has to either stand on its own, or be a worthy addition to the franchise history. This is neither.

QTEs and camera issues in 4 are a non issue. The camera was excellent and there were only 4 or 5 QTEs in the whole game. There are almost that many in just the demo for 6. Most importantly and the main difference is that they felt warranted there, cutting the rope and dodging the boulder… I agree there was a lack of puzzles in 4 as well which is ashame, but it was forgivable because the gameplay itself was enthralling, and it was a new direction for the series. At the time I didnt think puzzles were abandoned but on hiatus. The game still felt like RE somehow even with all the changes. While in retrospect I wish they were there, not having traditional puzzles in 1 RE was ok. Abandoning puzzles since is not. Its simply too far gone now. As far as melees the main difference is simply that in 4 or 5 they worked. They were a great tool but you couldnt abuse them because you still had to get that shot at the right spot and get close enough in time to make it work. A headshot or kneeshot made the melee a good mechanic. It wasnt free. Especially when youre surrounded. Now you can mash that trigger and bingo, clear a path. That reminds me there are other things as well that I dont like such as not being able to customize or upgrade your loadout to mention 2 more.

And the reason Im coming across as I am is due to rage and the fact that im typing this on xboxs explorer so forgive the brashness and lack of grammar of it all.

I disagree, but I can empathize with where you’re coming from.

OH SHIT? DID WE JUST COME TO RATIONAL CROSSROADS?!!! ON THE INTERNET?!!! FUUUUUUUUUU

Lol. Theres a first time for everything…

well i got through Chris story. i would have to agree from what i been reading he seems to have the weakest campaign. although the ending was kind of cool. They could have done some of his parts better, Like one certain boss battle.Gonna do Leon next time i get a chance to play. anyway i am finding the game a lot more fun then 5 at least enemy’s. Four is still a better game then six. Also having people invade or team up in your game is a great idea.

also i agree on not being happy for not having anything near a good puzzle yet. Like i said capcom should just make ioutbreak its own series of games with classic resident evil game play. Since they don’t seem to get away from the action games.

Finished Leon’s first chapter, loving it to death. Game is definitely flawed but I stopped caring when I noticed herbs are limited as fuck and I’m suddenly having to fight for my damn life with 2 health bars and nothing to heal with. I just love shit like this.

Yeah, that’s one of the thrills of the game. That you really have to preserve your rations and such.

Yeah, and enemies not only do a crapload of damage specially during grapples, but you also don’t get to buy first aid sprays like in 4 and 5.

Hey are you on now? We can coop if you’re willing to wait for me to clean myself off.

Nah, I’m working right now. Besides, I want to finish the game solo before doing coop runs.

Actually the title change does make sense. Think about it for a second, the majority of people are bitching because RE6 doesn’t come across like a “Resident Evil” game. Flip the title around to “Biohazard” and it makes total sense in the context of what they’re doing with the series. The Biohazard threat has extended beyond just a mansion/small town/isolated area. The threat has moved global, so obviously enough, you gotta evolve your gameplay around that storyline concept.

I don’t see how that works. Even if it was called Biohazard in the states, people would still be saying the same thing, due to how the actual gameplay changed in regards to the series. The narrative could have Leon and Ada Wong escaping bio-terrorism in outer space, but if it felt like what RE/biohazard felt like to them, they wouldn’t have that complaint (legitimate or otherwise).

The thing is, the same faggots said the same about RE5 not “feeling like resident evil” in dudes hated 5 from what i remember.“oh theres too much action!” “I hate sheva!” “lol matrix wesker” “theres no horror in this!” etc. etc. Now the same ppl who shitted on 5 are having the audacity to say RE6 doesnt right (atmosphere wise) LOL what? If anybody seriously thinks Re5 had a better atmosphere than 6…well, theyre are on some goodass crack. Hell, Re6 shits all over 5. Seriously…go back and play 5. Wesker SAVED that fucking game. Re6 really catches the surviival horror from 2-3 in raccoon city (atleast in leons campaign) You even get it in Jake’s campaign running from hoobastank. For the record I do love Re5 as well. Its just clockwork with capcom fans to hate

Another thing i find hilarious is the fact that they FINALLY give you the option to yknow? be mobile? And you guys still find a way to complain about it. I remember that complaint coming up A LOT in the Re4-5 days bc the gameplay changed (for the better) and dudes hated having to stop and pop. Well, now you can be as free as you need to and you guys still arent happy? Really?

Yknow this is why i always say capcom has the shittiest fans around. You guys can never be happy. Instead of nitpicking every minor detail…go get laid and have fun with this game for what it is you bitchass niggas

Anyway I finished the main campaigns last night. Going to do ada’s after work and then mercs time :coffee:

Thank you Epidemic !

Who the fuck is lobbying for more QTE’s?!?!? My god who likes these?

QTEs is gods way of punishing us.

It is from a narrative standpoint. The threat of viruses have gone global and outbreaks have become common place. RE4 on there has been a bio-terrorism attack somewhere just about every year in the series timeline.

Y’all bitchin too much because it’s time to talk about ***MERCSSSSSSS!

people saying they like the new Resident evil games is the equivalent of a g1 fan saying they like what micheal bay did with transformers

The newer games are superior as far as gameplay goes and I say this as someone who loves the older games. Having to deal with fix camera angles and not having control over my aiming is a chore after playing RE4 and 5.

Game has good graphics, good storyline, the controls work fine, intelligent A.I, a return to the creepy atmosphere of the older titles, packed to the brim with content but somehow even with all that, people STILL bitch.
